Now you are liberated from the chains of the proprietary world. You now own your computer. You now can do whatever you want without fearing censorship... or in LULZ terms "Download 1TB of e-boi Hentai on to your hard drive and "enjoy""
I started with ubuntu myself, it really doesn't matter which you start with, unless it's broken of course. I guess the differences at first glance are the Desktop Environments they come pre-installed with, so if you don't want to do any fiddling then that's also a factor.
He is accidentally uninstalling the desktop enviroment by typing "sudo install steam".
There is a "YES DO AS A I SAY" statement which should be a red flag but most will think it's normal
>installing Steam from the Linux app store and complaining it's shit but never installing apps from the Microsoft Store and saying it's shit
i don't get these people
different OS, different way to install applications
it's like people default to MacOS brainlet mode whenever they get Linux and try to download from the shitty stores
Windows: Download and Install EXE from Website
Linux: sudo apt-get install PROGRAM
Mac: Apple App Store
it is what it is my man, it's a shame it doesn't work well on linux but it's a small price to pay. I don't really use photoshop and AE for work, it's just a hobby.
You use PopOS and get on with your life. No more distro hopping, no more iToddlery, no more telemetry. Just a simple and stable OS that quite literally just works. I have several production machines running PopOS because it's so damn good.
Pop!_OS is alright, I just don't know how I feel about them deciding not to have any new releases past 22.04 LTS (stuck at GNOME 42 with no thumbnails in the file picker like in GNOME 44) and instead having people wait until COSMIC releases for any big changes, and there's no clear indication when COSMIC will be finished.
>usually run my super c00l arch setup >install bone stock ubuntu on spare ssd just to mess around >nvidia drivers are preinstalled >install steam >99% of my games run first launch at native performance using proton
yeah, im thinking this is it bros. 2023 is the year of the linux desktop. The meme has become real
freedom
Learn to hate the foot DE
now move to a good distro

>e-boi
someone's afraid of getting on the no-no list
ok glowie
anyone new to linux should just use ubuntu budgie
its like kde but without 10 thousand customization options and comes with better defaults.
>top bar
trash
I only chose popos because it looked very beginner friendly
Delete and install gentoo
https://github.com/pop-os/pop/issues/2702
the sheer quantity of lintard COPE regarding this poopOS/steam issue was hilarious
Now learn to code
should have gone with fedora or arch
at least wait for next comic release and dont use the one with 2 year old packages
also how do I fullscreen the fucking browser lmao
boy this is gonna take some getting used to
just use something like kubuntu if you can't even do that kind of stuff
gnone alone is garbage
fuck no I ain't installing something else, I'll become a popos master or die trying
a distro's just a package manager
oh
well I'll mess around a bit first, get used to the OS ya know
I quite literally do not know ANYTHING about linux

tips to make my ultimate GUNNM desktop
I always wanted to make those cool looking desktops
wotr seems to work just fine
forgot to save my custom character portrait before installing the OS though lol
Just get working. With Pop! you don't need to do much tinkering or troubleshooting. Everything should just work, and look good in the process.
You can put a Windows VM on it to run most software.
Yeah I'll have to do that for photoshop and after effects I think
>PointlessOS
get a real macbook instead of using cheap knockoffs
what's happening
He is accidentally uninstalling the desktop enviroment by typing "sudo install steam".
There is a "YES DO AS A I SAY" statement which should be a red flag but most will think it's normal
this is fixed right

it's like people default to MacOS brainlet mode whenever they get Linux and try to download from the shitty stores

this shouldnt happen anyway dont blame him for being blind
>Expecting normal homosexuals to read
This is why there never will be a year of the linux desktop
what do you typically do with a computer?
Produce cum and play video games
this
plus edit stuff with photoshop and AE
>photoshop and AE
yes Linux is the ideal OS for running CPU/platform-tuned system intensive applications under WINE
it is what it is my man, it's a shame it doesn't work well on linux but it's a small price to pay. I don't really use photoshop and AE for work, it's just a hobby.

Pop was created by System76 to showcase their own hardware, creating yet another fucking Ubuntu fork is a questionable decision

by which you mean "another gaming toy"
good for you anon
Geez, man. Learn to have some fun and lighten up a little. Perhaps take the stick out your ass while you're at it too
install KDE
Pop_OS is a buggy/shitty OS. Just go to mint since that actually works. So either this is bait or you made a really shitty decision.
OP here
what's a good msi afterburner alternative for linux if I want to undervolt my gpu
Can't you do it in BIOS?
I don't think so
you can't control anything gpu in the bios
that's how expansion cards work and always have
currently messing with different themes. fiddling with stuff is not as hard as I thought it would be
