I’d say it’s still very much relevant for business, but Western millennials and zoomers are so developmentally stunted with regards to social behaviors that if you’re between the age of 18 and 40 you may as well just not read it
Influence by cialdini: teaches you how to get what you want from people through conversation
Carnegie and cialdini are the only ones i know can help *everyone* because they teach you working techniques. Other than that, you could read _the 7 habits of highly effective people_ and _The Power of Now_. Those may or may not help you since what they do is showing you the way the see the world and that may or may not connect with you. If you have time, you can read them if only for aquiring others views on life, which may be worth
It's a foundational self-help text that is arguably necessary before you move into the more modern and deeply philosophical and technical tomes such as Peterson, Manson, Clear, and Greene, etc. (Harrari too, arguably, of course). Its influences span across time. It's an intellectual diatribe on social interaction and the human need for success in inter-personal fulfillment. A 20th century book of biblical proportions? Perhaps. Indeed Carnegie proselytizes the asocial young male into being the ubermensch, "Chads" that society has said they cannot be. Do young men need Jesus? No. Carnegie - Yes. 100% - Yes.
i think most people read this book just to have a reason to interact with other ppl and start a social life. you don't really need the information in this book it just motivates you to start talking to people
You have to read it because so many others have, but you don't have to follow the advice. In fact, whenever i see people following the advice from this book, I like to go out of my way to actively sabotage their lives.
I have read it. it's one of those books where you can just read the sparknotes and use them to the same effect. "remember peoples names, and call them by it" "don't argue with people, agree with them" all obvious stuff but not obvious for a lot of people living in their own ego.
seems to be a good idea, not gonna lie this book gives a bit of a made-for-midwits vibe, just wanted to check what LULZ thinks
Read it so you can regurgitate stupid shit from it to useless MBAs so you can get hired
Simon Sinek is also good for this purpose. Say "never eat alone" and watch the boomer parasites eyes light up.

why so? would you mind to elaborate on this thought?
I saw two zoomers meet each other and just stared at their phones. Another time a saw a zoomer try talking yet their friend said nothing in response.
Interesting species. It's over etc.
Yeah even after you read it nobody wants to be friends :/
all is vanity
why do anything, bro?
Read it in business school. It was good
Yes. It has some good advice like it's fruitless to engage in arguments which should be common sense but I guess it's not.
Real. But behold, since the vast majority of self help books are useless. This one is one of the few tha are worth it
(op) sounds like you've read a few. any other recommendations?

necessary information when you're a sociopath

Actually very useful and made a noticeable impact on my life. If anyone who’s read this recommends any others I’m all ears.
