Might as well drive an automatic as these features make driving a manual pointless.

No they don't
The point of a manual is to have a feel of a car. All these features make driving pointless.
Also forgot to mention rev match.
>power windows destroy the driving feel
Based busrider
>The point of a manual is to have a feel of a car.
This cannot be proven, but it's an effective coping strategy for some.
>Be me
>Passing some Stacey on the interstate before she crawls around my favorite cloverleaf
>Hard on the brakes as I heel toe into second
>On the power gently through the speed, building as it straightens out
>Run it nearly to the redline, grab third, hard down, slot in smoothly in front of a big group of traffic
>Almost enjoy the whole experience
>Remember that I had remote started the car this morning
>Mfw
I mean, I hate the globohomo iot stuff. But most of it has nothing to do with overall driving experience and I certainly am still not interested in a car with no clutch pedal.
>be me
>have remote start
>don't use it
Problem solved you autistic fucking idiot. These must be the thoughts a car driver has when they're completely lacking horsepower and torque.
>hmmm.... yes.... my windows
I wish I could end your autism like how you ended your parent's marriage
>Also forgot to mention rev match.
WRX does not have auto rev match.
>power windows and backup camera remove the feel of a car and make manual pointless
absolute fucking retard
Isn't the whole point of driving manual having final say of what gear the car is in instead of a computer that responds to shift requests in "manual mode" 20 years later if at all.
Basically I just want the computer to get the fuck out of the way of my driving unless I'm about to stall or damage something.
>I just want the computer to get the fuck out of the way of my driving unless I'm about to stall or damage something.
embrace the zf8
Reminder that Subaru has to sell some cars to normal people in order to continue existing. Though if you want to buy a WRX or BRZ and strip it out no one is stopping you, except your own wrenching skills of course.
That's one of the main problems with the car review industry. I can't imagine WRX buyers wanted any of these additions, but reviewers complained and now we'll get them anyway
It's also a regulations problem, all new cars sold in gay European countries will now require autonomous braking (which is what Subaru Eyeshit is for)
glad i got my 2022 without any of that pozz then
>No WRX hatch since forever (at least in US)
>No STI anymore
who the fuck wants these anymore? AWD is a meme and WRX is not longer considered that fast it gets fucking BTFO by the BRZ now not even mentioning how many FWD performance sedans and hatches BTFO it too. Not to mention most of all pic rel basically just replaced it and this is the last gen before subie turns WRX and STI into another forgettable EV sedan that cucks to Tesla
Who cares it has been and will always be an incel car.
OH NO I CAN START MY CAR FROM A DISTANCE AND HAVE A BACKUP CAMERA TO HELP ME WITH REVERSING, I'M GONNA GO CRAZYYY
screens will never go away for the us market since reverse cameras are mandatory
I don't see why they can't just implement it in the rear view mirror, plenty of cars have that OEM
>keep three pedal and stick alive
>NOOOO NOT LIKE THAT!
>got the last year of WRX before all the gay shit got included
See the neat little thing about purely-software options is that you can just fucking turn them off if you don't like them. My M240i had factory hill-hold, rev-match, and anti-stall. So instead of trading it back in for an inferior M235i so I could brag about the lines of code my car doesn't have, I just bought an $80 coding license, an OBD adapter, and an ethernet cable. And now I have a slightly more difficult to drive car that allows me the satisfaction of preventing my own rollback.
Some of the new tech is pretty decent anyways. Auto stop/start is pretty competent, at least for BMW manuals. It only kills the motor if you come to a stop in Neutral off the clutch. As soon as you press the clutch, it fires back to life. My personally favorite trick is to let the motor shut off at a light, put it in gear (without clutch) so I can let my lazy foot off the brakes, and just clutch in the fire it up when it's about to turn green. Though I make sure the oil's up to temp first.
>My M240i had factory hill-hold
What, a handbrake?
it's so fucking ugly, I want to puke
