Miata has always been the answer due to the price of these cars
>RWD
>Manual
>Fairly reliable
>Weight distribution
>Fun
But the prices are absolutely ludicrous now.
These were the best selling affordable sports cars in American hiatus to my knowledge with
>326,593 NAs & NBs sold in the US alone
These cars SHOULD NOT BE WORTH THAT MUCH
I wanna hope they're just inflated with the rest of the used car market but I feel like now that people are used to seeing these cars go for 3-5x what they're worth for the past 3 years, they will never go back down
So what's gonna be the answer now (or at least maybe soon) for a fun RWD manual AFFORDABLE momentum sports car?
And no I'm not buying a fucking mustang
A side note:
Seriously fuck car youtubers for overhyping s car platform into the price stratosphere. They're a large portion of the blame for most sports car prices skyrocketing by orders of magnitude
FRS/BRZ
poor lil guy, he must be cold

obsessed
just go back so I don't have to say it you colossal homosexual
why should i be the one going back when youve got it on the mind all the time? weirdo

I hear alot of bad stuff about the motors.
>yeah lets get subaru to make the motor
Lmao
With toyota's DI system, stamp of approval, and logo on it. Maybe it's true what they say about the legendary toyota reliability meme. I'd hate to be a toyota badge whore about now.
So toyota un fucked it?
Well having both port and direct injection is an improvment, and got the first generation out the door more or less meeting the design goals (fuel efficiency improvement being one of them) but on that subaru is already working on its own version of. As for the rest, it depends what you think is fucked about the FA20 family and how much is less fucked about the FA20D than the FA20DIT. Toyota seems to think it's good enough to slap its name on is all I'm saying.
Short answer, yes. If Toyota partners with a brand and that brand makes the engine, their engine has to meet Toyota reliability standards.
That's why I was annoyed when everyone was complaining about the BMW Supra.
The only valid complaint was it was Auto only (until recently). The amount of times BMW submitted the engine, Toyota engineers tested it & tore it apart, just to say "it isn't reliable enough. Fix X X & X, then come back to us."
Was apparently quite a lot
The first round of gt86 where total pieces of shit for sure tho
cool story bro
Wait. That motor is DI? With those power/mpg numbers? This thing never ceases to amaze me in the worst way.
It's Toyota's 4DS system. It has both port and direct injection, with the direct accounting for the usual higher compression lean burn as usual. It's so easy to criticize the car that I'm continually impressed at the utter ignorance of its most vocal critics. Use it next time to make your shitposts more interesting and less tiresome.
Oh who am I kidding? You won't even bother looking at ECU maps anyway. Ho hum.
Unfortunately the car attracts the kind of people who beat the shit out of the car and never do proper maintenance.
It only had a headgasket problem on pre 2016 models? I think. But now its a non issue and reliable as hell
FA20D didn't have headgasket issues.
I physically couldn't afford a brz/frs even if I got an ungodly deal. While rare I can still find the miata in corners of the world for around 1500. I even just got a project one for 800 that runs and drives. IF the brz/frs get down to roughly that territory for price then I'd consider it a suitable replacement- but at what they are now it's outside most entry level drivers pockets
They are still cheap where I live. Sounds like a (you) problem.
the NC gen is still cheap and NB are slowly rising
NCs kind of defeat the whole purpose of a miata with how much they weigh.
They're also objectively ugly as sin
They're still substantially lighter than the shitpiles that get presented as "alternatives" like the S2000 and BRZ.
calling an S2K as the alternative is retarded. a miata is the alternative to the AP1 as it is better by every single standard including weight since the P/W ratio is favorable.
>Double fishbone
>rigid chassis design
>9k rev DOHC 2.0l with meme tech
Miata is the alternative.
The NC is stiffer than the S2000, dumbass. It also makes more power than the S2000 across the board at every RPM until the NC redlines at 7200. The S2000 is a capable car on the track, sure, but every moment you spend below 7000 RPM, you're driving a heavier, noodlier, more expensive Miata with worse steering.
>170hp
vs
>236hp
>more power across the board
no
>stiffer
also no.
>time below 7k
you wont dip below 6 if you do it right.
>heavier
The hp/lb negates the extra 200 lb easy. across the board.
