It was part of a starter deck that was easily available and has been reprinted multiple times. Its a shit card, part of an archetype that has never been meta viable. Its not, and never will be, worth shit.

        >ive got a few 2010s charizards
Dear God, you have no clue about trading cards. Charizards arent worth a lot just because they're Charizards. Dont get into this. You're going to get completely rekt.

            >just early editions or from early sets
Which are worth nothing. Even for Pokemon, the only vintage card worth anything is a high graded 1st edition shadowless base set Charizard. Blue Eyes are completely worthless as the LoB set has literally no value other than memes and trillions of vintage Blue Eyes were printed in starter decks. Its also a shit card which has never been meta ever, which effects the value of a card. Even this anons

I have the LOB version but not 1st edition.
I also have a 1st edition jinzo which seems to be increasing in value.

Jinzo is worth more as it actually has seen competitive use.

is it worth investing in physical collectibles at all? isn't this shit easy to counterfeit?

            Anonymous

is like when you buy a silver/gold coin, there are certain details that give it away, even the weight and feel is a good measure. There are a lot of youtube guides as well.

            Anonymous

First Edition cards will have "1st Edition" clearly written on them. As for reprints, differences in the text, color and other details will be a dead giveaway whether it's older or more recent.

        Anonymous

It's base set reprint. There's no visible differences except for coloration - the card is much more yellow and bright. They've been around since 2010 though so they're kind of cool regardless but it's a weird gray area where they're a reprint but not presented clearly as such

YuGiOh never really had a Black Lotus/Charizard tier card and most people always wonder why. Retards like OP think SDK is the closest we have to the "charizard of YGO" but it's simply not.

The same card with the same art and in the same rarity was released in LCKC
So I ask you how the fuck is the card in the OP not as worthless as the $10 LCKC 1st edition copies on ebay?

LOB 1st Eds are just as worthless but worse (as it doesn't even feature the art of the anime). Konami released the same card with a higher rarity (secret rare) in 2014 and it also released Ghost Rare and Ultimate rare versions of the same fucking card art in Gold Series 5 and in YSKR. The LCKC set also had versions of this card with a different background and a version with the LOB background, both in Ultra rare looool

SDK was always inferior to Dark Duel Stories Blue eyes with the secret rare foiling anyway, if you want something worth collecting go for that one...

    BUT GUESS WHAT n-word

THE OCG upgraded that card in Starlight Rare this month LOL and Konami made another Ghost Rare reprint a few months ago LMAO

This is why we have yet to see pokemon tier prices for YGO, Konami simply doesn't give a FUCK about muh hecking secondary market and the player base is never going to throw stupid amounts of money because there will always be superior rarities down the road

So now that you understood this basic concept and realized SDK/LOB/DDS are shit tier collectibles I think it's time to move on to the REAL rare cards the game has to offer, cards that Konami simply will never EVER reprint 🙂

The point is, no one is going to bother with that card anymore because it has been dethroned by the AC02 version from the OCG.

Why would anyway waste thousands of dollars buying a DDS copy when you can just buy a much better looking AC02 copy for $500 bucks?

The majority of the market is not going to touch that card anymore and so the sell rate will plumet which limits how high the card will go in the future.

DDS isn't an ugly prismatic rare, it's going to retain some value amongst people with taste.

I've seen the price spread of DDS PSA10s for the past 3 years, the card is a fucking joke given how long it's been out in the market.

You are better of investing in OCG 20th secret rares with actual use, I've had 4x-5x returns with those at a much lower risk level because nips actually play them and live in a country where they have enough money to not give a fuck about dropping thousands on cardboard.

            Also what makes

I did mention Dark Duel Stories brainlet

special is the flavor text, it makes it unique compared to whatever KoA has planned in the future for this version of the art.

Compared to pokemon, yugioh cards are an absolutely dog shit investment both short and long term. Everything is reprinted to shit and the market mostly consists of players rather than collectors.

      Anonymous

That's why it's the best card game out of the big three, children can play whatever they want and collectors can do their gnomish nonsense outside of the larger community in the game.

        Anonymous

It is by far the most based tcg community, and then probably magic. Pretty fucked how I'm sitting on 10k of sealed pokemon product that I paid around 5k for and it's all stuff that's been released in the last 5 years.

I wish I could still enjoy Magic but it's just not for me anymore. That literal gay bear version of bearscape on top of that shitty fucking DnD set with a literal infinite combo built inside one card was the final straw. I just can't do it anymore, the culture and power level Wizards has decided to build around themselves is so disgusting I can only manage to play Commander with the boys every now and then, that's it, no more Standard or Modern ever.

Question for you guys more knowledgeable, I got a misprint yu gi oh card when I was a kid that was just a solid rainbow and had no monster info or anything. Solid 5 or 6 shade rainbow from top to bottom with a regular back side of the card.

I traded it for pokemon crystal or something like that, did I fuck up my retirement when I was an 11 year old?

Like the colors were a rainbow or the front was completely holographic? You could have found a card someone completely removed all the art from, leaving behind just the holographic paper.
