pros:
might actually have a non-shitty interior for once in a toyota
toyota finally built an suv longer than 195 inches (a suburban is 225 inches, this is 205)
cons:
derivative bentayga-copycat styling
outrageously expensive
not coming to us or europe (yet)
but this does potentially portend longer suvs for america and europe by toyota (the grand highlander is just a smidge over 200 inches long)
Now that's an efficient use of space. No wasted air underneath or big glass. Just more car.
I hate that car makes usually make the big suvs look really cool but then they make the small ones look like a nissan juke. Why can't the chr look like a downscaled version of this? Why does it have to look like a corolla got stung by a bee?
finally a toyota i could see myself driving
>another saloon replaced with an SUV
I guarantee you it's not replacing the saloon century.
The arch down the body should have been straight.
sorry br/o/s i'm gonna simp for this. the green got me.
It looks like a Genesis pretending to be a Rolls
Am I blind or is that a GR badge on the front grill
Oh shit I see it. Well the GR Land Cruiser is a thing too so I am not surprised
GR is the badge for their bespoke performance cars. GR Sport is the badge for ricing up their existing non sports cars.
My biggest criticisms are
>no V12 or even V8
>tnga, same platform as a Corolla
I wouldn't agree with copycat styling, I think it looks like a regular century stretched up.
It's TNGA-K, so the same platform as the Camry and RAV4.
There are different TNGA platforms. The corolla is on TNGA-C. Still weird though, how a Century is on a fwd platform.
>Camry and RAV4
somehow that doesn't make me feel better
at least it won't break, unless the new toyota cloud-networked electronics end up being garbage
so is the audi q7, is the lambo urus and the other ones actually on a dedicated rwd platform or just an awd vw fwd-based platform?
It looks like the same platform as the A4 and up.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volkswagen_Group_MLB_platform#MLB_Evo
Though to be fair, the Q7 seems to send 60% of the power to the rear wheels. If this century is anything like the latest Toyota AWD systems then the combustion engine won't power the rear wheels at all, there will just be an e-axle there.
It will be interesting to see if they will be able to hide the economy roots in the Century SUV.
wannabe
>>no suicide doors
I die
is this really gonna sell big in japan? or is this aimed at the chinese market?
>yet another hideous fridgecore SUV
They should have focused on the sedan.
Im calling it. By 2025 this will be sold as a Lexus in the west or a new Toyota sub-brand will be formed to sell this thing. The size of this thing alone is perfect for burgers
>but this does potentially portend longer suvs for america and europe by toyota (the grand highlander is just a smidge over 200 inches long)
It’s literally just a tarted-up Grand Highlander.
Century being its own brand to chase the ultra-luxury segment, or even a subbrand to Lexus like what Maybach is to MB would be pretty lit. It’d be nice to finally buy used Centuries that are less than 25 years old for once.
it'll be using a 3.5 L hybrid (2GR-FXS) rip
FATTU PIGGU SHITCAR, NOT REAR CENTURY, UNACCEPTABURUH
FATTO PIGGU GO HOMU
looks like a cullinan from alibaba
shity Toyota interior? nigga have you been in a Toyota or Lexus?
Toyota interiors are fucking trash you stupid weeb
that's kinda the point of this thread, this may very well be the first toyota with a non-shitty interior
They need to figure out how to get this to the Americas asap. Get rid of this thing and call it the LX for all I care. Nobody buys these anymore.
it's a car forjapanese boomers and boomers like big doors and tall roofs.
"will be offered to customers in all regions of the world"
if i had 170k and needed an SUV this would be a damn cool choice
I feel like the Century SUV should have a much longer body