In every metric the S2k beats the miata. And I say this as an NA owner, Miata is the poor mans S2k.
https://fastestlaps.com/models/honda-s2000
https://horsepowerful.com/na-vs-nb-nc-nd-miatas/
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an s2000 of any gen not be raped, stanced, double raped by urban youth.
consider hanging out with less stancefags
>stanced
you probably haven't been outside ever you underage b&
>The NC is stiffer than the S2000, dumbass.
No it isn't.
An NA miata will not out accelerate an s2000.
NC3s aren't.
they're heavier but also much better made than the earlier cars and they don't have the dead steering or gay tech from the new one
Just strip the interior. It's not like you're going to be needing the passenger seat if you're a Miata driver.
>50kg heavier than the NB
>hurr durr so heavy
Yeah ok buddy
50kg is a lot for a miata. nearly 5% more than NB.
NC were the same weight as the last couple years of NB, as Mazda kept adding braces and shit to make it stiffer over the lifetime of the car. All of the fuss about the NC's weight is hilariously retarded
>extra 200 lb
it's more like extra 400 (s2k weighs over 2800), but yeah, the Miata never matched the S2k in p:w until the ND2. ND2 is really a much better overall car, but it should be given that almost two decades separates it and the s2k
They're not that ugly.
gigacringe
1st and last gen best looking
do not @ me
Shhh keep our little gem under the radar. retards don't know ablout NC2 and NC3.
waiting for nc3s to dip a bit more.
People calling NC a gem are the same sort of people calling 996 911 a gem. Please stop doing that
And rx8 brakes and suspension bolts right on for cheap upgrades.
>And no I'm not buying a fucking mustang
You just answered your own question retard
Mustang is the new answer :^)
>These cars SHOULD NOT BE WORTH THAT MUCH
theyre not just as many other cars but so many have been wrapped around a tree by low iq mongs theyre collectibles now. shits fucked breh.
anon look at it like this
these things have survived 30 years of people tracking them, along with 2 generations of retards buying them and fucking them up, with the haggard garage folks and now the tik tok zoomer kids fucking it up. Even with 300k of them being sold, the fact that they are still under 10k is amazing
t. bought one for 4.5k in 2014
This honestly, the 2000s alone took a lot of cars
haggard is dead old news just like the rotting onion is
bmw z3
modren bmws are total garbage and even the most elite german engineers can't figure out how to holocaust the israelite, let along hire a polish stasi agent to run the country, and then not even be able to make a deal with the world's largest car market to sell their claptraps in the US at a competative rate.
Europe sucks at everything, perhaps with the exemption of sucking penises.
>Europe sucks at everything
One would imagine a "simple" car like a miats would be easy to purchase, alas, €35 000 starting price, 40k+ with some basic enhancements. Fuck that.
A BMW e36 is not a modern car you fucking nagger
Anon the cars are over 30 years old
Are the newer ones any better lol? Driving in the 90s BMW was doing better.
No, it's still Miata. Keep looking and ignore the I know what I got listings. I just picked this one up for $4500.
Where did you find it? Surely not Normiebook Marketplace.
Also what part of the country?
Texas, and yes it was on cancerbook marketplace
I'm in Texas too. Was it in a small torn or one of the big cities?
And what kind of owner was selling it?
I've noticed 85% of sellers on MP are Mexicans who have an insatiable urge to fuck witch their car's wiring & do half assed maintenance measures
It was in New Braunfels, so not a huge city but not podunk either. Seller was hispanic, but thankfully it was just neglected instead of fucked with. He was way in over his head on a car like this and left it alone, it sat for a while before I got it. Dude couldn't even google why the window wouldn't go all the way down to find it's a nearly free fix with the cost of two zipties and a half hour to pull off the door panel and secure one of the window motor's cables that was catching under window glass because the cable's plastic retainers evaporate into fine dust over time.
nice bro, looks good.
Thanks! It's so much fun and I love tinkering with it.
>fun RWD manual AFFORDABLE momentum sports car
E36
I drive a BMW z3 and it basically does what a miata does and is cheaper. Based car, I love it.
if the difference between paying $4000 and paying $8000 for an entry level sports car is stopping you this hobby was never for you kek
>thinking it takes a budget to race around cones
Thats why its so awesme. Dinks like me can show up trash with tires mounted by hand off the side of the road, and if you play the right category game, pretty easily win or be cmpetitive in a class.
