One of the most kino moments in Star Wars in one of the worst shows.

Obi-Wan show sucks, but this moment was pure kino and one of the best moments in any Star Wars show or movie.

I don’t think the show is very good (frankly none of Star Wars is) but I liked this scene. Obi-Wan and Vader never should’ve had any other encounters in this show except for this. Only one would’ve been necessary to explain why Obi-Wan knew what Vader looked like after Mustafar.

They should have had Vader's moment of opening up the earth cause like a big sinkhole to start happening and force the two to separate. That would have made more sense as to why Kenobi would choose to leave him alive because he had no option and then that's when he senses Luke in trouble and needs to dip out.

100%. Alternately, they fight, Vader knows he's been beaten, but before Obi-Wan can finish him off, he force pulls a mountain down between them. By the time Obi-Wan gets through it, Vader is nowhere to be seen. Before he can hunt him, he realizes Luke is in danger, and leaves for Tattooine. There are so many ways they could written it, that didn't have Obi-Wan pussying out of killing him a second time

They should have had it be a good fight but ultimately Vader should have bodied Obi-Wan, since Vader is basically at the height of his power here. Have Vader be about to kill Obi-Wan but then the last bit of Anakin/the light side makes him unable to deliver the final blow in the crucial moment and as a result Obi-Wan escapes. Vader realizes his weakness and crushes the last vestige of Anakin Skywalker and truly becomes Darth Vader until his redemption via Luke in VI. But I guess they already kind of blew their load on the whole 'let Obi-Wan escape' thing in an earlier episode so whatever

            >trilogy long story that respects the fans
The first thing Disney did as soon as they bought the brand was kill the EU that actual Star Wars fans loved. Now, that happened a while ago but I don't think Disney will ever care for what the fans want

Lucas respected the EU though, he didn't care about it but was okay with taking shit from it for his movies and TCW. He didn't erase it like Disney did.

I would have agreed with you when TLJ came out, but it really feels like now they're almost tucking their tail and sucking up to the fans. They've done absolutely nothing with their new ST canon in many years and it's all been modified OT stuff. Even Ep 9 was a slightly altered EU story. They definitely were upset about the lost revenue, and they could regain a lot of fan loyalty if they did copy the best of the EU

I just cannot believe that they continually fuck things up when they have both Disney money and the entire EU sitting on a silver platter in front of them.
Disney would have RAKED in the dosh by just throwing money at adapting EU stories. Most Star Wars normalfags don't have any idea what the EU is and they'd get far less criticism for just throwing the EU on the big screen than these half assed messes they keep pumping out

It has to be. There's no possible universe where A New Hope and Obi-Wan Kenobi take place in the same continuity. It simply does not line up. Leia's message in A New Hope very obviously implies that she has never met Obi-Wan. "Years ago you served with my father in the clone wars"

After a long day of fighting the forces of the dark side, Anakin is ready to relax with a cold Yuengling. He opens the fridge and reaches for the beer, but is stopped by a sudden force. He looks down to see his hand frozen in mid-air, slowly moving towards the beer. He knows what's happening, and there's only one way to stop it.

    Anakin: I'm sorry, Yuengling.

He closes his eyes and summons all his strength to crush the beer can. There's a loud pop and foam starts to pour out of the can. Anakin opens his eyes to see the cans floating in the air, slowly rotating. He gives them a push and they start to spin faster.

Anakin: Now that's how you kill a Yuengling.
