And the side mirrors wtf. The stock ones are actually really good.
I'll drive what I want.
And I will continue to laugh at you for driving an oversized minivan.
Sorry little guy. Can't hear you from up here.
>Giant engine sounds
You need all that height because whenever you're not driivng you're 4 feet tall.
Sorry what was that? No I don't have any change. Sorry!!
I like my big trug. Makes people seethe almost as much as my wrx
lol
lmao
>purposefully cherrypicks short bed variant to make point
they're comparing the most sold variant of each generation
If you can't carry a 4x8 sheet flat in the bed, you're driving a fashion accessory not a truck
Even a Maverick can do that
>wtf no you can't just open the tailgate that's not allowed!
Hahaha looked at that nagger rigged shit.
I place the 4x8s in the bed, between the wheel wells, and then I close it.
I only have the bed open if I'm driving around 10-12 foot timbers.
they're all similar lengths
People almost exclusively purchase short bed trucks. In this argument YOU are cherry picking by trying to acknowledge long bed variants.
cope, retard namefag
theres no reason for a shortbed to exist
I've never had to haul anything that wouldn't fit in my 6.5' bed and being a little easier to park isn't a bad thing. Single cab/short bed.
So you've never hauled a 4x8 in your life?
/thread
>being a little easier to park isn't a bad thing
The truck itself seems bigger on the new ones.
>I HAVE TO HAUL THINGS
do truckolds simply have schizophrenia?
If you only need 6.5 ft why buy a truck? Even a compact has that much space if you fold the seat down. A mid-sized station wagon will have more.
I have a long bed crew cab f350 and occasionally wish the bed were longer so that I didn't have to stack heavy shit on delicate flat shit (paint buckets on 4x8 drywall) or that I had a third row. If parking is a concern I take my car.
I only have my truck for towing things, I never use the bed so it might as well be a shortbed.
>I never use the bed so it might as well be a shortbed.
exactly, you dumb nagger cattle. might as well get an SUV with a V8 if you need a big car with towing capacity. if youre gonna get a truck with a bed, get a sizable one. youre part of the reason why shortbeds are the majority of trucks on the market. you really dont need a truck to begin with if you dont even use the bed. youre like most truck owners that have no justifiable reason to own one other than "muh man's car". dumb amerinagger
Ahem
Goosenecks you dumb naggers
Hey eurofag, what do you guys use to tow a 3 horse warmblood height trailer? Or a large boat? We generally use a 3500 series pickup, typically with a gooseneck. I'm interested to hear how you guys do it.
It's sad how the truck threads always derail into European versus American shit flinging. As an American who's driven in europe, I understand why the vehicles are different. And anyone who has spent enough time in either place can understand the same. I'll break it down for you real quick if you don't know. Space is absolutely at a premium pretty much throughout Europe. Many of the major cities were developed long before automobiles, so the roads are tight and narrow. Also, public transport is generally better, and you might not need to use it at all as many things are within walking or biking distance. So vehicle use, especially large vehicle use, is rather out of place in Europe aside from industrial applications. America however, outside of the old parts of colonial era cities, was developed after the industrial revolution. But more importantly, space is nearly never a problem in america. The roads are wide, the parking spaces are wide, the parking lots are expansive, there's just more room for everything in general, and the roads are no exception. So we buy vehicles to match. Also we don't pay out the ass for petrol like the rest of the Civilized World tends to, so buying a pickup truck that you don't fully utilize but a few times a year if ever is no big deal. You just get what you want generally. I daily a V8 camaro and my commute is 45 miles one way. Is that efficient? No. Does it make my heart happy when I can go from 6th to 3rd and give it the beans after I pass the last town heading across the state line? Absolutely. I even average 24.5 miles a gallon. The American who lives outside the city knows a level of Freedom the European will never. And it makes me sad, honestly.
correct analysis
t.euro
came to the same conclusion, actually my life goal is to move the fuck into northern finland so at least i can see some actual wilderness in my life. Mainland europe is literally all cities inbetween wheat fields with no exception
Funny how different things much be down in central Europe. I'm far from living really remote here in northern Sweden, but it's basically 100km of forest to the closest "city". Other smaller places is in between though.
