Misanthropy should feel natural for anyone who possesses a basic sense of morality.

Misanthropy should feel natural for anyone who possesses a basic sense of morality. The reasons why more people aren't misanthropic are

1. Majority of people are immoral pieces of shit
2. It takes too much energy to spend time hating on the entire world.

It's about boomers coming to a retail store looking for some really specific stuff like some specific brand of oil used for electric drills for example. Mix that with other bullshit you have to deal with and you have to deal with this scenario for 10+ hours a day
        >be assigned to self-checkout for assistance
        >meanwhile you also get tasked with unloading a pallet of odd goods
        >while you're walking around the store with the goods you're supposed to unload, you get at least 5 people asking you about shit, a customer complaining about someone forgetting their wheelchair in the vegetables section, a customer calling you to a wild goose chase to help them find an item we don't hold in our inventory (sometimes the boxes are really fricking heavy and unhandy to hold)
        >remember you also have to run back to self-checkout machines every 2 or so minutes because those pieces of junk always get broken, also everytime someone buys alcohol you have to confirm their age manually
        >all the while your supervisors are b***hing about you in your ear (we have to wear headsets for communication) for not unloading the pallet fast enough while completely ignoring all the nuisance you have to go through

      >1. Majority of people are immoral pieces of shit
So what it's not like animals have morals. Your dog rips the heads off squirrels for fun. Most people have a good side and bad side even if you don't see it. No reason to hate people right out of the gate.
      >2. It takes too much energy to spend time hating on the entire world.
      Exactly why you shouldn't.

I work as a private instructor for people of all ages and backgrounds and I love people. Your job's demeaning nature (rightfully) infuriates you and you are taking your anger out on the human race.

Yes, this is basically why people try to suppress these feelings. It will consume you alive, otherwise. I think as we age we have the opportunity to find things, people, activities into which our energy can be expended in more productive ways. When you have somewhat like-minded people to exchange ideas with the world becomes more bearable. I have a lot of rage in me, some righteous but mostly irrational and unhealthy, but even I feel it wash away when I'm with the small handful of close friends I feel comfortable around.

I'm proud of you Anon, most anons wouldn't be able to admit something like that. I also have problems like that, and it's true; I also feel it wash away (not my hatred of the world, but of the individual human souls in it) when I'm with frens & family

While you're half true, misanthropy comes from a lack of self-perception and introspection. You assume you're without fault and fail to understand it is human nature to err.

When you accept your own short comings you become more accepting and understanding of others and in turn become more forgiving as you understand everyone is trying to be good in their own way regardless of their success or understanding of what is and isn't righteous and so are you. You attract more bees with honey than vinegar and can't ever hope that people around you act better if you don't set an example yourself.

This is really well said and good advice for everyone in this thread.
Everyone has deeply ingrained shit they struggle with and probably will all their life.
I had a period recently of a deep hatred of my ex-girlfriend and it was introspection on myself and forgiving myself for my own flaws that helped lift my mind from a dark place whenever I passed her exit on the freeway. She was abused as a child which heavily influenced her actions, and while that isn't an excuse for what she did it was never about me and my obsessive hatred was misplaced.
Instead hating someone giving a you a bad time, think about what happened to them that made them like this. It's a completely different way of seeing things that will give you an advantage in dealing with them and everything.
