It's easier if you start with existing lua code, like in games:

No. Rayman 2 was great!
Unfortunately, it triggered some "piracy protection" by my PC and I never finished it, since it displayed a giant pirate head full screen after the fire level.
Kinda makes me wonder why no one has made a new rayman-like game. That style of game has died tbh, I miss them

not that anon but I really liked Rayman too but wasn't it the classic "levels" kind of game? like mario or tons of other games that I can't name right now. basically move a character to the destination, avoid getting killed, jump, climb and collect stuff

Mario is a given, I'm talking something else than it. I mean, is Mario, come on

I find dark souls being similar in feel. Just add double jumps and you're golden.
I think it's a poor first language due to going against the norm with how it does things like array indexing starting on 1 instead of 0 like most languages so you will pick up bad habits.

WHERE IS MY RAYMAN 4 BITCH
We got Origins and Legends, stop being so butthurt.
Those are 2d, they dont count
2D Rayman > 3D Rayman
Said no one ever
3D rayman was so cool, plus the extra dimension gave a lot of room to play with the powers

it's easy as fuck, especially for modding. i remember making some simple mods for san andreas multiplayer when i was like 16 lol
3D rayman games were great, i think both are pretty good. rayman is kino.
perl is better, I'm not joking
Learning Lua with the Love2D engine right now, it's pretty good for game dev
LUA: We looked at BASIC and said, "Can this suck more?"
Man I miss the rayman 3d games, they were so good
Now we are stuck with those shitty 2d platforms...
yes
its also a gateway language to learning C
