Which do you think is the better phone? I know the Galaxy has better paper specs but is the Google software experience worth it? They're the same price by the way

Pixel for Graphene and developer support when the 5 years of updates is over. A54 for Scamsung bloat and forever locked bootloader, eventually destined for the landfill.
Google obv.
Down the way you’ll get more spare parts and also install GrapheneOS
which one is stock android
s22
No unlockable bootloader + no custom ROM = doomed to be landfill
Choose the Pixel, you're a first worlder that can buy one and save yourself future headaches
Samsungs have unlocked bootloaders.
Not in the US/Canada, and in Hong Kong and EU the only ROMs available are pajeet versions of the stock ROM with functionality removed (aka "debloated") and unlocking the bootloader trips a KNOX e-fuse and voids your warranty. What is the point of this? There is no point, Samsung is hostile to development. You can "debloat" to your heart's content with Package Disabler Pro, there is literally no reason to unlock a Samsung bootloader.
>usa/canada
Nobody cares.
Pixel 6 literally has bugs that are unfixable because it's in the shitty hardware that Google put in it. There is no software fix for its shitty modem. Even Pixel 7 users have the same issues
Really happy with my 6a. I can't stand Samsung bloat.
define samsung bloat
Pixel for sure
6a + Graphene
do samsung phones get mysteriously slow after 3 years of updates like apple and sony phones do?
I have an a53 right now, it's actually still a decent phone one year later. It gets a lot of hate for a littl bit of lag, which is true, but i can live with that for the excellent screen and phenomenal battery life and longevity. Not to mention they are on sale all the time, I think I paid $150 for mine at a prepaid carrier and can probably sell it for that much an get my money back when I want to upgrade.
No. Note20 Ultra still runs Genshin like a champ. In fact it runs it better than on release software.
No. It's slow from day one
My last phone, a sony z3c, takes 5-10 seconds to open the apps menu. Sometimes it freezes up for 30 seconds at a time. I hadn't installed anything on the phone for years; it was just used as a phone and calendar and yet somehow it went from everything working instantly to the state of being almost unusable with the only changes in the course of this being OS updates.
There is absolutely no doubt in my mind given what I've seen, that the phone was intentionally crippled by software updates. I know apple also does it, and I won't buy another sony now because they clearly do it too.
I wouldn't be surprised to find samsung is also now doing it, but it'd be good to know so I can pre-emptively delete all the software that handles updating the phone.
>Galaxy has better paper specs
I wouldn't say that, not across the board anyway. The A54 has the better display, but the 6a has the better CPU/GPU. It's the same as the regular 6, so you're really not losing any performance on the a model. Image processing on the Pixel is also better.
Neither has a headphone jack, so neither.
