Now that pretty much everywhere summer is coming into full effect, I’m once again wondering how to dress like Tony Soprano.

Always admired his style, and I feel like it’s excellent for the warmer weather.
Any suggestions on brand/sites to use when looking for clothes? Particularly some that are a bit cheaper? I’m not poor but I’d prefer to save money.

anon you are not wrong that Tony probably canonically shopped at Sears and similar stores.

However, you must consider the absolute drop off a cliff that retailers like Sears have experienced in the quality of their clothing over the last 30 years. If you are looking for the same aesthetic and materials that Tony wore back then, you will need to shop upmarket. Sears may recycle the same look, but all their shit is polyester and made in China nowadays.

I know that almost all the pants he wore in the show were wool slacks by Zanella, you want them cheap you can find them for very little at thrift stores. In general his wardrobe was pretty pricey and a lot of the sweaters and pattern shirts he wore are relatively difficult to come by especially nowadays.

Thanks for the advice. I’m always checking goodwill (grailed and poshmark) and the like but never have any luck. I was hoping someone would know some modern brands that won’t break the bank.

Probably the most alpha thing about Tony’s looks is that he didn’t give a heck that his hair was thinning.

He didn’t just shave it off like betas like to do to try to hide the fact that they’re balding.

He’s got great energy, I agree.

What does Tony Soprano mean to americans? I’ve seen he seems to captivate the imagination of a subset of the population in a very mysterious way, even to them. Any explanations?

A soprano is a singer and a singer is someone who squeals and a squealer is a pig and pigs are fat and so are italians
