I would disagree. The modern technological and industrial society has created a sort of system, at least within urban areas, wherein people can never feel satisfied or fulfilled in their lives.
To clarify; Humans have the natural need to, by their own, autonomous effort, attain food, shelter and other basic needs. In modern, industrial, technological, urban areas there is no possibility to do such a thing. People attain food and water and shelter through minimal effort, by just going to the store, and the money they earn to buy these necessities is very often not attained through any physical work, but rather through some menial activity, and at that, one that is based around following orders, and not done by one's own, autonomous will.
To expand upon this: In modern urban society we see a sort of perversion, that is, the exact opposite of natural human living conditions. Humans have for almost all of their existence lived in a large family unit that exists within a small tribe. Now, in big cities especially, people live in a small family unit contained within an extremely, incomprehensibly large city. Thus, no one knows eachother. And to add onto that, besides only existing in a tiny family, people are then expected to even go out and get their own house and live separately, when, in natural conditions, the whole family lives together for life.