You’re not entitled to anything, if you can’t afford something it’s not for you. If you really cared about this vehicle you would’ve got it when it was affordable anyway.
this is bait
Where’s the lie? It’s like when people complain about traffic, you are the traffic
>And no I'm not buying a fucking mustang
So you're being retarded on purpose? There's no better buy than a SN95 Cobra right now.
These are ugly asf.
>asf.
You'd think it was cool if it was *rare* on your video gayme zoomer
>These are ugly asf.
He's right. They're fucking hideous and the V8 makes 40 less HP than the 69 Camaro SS ffs. A car 30 years older
Seethe, and just take the L
Ok, then go buy a Camaro SS for the price of an SN95 gt you fucking tard.
>'69 Cumarrow SS 350: 300hp gross
>'96-'98 Cobra: 305hp net
You wat?
No point in arguing with someone that only has 3 functioning brain cells trips Anon.
>looking at NAs
Nigga there’s still a lot of accessible NBs and NCs are soon to be at their bottom.
>want a cheap ≈$4k jap shitbox to daily
>reddit, ecelebs and tiktok zoomers ruined the market and now they cost triple
Import?
Anon its just the times and problems of lack of options especially for small and sporty vehicles under 30k.
Demand even for shitty popular things are up but then again na and nb miata has become what 240sx was in 2010s overpriced despite quantity because people are in a rush for one.
Similarly right now i see the same with milsurp for guns. Why the fuck are mosins nearly 1k now.
It's depressing anon.
I'm a gun guy too. I didn't get a Mosin when they were $300 but I'm just personally not crying because I'm building an AR. Having usable guns & gear/kit for Dirty Civilian/shtf shit is more important than a milsurp collection rn, at least to me.
I completely agree with your point though
I just buy whatever fucks. I've got 2 ar 15s. One 556 other 300 blackout. My goto shtf gun is an ak in 7.62x39 then I've got my 44mag Blackhawk, a vp9 tactical in 9mm, and a .22 meme revolver. Also got a cheep ass mossberg shotgun I keep next to my bed.
I want a moist nugget tho, but I'm not paying retard value for an objectively shit gun
I keep a 20ga pump under my bed and leave my door open most of the time for ventilation. Stop , drop, and roll was what I was taught in elementary school.i
But nobody even steals shit from the yad around here, and the police understand that they can't cross my threshold unless i invite them in. Back when vtak was a thing it sounded super cool when it kicked in. Ain't nobody giving fuck if ricers gon rice once in q while.
The car market is experiencing the same thing the gun market is seeing. Fear over possible (Or actual in the case of cars) legislation that kills the possibility of owning new compounded with the fact that there's a limited number of older cars/guns meaning their prices go up. The issue is really a two folded one, millennials are finally coming into money and buying the cars they wanted when they were teens compounded with the rise of EVs, CUVs, and government legislation that plans to kill the ICE and the fun car. We're all on the clock to own one of these types of cars before they're gone forever so everyone is forking over the cash to get that experience now while they can. Because let me tell you, prices are only going to go up and will never come back down again.
This is true.
All because on an anorexic psychologically abused Swedish teen girl & the evil world powers at be
EVs aren't the answer & we all know this, but the masses don't realize this for another 5-10 years, but by then it will be far too late
>Fuck the WEF
If I get a better paying job soon, I'm buying a new GR86 as a second car, even if it makes me car poor, because buying a new or barely used manual sports car today is like what buying a brand new machine gun in 1983-85 must've felt like
My plan is to have a daily driver like an IS300 or manual Honda Fit, just drive the GR86 for date nights, car meets, and AutoX, and get an NB Miata or MR2 Spyder for RallyX
>the answer now (or at least maybe soon) for a fun RWD manual AFFORDABLE momentum sports car?
for us? the one and only immortal zhiguli
for you? kukish
As someone who lives in an ex soviet country it has crossed my mind many times. They are fucking cheap too.
good choice tbh. so many of them and they are so pedestrian that finding an unmolested one is not too hard. lots of know-how, lots of aftermarket, no meme tax like old alfas or period jdm. 16-valve fwd block and a suspension refresh and you got a slightly overweight ae86.
>buy na miata
>obsessed with it
>cant pass emissions
>fix a bunch of shit wrong with it
>now it wont start
for fucks sake bros..i shouldve just bribed the smog israelite
That's your fault for living in shitafornia
the problem isn't that car prices are super high, it's that the dollar devalued like crazy but wages didn't rise proportionally. same thing with housing prices. you're poor now.
