Nu-Beck

Is Nu-Beck worth getting into? I heard someone say Colors was their favorite album and I'm now curious. Modern Guilt was my last outing. Loved it but haven't bothered to check in on him in a minute.

No, Morning Phase or whatever was great. After that he started chasing mainstream money.

Reminder the Prince tribute was the best thing Beck has done since the 1990s

    >Scientologist won a Grammy for phoning it in, ends up making a bunch of shitty pop albums

he's always made pop. its just that "pop" was more interesting in the 90s because of all the alternative/indie/college rock influences.

I dunno, I don't even think it's an issue of trends. I think Beck just wanted to get that T Swift money.

no absolutely not. morning phase is like Sea Change pt 2, its OK, forgettable, but decent. probably the last thing he made worth listening to.

I agree, it wasn't great but compared to the uninspired pop that came after, I'll take 3 please

Nah Colors is shite. The only Beck record after Midnite Vultures I’d ever listen to is The Information, which is still not much compared to his early stuff.

Modern guilt was his best album so you stopped at the perfect moment. The bird album after that one sucked

OP reporting in, Colors was fucking cancer. The one after that wasn't TOO bad. I admire the attempts on linearity but the overall attempt was diet beck. Morning Phase wasn't too bad, kinda felt like B-material

Define nu-Beck, because if you mean music made after Modern Guilt eh... I thought most people drew the line at Guero... Morning Phase is alright