Based choice. A cabin in Lapland with a Finnish made 91-30 and woods and sky, life could be worse. Just be sure you make some friends so you don't kill yourself in the winter
>Hey eurofag, what do you guys use to tow a 3 horse warmblood height trailer? Or a large boat? We generally use a 3500 series pickup, typically with a gooseneck. I'm interested to hear how you guys do it.
most euros wouldn't be allowed to tow something like this - even if they had a machine capable of towing. most euros are legally allowed to tow 750kg trailers max. and that's it. if you want to tow anything more you have to get a license for it. and then it goes up to a max of 3.5ton only. (my RAM 1500 is legally allowed to tow only 3.5ton even though it could tow way more)
t.german driving an imported full size pickup in germany
and you have one of those licenses don't you
Damn that sucks. So the answer is, you simply don't. No wonder trucks don't make sense to you guys.
But while you are here, what's your take on the w124? I'm thinking about getting an idi Mercedes diesel and the om603 seems pretty solid.
And that's a good thing. I don't trust the average american to have the brain capacity for towing 750kg which half of it is the driver and her daughter.
>what do you guys use to tow a large boat?
Towing large boats is an American phenomenon. Large boats in Europe are made much wider and are expected to make all necessary transportation by sea. If you look at all but the largest American yachts, you will notice that they try hard to constrain to comparatively narrow width so they will be able to be towed on the road.
So consequently, the chad wide yacht owner in Europe is laughing at your cramped narrow American yacht that is cucked by an expectation it should be pulled out of the sea and trailered.
Americans laugh at these posts knowing they come from someone who legally can't tow something over a few thousand pounds without a special loicense.
Post your yacht
I'm American, you schizo and no I don't have a yacht. So wow you really got me on that one! Ask mommy for one gbp for your valiant effort.
Sure hun 🙂
why not get a van at that point? big shit on the trailer, equipment stored in the vehicle
>waaahhh wahhh you didn't spend your money exactly the same way as I would
>please daddy government, make the big mean man do the same thing I do
You're aware the US government is actively subsidizing trucks and SUVs right? If the government didn't pick sides and subsidize trucks then the vast majority of Americans would still drive cars like they did from 1900-2000.
>Blue 8 foot bed
>Dark blue 7 foot bed
>Other 3 are mid-sizes
>stop building fat, body on frame RWD V8 sedans
>this causes more people to start buying short bed crew cab trucks to serve as comfy family cars
There's a reason trucks sell so much
it's beautiful. TAKE ME BACK AAAAAAAAAA
>as comfy family cars
I don't know what fucking planet americans live on that a panther body qualifies as a "comfy family car" but I've had the displeasure of sitting in a crown vic and the amount of interior space was abysmal, especially in the back.
I've sat in compact station wagons that had more room for an adult rear passanger than this rolling steaming pile of garbage, which is ridiculous if you consider that those compact station wagons are probably an entire meter shorter on average.
No idea whats wrong with you. I know americans are short as fuck compared to an average Yuropoon but you also happen to be fat fucks and I can't see how having a 50 kilos of extra blubber on your lap per passanger makes a car with a tiny interior "comfy".
Someone find a pic of some stepside shortbeds to add.
>want to buy CCLB diesel
>cities keep expanding
>prices going up
>space keeps shrinking
>WEF wants to ban ICEs
Why the FUCK wasn't I born 20 years earlier
whats the smallest truckbed that exists right now, its almost just an suv withouth the back seats
honda ?
What game is this?
MAG on ps3
COD killer?
Hyundai Santa Cruz?
>"I... I have it because I want to haul things..."
>the soi cuck cant understand that real men actually do stuff
The new ones looks much worse at doing things, mate. They have clearly changed the customer base.
You can just get one with a long bed then.
Short bed trucks are for cucks.
I think I understand the American mindset now. It is all about having the potential to do thing, but without ever actually doing thing. For example, they have lots of guns to potentially overthrow a government that becomes tyrannical and corrupt. And then of course their government actually did become just that, and they did... nothing.
So it is with trucks. They could of course use it to haul lots of livestock or lumber or whatever doesn't fit in a normal car. But in the real world of course, they get the extra cab version so they have some space behind the seats where their groceries don't get wet, because that's what they will actually be hauling. They could use it to tow their 3 ton speedboat. Of course the average American doesn't own a speedboat--they don't even have $1000 in their bank account-- but they just might, one day. So they need to have that truck, just like everyone else, along with a bigass monthly payment, which ironically puts them further away from ever actually owning a speedboat.
I mean tens of thousands use their trucks every day here in America towing shit, or it is seasonal (hauling hay from june to august). It’s not just potential as you say.