Incredible to think that despite that fact, the yen, the euro, and leaf dollars are just getting weaker. Right now is a really good time to import stuff.
Not really. Same thing happened in recent history. Alan Greenspan's 2007 US residential real estate collapse hit internationally becuase the too big to fails are all interlinked, and one of the popular ideas was a "basket of currencies" such as the ones you list that could possibly take the place of the USD without ditching it but while also lurching further toward a one world currency. You never hear about grexit or denbts or grexit much anymore because that wouuld defeat the idea of roping all of the eurozone currencies in to inching right up to the edge of collapse so they can all hold hands and jump off the cliff into something new together. Now we're at the great reset iteration of the same idea.
Going plan for some time (and especially with the previous administration's attempt to repatriate some businesses, gain more international independence, and try their own way to jump start the domestic economy rather than lurch and muddle into the global void) is simply to keep the USD as the "best of the worst" in order to try to maintain the US' eroding unipolar superpower position through whatever upcoming storm there is.
So yeah. Especially if you expect interest rates to continue to shoot up, this might be a good window for whatever spending you hadn't done yet, especialily against weaker currencies. I'd be in to spending toward hunkering down, but if you need a car anyway, for instance, then that might be something to consider.
Camaro i4. has a nice turbo and a lighter feel to it, and the base LS model is one of the cheapest not-shit new cars you can get
>pigfat muscle car lineage
>I4
I love 4 bangers but that's just stupid.
yeah it is bizarre that Camaro comes with i4, V6, V8, all of which have only minor differences in trim between then.
Nevertheless, for a powerful enjoyable manual transmission ride that you can get dirt cheap, there is literally no other alternative for a North American.
Relish that you can buy it while europoors can only screech autistically with their $60,000 automatic transmission 'luxury' shitboxes
Sittin on a GD3 and NA6 so I'm set on low displacement I4s. It's just that a v6 is the minimum for some thing that wants to be considered Muscle, or true to its lineage. A 6 is really just a pony as it is.
The same NC1 looks better than the NC2/3
No replies are needed, it's true.
Why does everyone forget about BMW’s roadsters?
Z3 was my first carboner when I was a teen. But rather the ND2 Miata over any old car. I don't want old car problems. I like driving not wrenching or paying out the nose for someone else to do it.
Pricing isn't very favorable in the US and you're already up closer to nupra territory rather than a little light reasonably priced roadster. Maybe a bit like how miata peopel ask "but why not a miata?" at the same time the mustang people ask "but why not a mustang" if you happen to decide a toyobaru maybe hits the right balance for you instead.
>mfw I bought a bone stock, grandma owned, well maintained 2002 NB for 5,500 a couple years ago
Suck it retards, we were telling you to cash in and all of you said it was a gay car. Now you all want one because it's the best platform for blended use and they're bought up by millennial autocross nerds and high schoolers.
i had a mint 93 for 4k in 2016 and a tastefully upgraded 95 with a bit of rocker rust for 2.3k in 2017. sold em both for about what i paid before the big price hike - got into bikes instead which are everything i wanted in a miata, but more.
>inexpensive
>rwd
>feel the connection to the road
>max smiles per gallon
>fun under the speed limit
>get every bit of performance from the engine
enjoy your miatas 🙂
I love motorcycles but I live in a terrible area for them. Roads are way too big, straight, and uninteresting. Drivers here seem intentionally antagonistic to motorcyclists too. My Miata gives me just enough freedom that I have fun but cagies still respect my space. For some reason it seems like unironically want to kill you if you're on a motorcycle here. Also everyone races anything remotely sporty here, it's bad in my Miata, 10x worse on a bike.
That mazda mx-5 is fucking free? GO GRAB IT
>MIATA
Make It Again, TonAyyyy!!!!!
>be OP
>be 16
>THESE CARS ARE SO SHIT WHY ARE THEY SO EXPENSIVE
>THEY NEED TO BE CHEAPER SO I CAN BUY ONE I REALLY WANT TO BE JDM TYTE AND GO SIDEWAYS INTO A TREE
kek theres 100000 retards like OP and they are all PERMANENTLY PRICED OUT
zoomers will NEVER own a good car LMAO
The problem with modern RWD car prices is that people are exclusively buying and ruining/destroying japanese vehicles. Euros are excellent drivers cars (usually) until you have to repair them. So what is the solution? Domestics. There are plentiful rwd applications, high performance engines can be had for a song and a dance at any local junk yard (vortec V8s), performance parts are everywhere, suspension, chassis upgrades, etc etc.
