my neighbor is selling his is-f, 18k for one with 80k miles, was wondering if it would make for a good purchase as a daily.
lexus is-f good purchase?

Will be great if you can afford the running costs.
Even if it's a 2008 I would buy it today. Are you sure it's an IS-F and not one of those IS350 F sport bullshits?
looked round it and asked him. he says its an is-f and im pretty sure its an is-f
You can verify that using the VIN
Wow that’s a great deal, 100% buy
Just fucking look at it retards, christ sake there are so many visual differences. The front bumper, fenders, quad exhaust, oh and I don’t know, maybe the fucking V8? “Oooh yeah check the VIN” You are fucking retarded.
LULZ is low IQ
A 2nd gen IS350 is pretty based, 0-60 its almost the same as an ISF, and i believe the the 350 f sport shares similar suspension components. An ISF will pull on it on the freeway but the 350 costs a fraction of the price
I don't know how the fuck the 3rd gen managed to be such a downgrade over the 2nd gen, performance wise
handling and transmission shift time is much better in the 3rd gen but the 2nd gen's gearing was much better for straight line performance
well that gearing sure as shit seems to matter considering a 2nd gen has almost an entire second to 60 over a 3rd gen
I would purchase it instantly. A slightly tamer v8 m3 without the headaches and keeps up most modern muscle cars
They’re neat, the v8 is pretty reliable as well. It was basically a more boring e92 M3. Spending more on gas and consumables is part and parcel to owning a high performance vehicle so be prepared. Also wouldn’t hurt to have a shop look at it so there aren’t any surprises.
good deal. buy it
I had a 2011
feel free to ask me anything about it
what year is it?
18k for <100k miles is also a fantastic deal regardless of year
Why did you sell it and what price and milage was it at when you sold yours?
didn't sell it
a kid that looked barely a day over 16 floored it turning into an intersection without looking while I was halfway through it and hit me head on
F
my body was fine, a very crash-safe car
my soul, however, was crushed
damn son. did he have insurance? what car did you get after?
yeah he had insurance
I got exactly what I paid for it which is 30k, the problem being the average price for an ISF went up 10k-20k since I got it
I got a 3rd gen WRX instead which is okay, a major downgrade in the speed and reliability categories but the AWD is something I should have gone with in the first place considering the winters around me
very livable very fun
it is, however, much more of a muscle sedan than a sports sedan especially if you're comparing to a BMW
it's got a heavy feel to it but God damn is it fun to floor off the line
pro tip: the stock tires are 225s front/255s rear but you can fit 245s on the front & 275s on the rear with the stock wheels which I personally liked
the gearbox is smooth as butter but takes a second to respond if you drop a couple gears down if you're doing a pull
bulletproof reliability to boot
the ISF is an 8 speed and in my opinion as good as it gets for a non dual clutch auto
the head valley leak is like a 1-in-100 thing and really only needs to be re-sealed every 100k miles
the water pump is also something that had a reputation to fail but apart from those 2 things the 2UR-GSE is one of the most well-built V8s out there
2014 328xi. relatively fun to drive but the reliability has been an issue. i imagine the is f will be fun to drive.
i would, but i dont trust my kike of a neighbor. i told him if he could hold off on listing the car, he said alright. still doubt him though. he gave me the vin and i ran it, its definitely an is f and not an is350 bs
if the guy listens to me i should be able to drive off with the thing wednesday. need to sell the bmw first but that shouldnt be a problem
fun but also much more reliable if your neighbor took care of it
you can tell the year by looking at the dash, wheels, and headlights
>2008-2009: 10 spoke fan shaped wheels, no DRL strip on headlights, speedometer and tach are same size next to eachother
>2010: some but not all of the 2011 upgrades it varies car to car
>2011-2014: snowflake pattern wheels, headlights have DRL strip, tach front and center on dash
the post facelift model also received a LSD and upgraded suspension which was much needed to improve ride quality
Sorry to hear that, bro. Hope you got out okay.
2011, i was wondering if it was livable as a sporty daily. i would be getting rid of an auto 3 series and the gearbox in that infuriates me. i know how to drive manual but its pretty annoying with my commute, so i was wondering if this would be a decent alternative
What year is the 3 series? If your car has a ZF8 transmission the 6 speed in the IS-F will not be an improvement
How are the transmissions in these?
like I said, the best autotragic you can get short of dual clutch
>Slow as absolute fuck for a V8.
>Auto only.
>Has a mirror that covers the cupholder that women use for make up so it's a girl car.
Post car
That F shit is all garbage fucking torque converter auto only loving homosexual. Oh and the vertically stacked exhaust is riced the fuck out. Kys
Post car
There's no point in me showing you shit if you're the type of """"""man"""""""" looking at this car
Post car
it’s a car, you are reading too deep into it.
the open diff ones were getting priced up close to 30k before the covid retardation
i dont even know where theyre at now i left the lexus pages when i dumped my is350
I had one for 3 years. A 2011 model. They are amazing. Surprisingly good on fuel and bulletproof motor. The ONLY issue they have is a coolant leak in the head valley. Cost me $1000 they they will apply a better sealant.
Other than that It LOVES to be revved hard as much as possible.
I love mine and will never let it go. It will probably outlive me and I will most likely pass it on to my son when he gets older.
have you thought about hunting down and upgrading to the post-facelift model?
>kike listed it and sold it behind my back, all within a day
shouldve never trusted that fuck. ive missed out on a cool car. will be hanging myself after burning a cross on his lawn.
shut down the thread boys
shame
personally I would strangled him to death
Lucky bastard
Oof nvm
I bought mine 5 years ago and its the best purchase i've made.
One major repair (coolant leak onto the valley plate) and has been my daily since purchase. No issues whatsoever. 18k is a steal and I'd hop on that right away.