I don’t have a speedboat, but I do have a truck, a sports car, an old Mercedes, a dirtbike, and a quad, along with a decent size house, and I enjoy them all
Seethe and cope more europeon
Embarrassing if you're over 25
Lmao post bank
(You) won’t
That’s just one institution btw
>bagging about <30k
This is a troll post.
Here come the LULZ gorillionaires
I had 30k as a student. Some of it admittedly saved from student loans though. About 10k from family's savings during childhood. 15k from some work and other savings, perhaps 5k from student loans/state money.
If you live in the West is literally shit tier. At least it has helped me as a neet because I was too lazy to look for a job, but have started now. I wonder how much I will save, probably around 10k a year.
Also had some other money, but that would make you seeth too much.
Or perhaps I shouldn't say shit tier, as the average American has like $10 at the end of the month. But it's certainly nothing to brag about.
If you are in a somewhat decent situation you should reach it in a couple of years.
Haha what a cope.
Yes, owning a truck is a massive cope for 99% of Americans.
Yeah the grapes are actually really sour, you don't want any.
you can do that with a corolla and a trailer
I'm not a woman so I don't drive transverse FWD.
Lot of 1%era then especially on Mongolian basket weaving forums.
Thank the gas guzzler tax. These would all be wagons and el caminos if not for that bullshit.
This means jack shit.
get a pic with a pick up truck for work, no that 4 doors faggy shit
Why didn't they use the single cab variants that Ford has for all of those generations?
those get outsold by the dual cabs like 5:1
not an argument. You want a long bed then get the single cab. They're comparing bed sizes not which one is more commonly sold. You can't reasonably expect to compare a single cab long bed with a crew cab short bed and go "SEE SEE THEY'RE GETTING SHORTER"
You literally cannot get a single cab except through special order and waiting a year
The lots are 95% double cab short beds, and the last 5% are king cab short bed. Singe cabs are not widely available, because a king ranch double cab makes Ford $100,000 and a base bitch single cab makes them $9000
They're not arguing prices or availability or model differences or which one is more common than the other. They're arguing cab size vs bed size across generations. If they compare cab size vs bed size then they should all either be single cabs or crew cabs.
The argument is the most popular model available over time, it's why it changes from single to king to double over the years
People realized that instead of having 60 percent of the vehicle be bed is less than ideal that 35% being bed and 30% being controlled locked storage for daily usage.
What is really the problem with that, you can still get single cabs with long beds if you really want, but most people don’t as they are not as practical.
Then they should have worded it that way, I think. They don't mention trends or popularity, they're talking about the actual cab to bed ratio across generations. And again, yes you have to wait a year or whatever, but if you want a single cab long bed you still can get one. Hell I think if you shell out big money you can still get a crew cab long bed. The company I work for has a fleet of F-550 crew cabs with 19 feet long utility bodies on them.
There’s a bunch of brand new single cab XLs at the Ford dealer 2 miles from me.
The Chevy dealer keeps at least 1 all the time too
they're the top selling truck by time period, retard.
Main issue I have is that 99 PERCENT OF THE TIME THE FUCKING BEDS ARE EMPTY.
wow that's amazing. you are somehow able to follow and monitor and view in real time, every truck in the universe 24/7/365 and you know exactly what they are doing or not doing 100% of the time?
that's amazing powers of surveillance!
kys commie homosexual
Yeah, but a truck is like a Swiss Army Knife or a Leatherman or whatever, maybe you don't use every tool all the time and maybe it's not the best at everything compared to dedicated tools, but it can do everything decently enough and you've got that capability there when you need it. When I bought my Ranger I wasn't really even looking for a truck bed, I just wanted a 4x4 with good ground clearance etc. and a midsize truck was a more practical and affordable option than a 4Runner or Jeep, but since getting it I've used the bed a decent amount and it's made a lot of stuff practical that would've been impossible or at least a pain in the ass before.
In theory, but that comes with a lot of problems - you have to buy a trailer, get a tow bar installed, find space to store the trailer, deal with hooking it up every time you need to use it, deal with the godawful driving experience (trailers are shit to begin with and doing it with a lightweight car towing a lightweight trailer is even worse), have to worry about trailer theft which is rampant, take longer to get everywhere because said setup isn't gonna be safe or comfortable cruising at 80mph, and so on. It's a hell of a lot easier just to use a truck.
Oh no no no no
>>no, you see, this is a good thing, because...
...they're not pussy homosexuals driving some hairdresser's car.
Am I the only one that thought op was making fun of the car not the trucks?
Hell, I thought he was making fun of the retard who drives a car the size of a kleenex box and STILL can't fucking park it.
