Linux noob here. Every time i try to -Syu i get this error:

error: failed retrieving file 'archlinuxfr.db' from repo.archlinux.fr§ : The requested URL returned error: 404
error: failed to synchronize all databases (failed to retrieve some files)

archlinux.fr is a dead mirror but i dont even have it in my pacman.d mirrorlist file. How do i stop pacman trying to update it? How do i find the packages that are installed from that mirror?

Check again. Also there is probably mirror list.pacnew nearby - use it.

    easy fix while people reply:
    open /etc/hosts
add a new line and route archlinux.fr to archlinux.com or any other mirror you want
    archlinux.fr archlinux.com

I did but it still get the same error. Do i need to do anything else other than just rewriting that mirrorlist file?

Debian doesn't have this problem. Use Debian instead of some hobbyist distro.
