>been driving my 6 speed for over a year >still get flustered downshifting from 6th occasionally
Bros I drove 5 speed shitboxes for so long I can't kick my force of habits
Yeah, not being able to put on the epic Dragon Ball shifter, sad. Could if I replace the shifter base assembly with a 15-17 Veloster shifter base assembly.
Once I'm done replacing the seats, replacing the door panels, changing the timing belt, changing every single pulley, fixing the decaying top, pulling out the computer that fucks half the electronics when it gets rain on it, and finding that storage door for between the seats that isn't being sold for $120 it'll finally be worth the $4500 I spent on it.
Usually it's just a 5 speed with an even taller overdrive gear. Sometimes they're clean slate designs with a single or even no overdrive, and a final drive chosen to complement the close ratios.
>why so long
i don't know, it could be normal or the shift linkage may be assembled with wrong parts >how fucked is this
It's perfectly drivable, can't even tell anything is wrong most of the time except 1st gear being tricky to get into. Sometimes it doesn't go into reverse and goes into first instead, 3rd instead of 1st or 3rd instead of 5th. The latter is dangerous but luckily there's a crunch so you know to back off and try again. It isn't too bad, I can slam it straight into 3rd from 5th when I need to overtake and 2nd 4th never get confused. Great car, loyal.
I have the leather 6 speed-reverse right offset knob from the pre-2018 Suzuki range and was thinking of replacing it with the one from the S-cross because it has the Suzuki logo on it and I don't know if this is cringe or not.
check the factory manual for that car and find out what the specs are for the parking brake. In the vehicles I've owned it was 5-8 clicks to get it engaged. I remember one of my cars it was almost completely vertical until I adjusted the nut.
Got fucked real hard today. KFC lady did not properly secure the cap on my 1/2gal of rootbeer. That's 1.9L for those of you who hate bags of soft drinks and freedom. I didn't notice it was spilling until I got home.
How do you do fellow 6 speed gentlemen
ima secretly drop those pennies in there
is that an s2k knob on a bmw?
It's a 1st gen tsx and the shift knob is oem I swear
get a boot omg
Better?
Turns out finding oem shift boots is a bitch

The equivalent of a desktop with 2 clocks
sweet
Been printing shift knobs.
Getting closer, but not quite there
Favorite one I had was just a 50mm delrin ball. It eventually got smooth just from normal use. Get some threaded rod to get the length right.
I tried a 2in cue ball.
But I touch the metal shift rod with some grips on the shift knob.
So far only the lightbulb feels ok.
Oh noes you touched metal!
Feels weird when I shift. Can't be distracted when I'm shifting at the track.
The PLA is just a temporary test.
If I like the shift knob design, I'm gonna have one made from 6AL-4V titanium on a CNC lathe
are you going to coat it with anything? handling pla/abs doesn't sound too comfy
include a cavity for weight inserts or cum
Make the taper a bit more dramatic and give it a flat spot on top about the size of a half dollar.
looks more like you're printing dildos, anon.
I remember SoCal Garage having a reverse lockout adaptor kit for the earlier Velosters that allows for wider variety of shift knobs, but eh.
FURMAN!!!
Fag

it somewhat shows my reflection and you guys will call me names for being non-white
Sry about your skin color.
Maybe in the next life eh?
there are no colors in The Big Sleep
We'd call you names even if you were white

Let me guess: Audi?
God gives his shittiest wire piles to his dumbest high schoolers
cute, still less to fix than on my titty
Tfw you install your shift linkage upside down
Fit/jazz?
>He only has one knob
>No handbrake
OOF
it's one of the biggest drawbacks of the car
but at least i dont have all that honda sensing bullshit
Is there any point to 6 speeds? Is the 6th ratio even lower than a normal 5 speed?
6 is overdrive, 5 is natural, 1-4 are a tighter ratio.
it was basically the same back in the 80's when 5 speed was optional
back then 4th was 1:1
now it changed from 4th to 5th gear being 1:1
top speed is much different now
6 gears are more suitable now
OT: Seriously, fuck that slider captcha
failed 5 times now
>Am I a robot?

Just get 12" wheels mate. Lift the vehicle. Good as gold.
not mine but i think this literal granny shifter is worthy of a mention
>femur removed from granny before cremation, bought from yard sale
might've actually been removed after...but it was what the guy that bought it was told. either way, granny shifting > double clutching

Bet you give good HJs. Can you match BJs?

Here's the interior on Friday, before I cleaned it.