>muhh v6 engine and chassis
So the fuck what? Many American V6s can be built no problem and put out more power than most people need with forced induction. K-member/crossmember different from v6 to v8? Easy; find a v8 one at a junkyard or get a nice aftermarket unit.
>muhh solid axle
Lots of IRS upgrade kits available or for 79-04 mustangs, just find a wrecked cobra. I took the 4th gen F-Body pill and haven't looked back. Got a literally free small block I'm building, and when I go to a meet I'm not driving the same miata/240/350z/frs/brz as 20+ other people. Domestic cars are often wayyyy cheaper to build too. Just food for thought.
And to clarify, I have 14+ years experience racing Nissans, MR2s, Evos and STIs. Stance and drift fags have effectively priced me out of my hobby so I had to start looking elsewhere.
>14+ years experience racing Nissans
God that's so gay. But good for you man don't let the haters get you down.
They are worth what the market says they're worth. Fucking retards with bullshit.
You have retards like Le Based Scotty Kilmer shilling these cars to a massive audience. Of course they will go up in price.
Nobody knows who the fuck that is.
This basically. A couple decades of influencers talking about the Miata as the best, affordable "sports car"/roadster created a lot of demand that shot their price through the roof.
I bought a 2000 Miata LS for $5k this year, love the car but that price still makes me cringe.
100k miles and the previous owner riced the shit out of it. Which is cool for some people, but it didn't make it any faster. Most of my first month was unfucking underglow that's stuck on police light settings.
Wish I'd kept mine. Bought a low miles '96 with some rocker rust for $2400, drove it for four years, sold it for $1900 when the rockers evaporated. In hindsight I wish I'd kept it and had it fixed, since about a year later prices started skyrocketing.
I wonder if anyone's still on LULZ who remembers that NAs were $1500-3000 cars in the mid 2010s.
I paid 3k€ for mine
Best money I've ever spent
Miata Isn't Anymore The Answer
Miata Isn't Always The Answer
But it's still one of the cheapest FRs of worth out there.
So you're saying that there will never be another $2-3k used fun, reliable RWD manual sports car?
All will just be $6,7,8k+ now?
You can get a 2V SN95 for $3-4k still.
Maybe a clapped out one or a rolling shell. You’re not getting a decent SN95 GT for under $6k
What? I bought a clean SN95 Cobra for 6k.
What the fuck site is this
israelitebook market place.
He said fun. I went from a Miata to a 2004 Mustang GT. Build quality is shit and it handles like something out of the 1970s, because that's when the chassis is from. It's a lot better than a Miata doing highway pulls but on back roads or around town it's just a generic car with RWD power. Not engaging or enjoyable. I regret buying the thing actually.
I've had plenty of fun in my SN95 bombing down backroads with friends in their big turbo FiST and modded VN, maybe it's just a skill issue Anon?
I also had an E46 330CI, great cars when they're not under the knife. But it was more practical to just buy a Mustang than try to add 80hp and a LSD to the E46. Also, the E46 steering was surprisingly slow of center.
if you cant afford to save 4k you picked the wrong hobby lol
no one will understand how small size and good visibility enhance the perception of speed untill they experience it. always a laugh with new passenger clenched up asking "hey can we not get pulled over man? " while going 53 in a 55
I got an old 91 jeep YJ with no doors, roof, and windshield, going 60 in that feels like I'm reentering Earth's atmosphere
Lot of other things beside size going on. You have a good view to the road below, the wind feel and noise, feel of the road vs smooth ride
The rattles, shaking, and need to death grip the wheel to keep it from spiralling out of control add to that effect.
-t.fellow YJ driver
A vehicle with enough torque to send it rocketing down a road, with none of the speed to get it past 60, and none of the comforts to make you ever want to pass it, I'd take no other vehicle to be a reliable farm hand and logging trail blitzer
e36 and e46 3 series
>see
>Euros are excellent drivers cars (usually) until you have to repair them.
I had an E46 330Ci and though it looked great, I had to sell it because it had no maintenance history & in order to be trustworthy in terms of reliability, it would've needed $4k in regular maintenance parts so I sold it.
Also having a BMW as my only performance car didn't sit right with me.
