      No, because there some pretty dry years like 1975 and 1976. Even good years like 1974 and 1972 have nowhere near the amount of great albums as 1984 or 1982, for example.

          I think 1986 is definitely better. I prefer 87 and 88 too. Though I do agree the three final years of the decade are its weakest.

          I don't really rate the 80s for its top artists or most popular albums. The underground and indie scenes are where you find most of the great albums. 1982 is an example of that.
