They can't, bc pacifism is not and has never been christian

This. Peace under God's Kingdom and pacifism are not compatible at all in a biblical sense. Hippies who profess to be christian are fakes.

Literally every single aspect that's admirable about Christianity comes from Europeans molding it to their own inclinations. You're posting a people who were worshipping Wotan some 2 centuries prior but Christ apparently inspired them to a warrior ethos. Curious!

they can't, they don't read the bible

Because its not referring to a literal sword and warfare but the division and conflict within relationships of those who accept him and how this will put them at odds with those who reject him.

You only have to read the next two verses to understand this. (NIV) Matthew 10: 35-36 For I have come to turn a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter in law against her mother in law, a mans enemies will be the members of his own household.

The Bible isnt a collection of one liners, its a full on book that has to be read properly to understand. All people have to do is read two verses right after it to get the answer yet still people either ask what it means without having done the most basic of research or assume they know the meaning in some cases mistakenly believing its referring to open warfare.
This applies to so SO many verses people take out of context and misconstrue. If people would just do the most basic of research 50% of the discussion about the Bible would be answered before they began and we could instead focus on other topics where discussion is warranted.

So in the case if Matthew 10: 35-36, I'm guessing the "honor thy father and thy mother" commandment no longer applies? The daughter who accepts Christ has a mother who doesn't. And the mother ends up treating the daughter like crap because of it. Is the daughter still meant to honor the mother? Or still "love them from a distance"?

You don't understand what "honor" means in that commandment. It is a commandment given to adult children to take care and look after their parents in their old age, just like they did when you were young.

You are expected to refrain from perpetuating sinful treatment of your neighbors and brethren as a result of your familial relations as much as possible, but hearkening to parents who are also fellow devotees of the Lord is meant to be encouraged.

The Bible is full of contradictions, and you can find something in there to support basically any position you want.

    >"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
    >Matthew 19:24
But then just a little bit later...
    >For to all those who have, more will be given, and they will have an abundance, but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away.
    >Matthew 25:29

      You're a fricking idiot:

The Parable of the Bags of Gold
      >“Again, it will be like a man going on a journey, who called his servants and entrusted his wealth to them. To one he gave five bags of gold, to another two bags, and to another one bag,[a] each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey. The man who had received five bags of gold went at once and put his money to work and gained five bags more. So also, the one with two bags of gold gained two more. But the man who had received one bag went off, dug a hole in the ground and hid his master’s money.

      >“After a long time the master of those servants returned and settled accounts with them. The man who had received five bags of gold brought the other five. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with five bags of gold. See, I have gained five more.’

      >“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

      >“The man with two bags of gold also came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘you entrusted me with two bags of gold; see, I have gained two more.’

      >“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

      >“His master replied, ‘You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest.

Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’

"Rich man" as in someone who spends their life on earth stacking up earthly possessions. Think of someone who has whole entire rooms in their house dedicated to materialistic shit. Stuff like "muh video game room with all of muh huge retro backlogs that never gets played but its just their for the look". And people who own 500 pairs of sneakers because of "muh sneaker collection". And those people who collect super sports cars and just have them collecting dust in their garage.

I'm reminded of Luke 12:16-21. It reminds me of someone like Jeff Bezos or Elon Musk.

It's why Christ said to sell crap like that and give the money to the less fortunate. Either give the money to them, or buy them food and/or provisions. Folks who do that, more will be added unto them to continue the work. We're called to be Christ's hands and feet - helping the needy in any way we can.

It was literally less about warfare and more about destroying family structures in cultures of undevout and incompassionate filial roles.

    >How do they explain this verse away?
Nothing to be explained "away". All you have to do is keep reading. They came back, and Jesus asked how many swords were now among them. The answer was two daggers. Jesus said that was enough. We see later why he wanted a dagger or two along -- when Peter used his to cut the ear off Jesus's arresting guard. So Jesus could heal him, and command Peter to sheath his weapon, teaching "He who lives by the sword, shall also die by the sword".

Without daggers along, that important lesson, in disarming all men, would never have been taught.

How do they explain this verse away?

Whoops, I addressed the wrong verse. But it's pertainent. The usual argument is the one where Jesus tells them to sell their cloaks and buy a sword. I should have read, whoops.

But to answer your question, in the end Jesus will fullfill the warrior part of the messianic prophecies. He will come back as the Lion of Judah, and the blood of the wicked will flow over his feet. There will be lots of violence. But our mandate until then is passive resistance. Vengeance is HIS.

There's also a double entendre here. The sword was and is a symbol of division. He then goes on to explain how he will divide families, even. But you must choose him over your families if it comes down to it.

Grow up, the Bible has been edited and re-edited over hundreds of years to suit the agenda of certain ruling-elite banking families.

That's a myth, since all you have to do is go back to the earliest manuscripts we have. Besides a few details, they all match up. You can even write the entire Bible just using the first century early church leader writings as well. Multiple times over. And it matches what we have today.
