I don't mean exactly like it, but similar in quality.
It is a good album, surprisingly sounds modern as if it had just been released.
Albums that are just as good as this album.
It is an opinion. When I think of dated, I think of poorly done synths and drum machines, for the 80s at least. Of course music is a product of its era at times, but sometimes it leans too much into it to where it is eithe like flanderization or borders on self parody, with or without a hint of irony.
The point is the music sounds good (to me) and I would like some recommendations for music that is as good as that, not necessarily ripping it off and trying to be that.

the point is no one knows what the fuck you're talking about when you say "good" because it's completely subjective
I've heard people say they think HoL sounds extremely 80's and "dated" >Of course music is a product of its era at times, but sometimes it leans too much into it to where it is eithe like flanderization or borders on self parody, with or without a hint of irony.
listen, I know you're just a kid, but you sound like a pseudointellectual who has no idea what they're talking about and you should really think about talking less and listening more

Fair enough.
If it is all subjective then just drop a rec, I might like it, might not, if it is all subjective then what is the issue?
A synth heavy pop album with interesting melodies, production, and different influences and styles throughout. It isn't a one dimensional pop album, it is a full meal.
It is my introduction to pop
I think the first half of hounds of love is god tier and the ambient shit that follows is pretty weak until she gets to the closer a beautiful track. Kinda wish she upped the weird on those ambient tracks considering the preceding record. Also big sky had arguably the best female scream of all time listen closely at the end.
there isn't, it's literally perfect and unreplicable

>surprisingly sounds modern as if it had just been release
no it doesn't retard
modern music sounds like shit
Okay, I'll concede on that and say the production holds up surprisingly well and isn't as dated as other 80s albums are or can be.
I honestly don't know because I'm not inside your brain and nervous system

if you want people to recommend similar music you need to actually describe what it is you like about it, not just "it's good"

ok try the golden age of wireless by thomas dolby
>propaganda a secret wish
not as eclectic, but good synthpop
>Japan - Tin drum
Highly original synthpop with an interesting rhythm section and some chinese folk influences
>Haniwa-Chan - Kanashibari
Eclectic and manic progressive pop with a little of japanese folk in there
>Xtc - Skylarking
More in line with rock and something if like the kinks/beatles were making new wave but still eclectic
can't stand kate bush personally but you may like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bRR1vWQZEUE&list=PLs9zwqXsceUgIviipFOhAjjDk6IuVarnf
The Peter Gabriel pop albums
That's what came to mind for me and those are barely close. There's also her following albums cause dreaming is very different
Jane Siberry is great quirky pop. Mimi on the beach is really good.

David Sylvian - Brilliant Trees
it's the devil in the flesh it's the ice cream in my soul
<3
Although most fans prefer their album "Yapoos keikaku" I personally think this one is a lot better.
masterpiece from stranger things
I can't believe they invented an entire decade (the 1980s) just for a tv show
Her other albums.
more bassline and beat drive but try
sweet dreams is good too, though more inconsistent.
the dreaming is better
