I have a couple old android phones lying around, one of them is rooted. What are some good uses for them? Tried to use one as an rtsp webcam but couldn't find an app that did a good job of it

see how many you can fit up your ass
install gentoo
I actually did put alpine on the rooted one with Linux deploy but found it to basically be a less convenient way to have a webserver on an Android phone.
host your blog on it
I'm scared of opening the door to strangers on my home network so I use the free oracle vps for that.
>so I use the free oracle vps for that
based, same
can run a lot of shit on that ARM server
You could also use the vps as a reverse proxy to your home Network and still host without exposing your ip.
Basically only the vps will know your ip and have access.
i use one as a dashcam and audio player in the car
how'd you set that up? sounds comfy
>Portable media player
>Dedicated porn device
>Shitty internet hotspot
>Smart device/IoT controller
>Wasting [email protected]'s time with mobile CPU power
There's options
Anyway I could use it as a wifi bridge to host a wep/open network with Mac filtering to use with my old pdas?
>Portable media player
Why the fuck I didn't think of this? Thanks Anon. Not OP btw
Charge it up then drive a screwdriver through the back for a sick light show.
I often use my spare phone as a hotspot. Is there a way to install pihole?
what could I possibly still do with a Samsung Xcover 4?
Make server from it
You can use it as a remote control for your kino station... I have an old S7 I've been trying to find a purpose for, but it just lays there collecting dust.
Manly tears buys a remote
I'm going to put that remote in my guest room. Just to piss my bros off.
Use it to seed Linux torrents. Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.
dedicated cypto wallet aka pocket swiss bank
I use one for an always-on hotspot (really cheap 4G data plan where I live + unreliable landline) and another as a remote control for my PC and HTPC.
I tried using one as a dashcam but it is too heavy and I couldn't get the device to automatically turn on when it gets power.
How do I use an old android as a camera for 3d printing?
chroot linux on it. they're actually useful little devices for shit like that.
