Yeah it’s really strange. You get stuff like "made from 13 recycled plastic bottles!" and you’re apparently supposed to think that a jacket made from plastic bottles is a good thing

It’s really not hard to understand. Big brands in all areas of business pull a new stunt like this every 5-10 years. "This new manufacturing process (appeals to mainstream thinking) because (non sequitur affirmation)." Meanwhile the product is literally just a worse version that is cheaper for the company to make.

theres like a thousand other brands that make better clothes out of better materials for less money so just shop around and stop paying the brand tax

    1. Patagonia jackets are warm as shit and durable
    2. They are not that expensive, they’re costco tier
    3. Do not be a polyester sperg about winter outerwear
    4. They have tons of things that are 100% natural material

Saw the same shit for superdry while i was searching for a long one in a store during "black friday".
120 bucks despite being recycled plastic and polyester, would’ve understood if the filling was feathers or someshit, but nope.

i got a raincoat from patagonia at 50% and it’s great. you just have to wait for sales and be careful with what you are buying, obviously i’m not buying 200-300 dollars for anything from them but around 100 is a deal

people are hecking stupid for around 30€ you can get a decent winter coat from aliexpress or temu, it’s all the same shit they just put a nice logo on it and charge you extra for having a western brand, all this shit comes from the same asian factories

Patagonia actually has some very, very well made shit. Hemp Forge shit is pretty hecking awesome. The lifetime warranty is legit. I just sent a down jacket back to them because of a few rips and they sent me a 250 dollar gift card to buy a new one. I got the jacket on sale a few winters ago for half that.

I love their hoodies, very roomy, great size on the hood so it falls on your head rather than stretch and shit, thick and warm

You’re paying for a brand that is known for 2 things.
Quality and Ethics. Ethics being the biggest reason their stuff is pricey.
Roughly comparable to OR, Arc’teryx, Mountain Hard wear, Cotopaxi etc.
Montebells puffys are warmer, Decatholans are cheaper.
    North Face isnt as Ethical.
    Fjalraven doesnt use Gortex.
That said Patagonia Capaline is maybe the best base layer currently.

    That said its a hecking T shirt, I haven’t bought a t shirt in like 4 years.

Things are turning around, last year was the Year of the Microplastics/Forever chemicals. Normies (aka non-"climate change" gays) are finally starting to turn against synthetic materials.

    >Patagonia is the "ethical" brand, focusing on making their products with recycled "enviro-friendly" polyester
    >even though polyester and other synthetic clothing fibers are literally THE biggest contributor to microplastics in the ocean, due to synthetic fabrics shedding microfibers via washing machines, the wastewater of which inevitably gets dumped into the ocean
    >85% of microplastics gathered from seawater are microfibers from polyester and other synthetic materials
    >despite this, the vast majority of the clothes Patagonia sells are polyester
    >even hecking t-shirts and other basic clothes that absolutely do not need to be polyester blends
    >it would unironically be more ethical to axe the entire company and stop selling their toxic clothing than to donate 100% of their profits to bullshit environmental charities or whatever else they’re currently doing

That schizo rant is great and all and I’m sure you’re very worked up but
      1. Patagonia will buy back or recycle old clothes and
      2. No one cares

Women fall for this shit SO easily, all a manufacturer has to say is they’re "ethical", put a little bullshit blurb on their website, and no matter what they do, they’re considered "ethical" by all women. They never look into it, they never think about it, they operate on pure emotion, which is why women shouldn’t be allowed to vote.
