Warren is still alive and still issuing commands from the Mormon God to his followers in the FLDS. His dad was prophet before him and despite also being a crappy cult leader he at least wasn't embezzling the money. His dad was the 2nd leader and first prophet of the FLDS, so this movement fell apart pretty quickly (1954-2006). Jeffs was only Prophet for 4 years before he was arrested.
The FLDS offshoots are basically daughterswapping clubs. Unless you're well connected, a wealthy business owner or you already have daughters to offer the other polygamists you're shit out of luck.

People were always fucking suspicious of them because they were secretive parasites. They got kicked out of Missouri, fled to Illinois, then got kicked out of Illinois and settled in the desert because people got sick of them trying to override existing settlements with their own businesses and politicians. The Missouri Mormon War started because Missourians were actively trying to keep Mormons away from a ballot box because they kept putting their own people in office. Things escalated from there.
