Who are/were they for?
They can only tow 1,000 lbs, 2,000 if you're lucky. They still handle like shit (despite how people modify them with fender flares and lowered suspension), so they're just as bad to drive as a full size truck. Midsize American sedans at the time were way comfier as cars, could seat six people, and could tow 5,000 lbs.
There's a reason these went away, and it isn't the taxes.
Most people aren't using their trucks as work haulers, so utility isn't all that important.
That being said, it was always most fun to toss my bike in the bed than it was to take the wheel off and put it in my car. If I saw something neat on the road or scrap, I could grab it without worrying about my headliner.
I'm not a pussy so I'm not intto the fearmongering bigger car arms race, nor am I afriad my dick will fall off if I drive a reasonably sized truck.
Shame you are
>fits down jeep trails
>mpg
>parking
>visibility
>dont need to lift shift 10ft in the air
>sufficient for 99% of the loads i carry
big trugs are unironically indirectly marketed to women
>muh jeep trails
>I'm not intto the fearmongering bigger car arms race
Neither am I. It's just that for the same price nowadays you can get a full size which can do even more.
>nor am I afriad my dick will fall off if I drive a reasonably sized truck
I'm not either. That's why I think full size trucks make more sense for most people looking at trucks.
>>for the same price nowadays you can get a full size which can do even more.
That WILL cost more in fuel expenses for capabilities that you will NEVER use.
They're perfect for hauling leaves to the dump and back. That's about it though.
quit being such a pussy
Good pic broheem.
I need a mower deck like that.
>need trailer for something big/heavy
>go to trailer rental place
>"hahaha, sorry bud, but you need a real truck to rent one of these"
>rental
sucks being a cuck huh?
sorry I don't want to store a car hauler in my yard 360 days a year
>t. 0.19ac lot cuck
Buy a trailer you poor c**t
doesn't financially make sense for how little I use one, even if I had land to store it
Well stop being poor then dumbass
>people are poor because they don't blow thousands on something they use once
>90s Chevy: $5000
>90s Taco in similar condition: $8000
It'd take years for the fuel costs to catch up.
Other import trucks exist other than expensive meme Toyotas.
Isuzu pup
Mazda B2000
Nissan truck
Chevy S-10s are Toyota rare now
Ford rangers are still around
Mitsubishi Dodge D50
>fuel economy of a similar age ecoshitbox
>open box for hauling large/awkward/dirty shit that won't fit in or you otherwise don't want to put in a car
It's not that complicated.
>just tow a trailer
Why buy, register, maintain, store, hook up, haul, and later detach an entire separate vehicle when you can just load up the box of a pickup?
the only correct truck to own is either a mini or a bigass heavy duty, most of the stuff in between is just a jack of all trades.
Imagine walking up to that truck after a hard day's work. It's adorable, I couldn't stop myself from smiling just looking at the jaypeg.
I will admit. They do look very good.
Goddam old Nissan utes are cool. Mazdas as well, rotary swapping an old B series would be a fun project some day.
>rotary swapping
or you could try to find one that came with a rotary, which meant you got factory flared fenders
Oh man, that's hot. Looks like they were North America only, I've never heard of a factory rotary ute here. Mind you most of them in Australia were badged as Ford Couriers.
>that rotary shaped badge
mazda are such dorks
What truck/year is this exactly?
74-77 Mazda REPU (Rotary Engine Pick Up)
It's the same as the B Series and Ford Courier from the time, but only Mazdas could be had with the rotary. Quite rare and expensive nowadays. Cheaper to just swap a non-rotary one.
KEK
NONE OF THESE TRUCKS WORK.
GO AHEAD AND OWN ONE.
YOU WILL BE THE GUY POSTING TO FORUMS "HELP MY TRUCK WON'T START"
NO REPLIES
AHAHAAHHAHAHAHAH
That's another good reason to just get a 90s-00s GM truck.
Lol those drove so much better than American trucks they may as well be sports cars relatively speaking.
I don't want to put bark dust in the back of a sedan, little trucks are based and fun pilled.
Why doesn't Toyota change this to a truck and sell it?
I have driven 62,000miles in Japan for five years with no problems except for replacing consumable parts.
850000km,528000miles
Normally I often see around 180000miles.
Even after repeated stops and starts on narrow roads in Japan, the car continues to run at this level with ease.
cant believe people just like things and dont need some gay practicality checklist makes me sick
We get it you want to be a childish moron and not face criticism.
Unfortunately your not 12 anymore and your toys are on the road and not the sand box.
When it was just a few trugg drivers you could be accommodated, but there’s so many of you now your a menace that needs culled by a sliding tax scale according to displacement.
yeah man datsun 620s are known for their dsplacement
>>cant believe people just like things and dont need some gay practicality checklist makes me sick
My apologies, I thought this was a cope in regards to something else.
>childish moron
$20 says this guy has an x-box live account.
They aren't for towing massive loads. They are for getting what fits in the tray in the tray. Also they were really economical compared to larger utes.
There's a really they were massively popular in japan, south east asia and aus/nz.