Inital D got me into cars when I was younger, and with the exception of the C5 & C7, I only like Japanese sports cars
I call everyone with a miata a homosexual hoping they will be considered gay again and people will stop inflating prices.
Being gay is cool these days. Tell them uhhh... Is there anything uncool left other than hitler? Something about being sized just right for a baby seat or something?
Good luck finding a clean one for less than $6k in the rust belt
Z31 is now the answer
Now you have to start getting creative, sorry tiktok zoomers. You can no longer just get what everyone else says is good. Go find some hidden gems. There are still lots of fun german, domestic and japanese rwd cars from the 90s/00s.
the front end of a z31 is gorgeous but they really fucked up somewhere between the B and C pillar. something about that part is just awful. looks like an 86. really ruins the proportions
I agree with what you're saying (I would have blamed forza horizon though) but that turbo sticker looks autistic as fuck
>inb4 noo but nips and dey kulcha
it's too big and poorly placed.
also an aftermarket rear (well placed) turbo badge is a big enough wank let alone a sticker
seems to part of that specific body kit
idk if you want to trust economists, they are usually wrong or lying, but most are predicting prices to go down by next year if not the end of this year. personally, i don't see why prices would go down ever, but they might. so if you can wait like a year, you might get lucky. personally, i fuckin doubt it. just low ball private sellers. they can price it however they want but if they need to sell it, and you offer something cash in hand, maybe theyll just take it. thats always been the best way to buy a car anyway.
Prices on enthusiast cars aren't going to drop, even if the overall market comes down. Best you'll get is less insane dealer markups on a new ND2, but the secondhand market for Miatas is going to remain fucked, they're too much of a memes now.
you have it easy bro
yes those are US dollars
>USD
>Still using periods for thousands
Subhumans
> Took 1 hour to look at Miata listings under 4k
> Parts car, doesn't run, blown engine, fucking coilovers modded retard shit, etc
> Have to go out of state to get one with 180k miles
I hate this
I spent like 3 months parsing ads hardcore on craigslist until I broke down and bought a used camry from a dealership. Best decision I made. These flippers I mean sellers are out they damn mind(s).
>zoomer buys a volvo 740
>thinks its good
WHO TOLD YOUNG THUG TO DO THIS
What alternatives to the ND are in the same price range though?
GR86?
If this were to go on sale, would people switch?
Honda should've brought the S660 to Europe and America
I heard they started to develop an s1000 since displacement regulations aren't a thing here, but scrapped it because the unit volumes projections were shit. Shame the new market is centered around old people whose joints and cognitive abilities won't allow them to get out of anything shorter than a cuckover or to drive with more than two limbs at a time.
I hate zoomers
the new answer is c5 corvette.
this has a mazda engine atleast, how does it perform on the road?
>fwd
I love it though
>old car becomes worth more as it crosses threshold for ‘classic’ status
Zoomers are retarded, look at NBs and NCs
you are ignorant. here's how those 300k sold don't matter
>all the cars have rusted in areas that get snow, because of road salt and non existent rust proofing
>lol shortnose crank
>lol it's just a cheap hoon mobile, who cares if I beat it up
>literally hairdressers buying them and running them into the ground
>canvas roof starts leaking, nobody is replacing them
>most examples are tattered and not worth the effort
>car needs to be extensively modified to be actually fun
I had a miata. I had the late NB with the 1.8 and torsen LSD. it simply didn't have enough power without mods. and to get any meaningful power, you had to supercharge it or turbocharge it. turbocharging the car is a major pain in the ass, where it's legal it might as well be an LS swap considering you have to redo everything. if you live in areas with state inspections good luck getting it past emissions testing with 200hp. supercharging could've been easy, but back then there was no off the shelf parts to make it go fast. you had to do everything yourself
the chassis wasn't that special. it needs coilovers because the stock suspension is too soft. it won't feel nice on the touge. you buy one and you spend at least the same to get it where it looks good and goes quick. not fast, quick. it can't really go fast fast without an LS swap
I found the car best in the winter since with the torsen diff it would drift really well and it was nimble, but having fun in the snow doesn't really require much more than a quick steering rack and a locked differential
it's just not worth it anymore. stock ones are rare, and you don't want a clapped out miata that needs everything replaced. the nice ones stopped existing almost 10 years ago for the NA, ~5-6 years for the NB. it's over get something better
