      Most modern plants do. Older ones run on diesel generators in emergencies.

      powerplants (sometimes) need an outside source of power to start their generators back up.

      there needs to be some outside source of power to energise the field coils in the generators.

      typically, theres a backup like a large diesel generator or large as fuck batteries....but this is soviet tech that hohols probably scrapped decades ago.

    They have Diesel generators for that on location. Also, only one part of the plant is still online, the rest has been shut down. This happened every other day a few months ago btw
