LOL. BMW with the 3.0L B58 barely weighs more than the Supra and has backseats + a manual parking brake.

m240i. Much cheaper than the zupra too. And more handsome, at least the 2017-2019 models.

fun fact the 240 has more torque than the original m2

47k for BMW, 43.5k for Supra. What are you talking about?

Oops that's the 4 banger supra. The B58 versions start at 52k.

You’re not getting a b58 Supra for anything other than 63K. This is Toyota not ford where you order it from the factory

            >This is Toyota not ford where you order it from the factory
What does that mean? Toyota has a configurator. It appears to let me order.

You cannot order a car from Toyota, your online build means nothing. You can put in a preference with your local dealership in hopes they get the settup that you wanted. Toyota doesn’t take orders.

this 2bh. I think the online configurator will point you toward a car that has the same/similar specs if there's one in inventory somewhere nearby, otherwise filthy gaijin should accept what most glorious Toyota company provides, and be grateful

I'd assume that during 'normal' times I can basically walk into a dealership and wave my money in their face and ask them to order my car and they'd comply, right? Now that supply is compromised the rules are different, but I am patient and can wait. Is that accurate?

            Anonymous

Unfortunately no, Toyota just builds a lot of cars based on data they’ve acquired then awards dealerships with inventory based on their performance as a whole. So if you want a black Tacoma trd off-road, that’s easy. But i cannot guarantee that you will get the exact options that you built online, unless you want to wait until we happen to get sent that exact build. Toyota does not care about any individual customers.

I'm not calling you a liar, but that sounds crazy to me. I don't work in the industry so maybe I'm off base but I don't understand how those conversations go. "Hi I'd like to order this car with these options." "No, but I can offer you this shittier version that you don't want." "Well thanks anyway, I am going across the street to your competitor." Doesn't seem smart but what do I know. All of my coworkers check on their BMW's they've ordered daily. It has a little tracker website where it shows all the steps in production and assembly. I just assumed the autistic japs would be into that kind of shit too.

this is why I took my money to Ford and ordered a Mustang GT with PP. that plus Toyota wanted to slap 10k markup on a GR with a bunch of useless shit tacked on.

Toyotas fricking suck and are soulless. Honestly even Nissan or Kia is better. The only thing they have is “muh reliability” meme. Ironically the most bomb proof car they have is the Prius.

toyotas are ugly and boring, mitsubishi deserved toyota's success but was robbed. they were better in races anyway. not sure why mitsubishi failed. imagine a 2022 3000gt or svx. or eclipse but actually good

      >not sure why mitsubishi failed.

They spent the years 1998-2001 approving literally every Black person who walked or crawled through the door, shockingly ended up with a reputation as a car for unemployed basketball enthusiasts, and then even more shockingly ended up repo'ing most of their yearly production for missed payments and thus had to try to dump a fleet of used Eclipses that despite being like a year old had been absolutely trashed

They never really came back from that

they utilized an already available transmission. this is a low volume GT car from the get go. the whole line is low demand. there's no added cost in a manual in this car that would add up to 3k fricking dollars.

    Too little. Too Late.

I'd rather have a BRZ for half the price

And yeah, a BRZ, not a GR86. Just so I can take the money from Toyota for all their frickery (and probably get way better service from techs that work with Boxers on a regular basis).
