i'll just tell you what i use because i don't really know, tbh >windows
i liked musicbee a lot. never used other music player there >android
sicmu music player >linux
i use ncmpcpp, i also liked strawberry and audacious
you can try tauon music box, looks like the closest thing you can get as an alternative
Is there a music player for android with a separate volume bar?
like DDB2, it nailed it, but DDB2 is abandoned and it doesn't play opus files
>why?
because I am autistic and I need to layer sounds,
one player playing ambients, like rain, noise, dark moods, etc,
and another player playing on top with my regular music.
On Windows there is only Musicbee worthwhile, if you want library management. At least as of a couple of years ago there was no competition on Linux.
Its one of the those weird Windows programs that other platforms have no real answer for, like Directory Opus. That is so customizable makes it feel like it would be at home in Linux, too.
I'm using Clementine/Strawberry rn
deadbeef
Musicbee and musicbee through wine (no other music player has been able to replace musicbee for me on Linux)

Transcode to opus for mobile clients

ultrasonic

sonixd

ncmpcpp
>pinephone
My own GTK mpd client oriented for touch commands and smol screens
On linux and pinephone I use my own custom subsonic player that emulates MPD while using MPV for gapless playback.
Probably going to write another mpd client to force feed the ability to like songs into the MPD protocol and have it synced back to subsonic.
I don't know why, but every other Linux MPD client is so fucking ugly, I literally have to make one just because of that.
>arr
what is arr?
I use Strawberry on Windows 10.
Windows: Winamp
Android: Aimp
Linux(Gnome/GTK): Lollypop
Linux(Plasma/QT): Strawberry
just use plexamp
MusicBee for PC.
I recently cancelled Spotify and am looking for a solid player for android though.
audacious with the classic winamp skin.
I do wish they would add dsd support just for the novelty of having it.
