I feel like not enough attention is paid to lyrics in heavy music. Just got done reading the lyrics to Deaths Symbolic which are really deep and insightful. They’re about the symbolic acts that age you that you don’t even notice happening. What’s your favorite song or lyrics in extreme music, you do have some don’t you Anon?

you used this exact pic for another thread like 6 hours ago
at least put some effort in the OP if you want to generate some discussion.
also there's a /metal/ general
Stop complaining homosexual
>What’s your favorite song or lyrics in extreme music
Off the top of my head, elitist ones by Whitechapel
>run of the mill "fuck all of them" lyrics
Yeah. It's about you
>band gets so buttmad about getting called not metal that they wrote a song about it
kek
Bozeman is pretty based. I like how some of his lyrics seem like run of the deathcore stuff but then upon closer examination you realize the demons he's talking about are what his schizo mother actually saw. Plus he's unafraid to follow accounts on instagram that reveal he's clearly right wing.
>They’re about the symbolic acts that age you that you don’t even notice happening
>the symbolic acts that age you that you don’t even
did you have a stroke?
>feel like not enough attention is paid to lyrics in heavy music
Gee, wonder why.
Not sure what you’re implying here, are you trying to tell us you got filtered? Oh no…
I'm implying that you type like a goddamn retard
That’s funny because I’m an English Professor but ok. Essentially you just don’t like my tone but grammatically everything I said makes sense. How much autism do you have? You must have a severe case to be so sensitive to syntax.
holly molly i havent seen that much of a bullshit flex on the internet for a long, long time. let me guess, you're a navy seal too and im in trouble?
thanks man, i feel like its 2007 all over again
>You must have a severe case to be so sensitive to syntax.
or maybe you just didn't notice that intonation is not transmitted through text so grammatically unconventional sentences like yours can be very confused when they're being read and not said out loud?
What is reading comprehension? We see you can use google but you still can’t read lol
Legion probably is up there. Death is pretty unique as well, I liked Human. Realm of Chaos is fun. Some of them the vocals didn't matter, it's the delivery. Some of them are definitely not singing the lyric sheet, even in Norwegian.
Recently Desolate Shrines has really interested me. I can't think of a vocal style comparable from a first generation death metal band. The whole thing is pretty haunting.
i just feel like pointing out here that expecting every song or every lyric to have inherent meaning is kind of pretentious and autistic. not all art needs to have meaning. some of the coolest lyrics are enigmatic and esoteric and badass without really having anything to do with any sociopolitical issues or philosophical undertones. some things you just write, and they sound cool. so you put them into a song. now some lame ass lyrics like "blood dripping from an infant's cunt" are bad. sounds like you came up with that just while pinching off a log on the shitter, just trying to be needlessly edgy to come off as heavy. but there are plenty of songs with heavy lyrics that flow like poetry that don't necessarily have any important message to carry, that sound cool, and are awesome.
>not all art needs to have meaning
>now some lame ass lyrics like "blood dripping from an infant's cunt" are bad. sounds like you came up with that just while pinching off a log on the shitter, just trying to be needlessly edgy to come off as heavy
hypocrite
dude tell me that that isn't the lamest thing ever written. it just sucks. not because it doesn't have any meaning, just because it's fucking lazy.
>just because it's fucking lazy.
ah and writing some mumble jumbo like
>the flock of birds
>flew over the emerald pond
>the velvet sorrow dripped down my forehead
>and the moon was covered in moss
isn't lazy as shit?
it is, it's totally lazy. sounds like a middle school creative writing assignment.
yeah, but it's exactly the sort of "enigmatic and esoteric and badass" shit you're praising
no it isn't you dork, "moss on the moon" is badass? it's laughable.
>i just feel like pointing out here
nobody cares
poster of

based response to be fair
Wat, ya'll don't write your lyrics while on the shitter? Dafuck..
it doesn't matter if cannibal corpse lyrics are good, they just have to be edgy
I just really appreciate how metal bands talk about more than just love. Sabbaton does history, Helion Prime does sci-fi, etc.. Other genres are always "She's so pretty I love her so much" or "Ah we broke up I'm so sad".
Probably the lyric from Amon Amarth's sorrow throughout nine worlds
Silence spread throughout the hall of Aesir
As the god of light fell to his knees dying
Dying
Not because of some pseudointellectual reason, but because when I listen to it in the gym I feel like if I lift X amount of weight I might be able to save Baldur from his death
>when I listen to it in the gym I feel like if I lift X amount of weight I might be able to save Baldur from his death
based
My favorite death metal lyric is either
>REEEEorrrrrgh GRRROOODAH
or
>BLARGH RAHGH ERRROOOFFFRA
hard to choose tbh
Since you mentioned Death I was wondering if anyone actually listens and enjoys those "non-analog series" live albums?
I tried. I just couldn't get into those. I couldn't even hear which tracks were which in some spots.

It's because vocals are not that important ind death and black metal
Neckless guy, besides being bland as hell, doesn't even write any lyrics.
Aldrahn writes(or at least used to) some good lyrics
For me it's Varg's
>>Drop out of life with bong in hand
Follow the smoke to-uh the riff-filled land
Drop... out of life with bong in hand
Follow the smoke to-uh the riff-filled land
easily the best :>
baaaaaased
Thought of posting some deathspell , but half their lyrics are copied from Bataiole, Baudelaire and other writers
yeah they use a shitton of allusions so I made sure to post something I'm fairly confident is original
