>music B.A.
I've actually managed to confidence my way into a bunch of unrelated jobs with this degree
however it makes me negative money in the field so I think it qualifies as useless.
>what kind of jobs
humanities
chef, curator, etc. anything where I can convince the hiring manager I know about beauty. I use the music degree and try to translate it to beauty / aesthetics. I've managed to secure a combination and flowers right now as long as I don't fuck it all up retardedly
Bachelor's in economics. I can't get into any master's programs since I didn't take calculus in undergrad (and I don't want to risk getting into debt for more school)
I got in A in econometrics, but since I didn't take Calculus 1, I can't apply to graduate econ programs. (Yes, I understand how little sense that makes)
>I didn't take calculus
i feel you, out of everything in software engineering, math was the hardest thing for me because I never really applied myself before especially in hs, so when my peers had the base of math (most of it) and I didn't, I was really behind, but like anything it's logic and you apply yourself you will start to understand it more
??? Banks, numerics departments in industry, any IT and data science company. Oracle, Motorola, etc. Most people don't understand how lucrative this shit is.
I also tell my self that.
It helps me cope with the fact that I was an underachiever my whole life, and will probably continue to be. >t. About to become full time barista
>start hiring gain,
they are always are. This time of year is a bit slow, but I never had trouble getting a job lol, maybe hard to find one with your fav stack if it's really niche but you usually can find something relatively fast, especially if you're an engineer and not a simple code monkey
I know someone with a master's in cs and 5 years of experience who can't even get callbacks for friggin' entry level positions. The market is garbage right now.
I was the same. So I worked in retail until I got my current job (IT) which I like. I'm even getting a promotion soon so will be on better pay, but it's not been easy since graduating I'll say that.
>tfw BA in history, took me 8 years to get it and a shitty GPA.
well what do you expect grandparents? You insisted I had to go to college but I couldn't do anything that was actually worth the paper it's printed on.
you have No ideia how much this make me want to KILL MYSELF RIGHT NOW, i got all this bullshit education, certification, and degree FOR ABSOLUTELY NOTHING
Wondering if mine is worth getting. I'm 23 and I have about 1.8 years of college done. I'm still working at it but sometimes it seems like there are more downsides than upsides. Please can someone tell me right now is it worth having a degree?
NONE AT ALL
they all Bullshit you with the disgraceful shitty bullshit of "to have x job you need y degree", but at the end of the fucking day, job market is nothing but dumb luck and connections, there's psychoanalyst who already confirmed that, sorry to break it to you anon, but you're wasting your life away, when you finish your college and get your bullshit degree, they're gonna left you for death, they probably already have left you for death
Yes I agree with you you're probably right. So what is the better alternative? Get skilled at another job? Ideally I would be NEET with no job because fuck capitalism but you have to have a job to live at least I want to do something I enjoy. My parents are paying for my college (thank God no debt) so it's gonna hard to convince them of this. They'll probably just remain in denial about it. Retarded boomers.
anon, i'm extremely depressed and suicidal, i have no ideia what's the better alternative
you already say it yourself, but even if you do that, please bear in mind that the job market is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE, i wasted long years in this worthless job market trying SOO HARD but those monsters keep ghosting me no matter what
Econ degree, can't you just buy a suit and be a talking head on shows forecasting when no one cares if you're wrong. And then you write a book no one reads. Gee, I guess you are useless
>music B.A.

What kind of jobs? Have any of them required a degree? (subject unrelated, ofc)

sorry I'm so drunk I can't type and I'm using voice to text.
>I've secured a comfy niche in flowers
Econ MSc? That should be a marketable degree or is the bank downsizing fucking your market?
Bachelor's in economics. I can't get into any master's programs since I didn't take calculus in undergrad (and I don't want to risk getting into debt for more school)
>took econ
>didn't calculus
ouch. Econometrics is everything now and you really need a graduate degree for anything in econland.
I got in A in econometrics, but since I didn't take Calculus 1, I can't apply to graduate econ programs. (Yes, I understand how little sense that makes)
Can you take calc courses at a community college? That would be cheap and might tick the box for a grad program.
Yeah, but I would have to commit to more school, and I don't think I can do that when I can't even get a friggin financial analyst position right now.
>I didn't take calculus
i feel you, out of everything in software engineering, math was the hardest thing for me because I never really applied myself before especially in hs, so when my peers had the base of math (most of it) and I didn't, I was really behind, but like anything it's logic and you apply yourself you will start to understand it more
>has a degree
I fell for the meme. At first I was proud of my degree, but now I'm just ashamed.
hey at least you have the slip of paper to show for it, I didn't even get that far
Just means you have less debt. I'm lucky that I paid for most of my tuition in cash, but I've still got 12.5k in student loans.
I'm getting my master's in applied mathematics next year so i can't relate hahaah i'm already getting job offers
>math degree
>job offers
This is b8.
??? Banks, numerics departments in industry, any IT and data science company. Oracle, Motorola, etc. Most people don't understand how lucrative this shit is.

>useless degrees

Some degrees are less useless than others.

>Heritage
Wtf does heritage even mean?
It's related to history but is more about identity and how history is used and displayed
Do you have a job at least?
Yes I do but it's not in the field I studied and isnt too well paid, but I like it well enough.
I'd be willing to take any job period.
I was the same. So I worked in retail until I got my current job (IT) which I like. I'm even getting a promotion soon so will be on better pay, but it's not been easy since graduating I'll say that.