I'm serious. Size doesn't really matter to me the state of it what's with the rear window for example and yeah now you mention it the park job. Of the 3 vehicles in the picture which one is most likely owned by a drug addict or something like that? Im not even a truck person I drive a civic and when I get my money right I'll be looking toward mustangs. I do have an old bronco for plowing the driveway and it's got a tow bar for when I can get a trailer for doing other property chores but that's pretty much it. It's just self evident that the thing to pick on in that picture is the car. The trucks just look like normal trucks. The car looks like someone can't afford his own maintenance
I guess truck on the left does have its tires sticking out a bit actually but not enough that I'd make fun of it like how some guys do it to where it's ugly pic related for example
>Old, broken window, toy "sports" car
>Two nice, well kept, high end trucks
>Onions post
>no, you see, this is a good thing, because...
people should drive what ever like, no-one should have authority over what property I own and how I choose to use it within reasonable limits
what's more worrying is the growing number of people who DESPERATELY care about what other people do with their money and have no concept or imagination of how others could impact their own lives with similar demands
>people should drive what ever like,
Yeah, they should, but unfortunately they cave to their wives, hence all the gas guzzling cuckovers on the road today.
t.assmad that people are laughing at his retarded choices
They should and they should also pay their share of the burden they place on the road. Trucks like that cause 4-5x the damage of a sedan.
Truckfags just leech of every other taxpayer to subsidize their unnecessary vehicles.
My truck weighs the same as a modern large sedan and has big squishy tires so if anything it probably has less ground pressure and therefore does less damage to the road.
what truck is it?
last-gen Ranger. Curb weight is around 4,300, that's about the same as a loaded Charger or a current 5-series and significantly less than a lot of EVs.
A fully loaded model 3 is 4000 lbs and half the most popular large sedans models are ~3700 lbs
i don't understand what you hope to show by saying your truck is the same weight as fully loaded barges that are outsold by your truck tenfold.
Oh wow are those also body on frame trucks?
Please explain how something that weighs around 1.5x of something else hurts roads 4-5x more
4th power law - the relationship is not linear
then they should pay their share as well
But semis contribute to the wider economy since they are actually needed for industry. Vanity trucks do not.
Vanity sportscars and luxobarges don't contribute to the wider economy either but you chimps don't complain about them
those aren't sold anywhere near the sales volume of trucks
Does it matter? That logic just reduces your entire argument to "popular thing bad!"
>why does having the most popular vehicle be unnecessarily heavy contribute to road damage
do i need to spell everything out for you
Based retard only knowing linear relationships. Why does breaking distance quadruple with doubled speed?
No they don't semis cause like 99% of the damage to roads but never payu their fair share of taxes
retards on their cellphones in 7000lb vehicles make it much less safer for me to ride my bicycle and shitbox around town.
i think its completely reasonable for people to have much more stringent drivers competency test. much harsher punishments for distracted/shitty drivng. i think its completely reasonable for vehicles sizes and weights to go down.
everyone has fuck iff huge vehicles they rarely use past 20% capacity
>retards on their cellphones in 7000lb vehicles make it much less safer
why is it that as cars have gotten larger, cellphones more prevalent, and people more dependent on both
yet fatalities due to distracted driving have steadily dropped
>Implying police actually report distracted driving.
Statistics are only good when the data they're derived from is correct. It's difficult to prove distracted driving so many just report speed or inattention.
Pedestrian fatalities in America are going up again, unlike the rest of the world where they've been going down for decades.
tell those protesters to stay out of the roadways. Pedestrian fatalities will decrease
>excludes the data since the pandemic
They’ve gone up again. Significantly, since 2020. The vax crowd tried to blame it in higher speeds and not the vaccine, but now traffic is back and fatalities are still way up
>people should drive what ever like, no-one should have authority over what property I own
You exercise your right to freedom, that will change when others exercise their right to freedom.
every article of clothing you purchase contributes to degrading our environment, no-one should own more than 5 t-shirts at one time and anyone who purchases a new cotton t-shirt infringes on my basic human rights
or should we draw the line somewhere else?
The issue is that they clog up shit everywhere and retards cant drive in the first place.
With that logic everyone could drive a semi and there would be no issue with that.
No. that big trucks (and SUVs) still don't do a good job of protecting the people inside due to the frame/chassis being a lot stiffer. Regular cars are supposed to crumple to absorb the impact and without that most of the force is going into the passengers instead.
>oh huh i actually agree with the points made in this vi-
>not just bikes
trash
>...the weak should fear the strong.
Really there just needs to be more wedge shaped cars to counter light trucks.
When they get flipped onto their roofs SUVs and pickups have a more significant chance of crushing their occupants.
Imagine break checking some tailgating homosexual and they ramp off your car, tip over, and crush themselves, lel.
Imagine willingly wanting to take the risk of driving face first into a 4000+ lbs vehicle. Good fucking luck to you kid.
see
> He thinks that when he runs his heckin wittle buggerino into a truck he's going to be superman and not be splat on the road
Don't underestimate how much of a stiffy a modern unibody car is, they're actually quite hard despite their swoopy soap like appearence
I will take my chances and NOT run into 4000 lbs vehicles. If you wish to take your chances doing the opposite, best of luck.
I'll crash into a truck without a seatbelt on, probably live too.
Please do it anon. I want to read about your mangled corpse on LULZ when you do.
what im trying to say is that that due to modern crash safety laws those small cars are built like tanks since the crumple zones are much smaller.
Modern crash safety laws help but they don't stop physics from fucking you. That's partially why these leftists are crying about trucks, there is a shred of reality to it.
if that pic of the mini vs the tahoe has told me anything it's that the laws of physics fucked the tahoe rather than the mini
and it's a rather moot point considering that everyone gets a truck now. And now that everyone's vehicles are (mostly) back to being the same size as each other, midwits need to buy an even bigger vehicle to see over and/or feel safer over the already big vehicles already on the road
Stop fantasizing about how everyone wants to get you. No one cares about you that much.
>we battlebots timeline
Precisely.
I’m thinking something like ziggo to make lifted fags keep their distance.
Wedge cars new meta. The pikeman to the truck's knight

>American regulations make a spacious 4-door car impossible
>Everyone jumps to trucks & SUVs because they're the new luxury sedan

Next step's going to be industrial & military/LEO vehicles and I can't wait for it.
>Next step's going to be industrial & military/LEO vehicles and I can't wait for it.
I wonder how dudebros are going to rice out the self-inflating tire systems, these don't exactly take ghetto rims.
I didn't believe in the small dick/insecurity thing about truggolds but that has changes the older I've gotten. All you retards get pissed off at the smallest inconvenience. You're so petty like women and you don't haul or tow anything
What a shitty park job
Man up Just drive with the top down
I though miata owners like getting dommed?
I own a truck and a miata. Life is good.
can you haul your miata on your trug?
I think so but I've never had to
Which Pickup would give me the image of a man who allows himself to be beaten by women, earns less money than his female colleagues, works in a profession more appropriate to women and has a very successful woman as his boss?
You mean as a (gentle) femdom thing? The one mommy buys you.
>a man who allows himself to be beaten by women, earns less money than his female colleagues, works in a profession more appropriate to women and has a very successful woman as his boss
god i wish that were me
>poor lil jap boy
Looks like the Miata is being the douche here. there is plenty of room for two cars to park between the trucks. Dude is being passive aggressive. Perfect example of someone getting their car keyed up, or tire slashed. But honestly my personal favorite way worse. Simple and effective, easily applied.
But I drive a old rusty F250 with dents. People stay away from me in general, they know I will hit them and total their ride.
Miata owners are gay though, maybe he wants to touch butts or something.
I am a carpenter, I keep a tape measure, pencil and utility knife on me at all times. I also am absolutely ANAL about keeping Lenox Gold blades in my knife. If that was my truck, I would honestly samurai that fucking top and tarp. Use my keyless entry to climb across the passenger side, and be on my way. Miata owner would be wet for the rest of their ownership.
>being a tcu homosexual
Figures.
It's a good thing because it makes commie europoor busriding /n/iggers seethe
>>no, you see, this is a good thing, because...
because the brown miata owner will be pier pressured by those other two spics into selling his miata to someone who isn't brown
i see no issue here, its great when people can get what they want. prosperity.
How are things in Ft. Worth, you fucking commie.
I don't mind trucks but it's impossible not to marvel at how gigantic they've become when you see a brand new quad cab lifted Silverado next to an old Civic.
Please do note that all cars have gotten gigantic because of safety and emissions regulations. I say emissions and you may be wondering why but you will understand what I mean when you look at the engine bay of one of these trucks. As big as the F-550 and the Silverados are, their diesel engines still barely even fit inside them.
I don't like trucks but an Audi RS6 weighs as much as an F150 and you never hear shit about stuff like that.
