it never krashes for me but it has unbelievably shit performance on my optimus laptop whenever an external display is plugged in, like it suddenly loses the ability to render even the desktop wallpaper at higher than 20 fps (and this is on a 3060)
if they succeed in forcing it on people I'm just gonna have to go back to windows >"you should be blaming nvidia"
not my problem
it's not because I can just use X11, which is perfectly smooth and performant
wayland fags will be MAKING it my problem if they succeed at removing X11 support from major DEs
and it won't make me go protest at nvidia headquarters, it'll just make me go back to Windows
millions will join me
They won't succeed this is purely non organic push. Their only argument is > muh modern make it modern whatever that meant .Oh its old change it.
That kind of shit only works in coorporate management when trying to reinvent the wheel in order to create more work and increase your importance.
Nvidia has 90% of the GPU market share. It's very much a Wayland problem if they don't play ball with the biggest players in the space. X11 will always be king until they start bending the knee to Nvidia because at the end of the day people want their system to work. Maybe you should get onto AMD for making such garbage hardware if you want a nicer market leader.
not him, but Intel has probably 80% market share, because 90% of devices sold don't have dedicated GPU

yeah most stuff has integrated graphics
but it's pretty clear that he meant 90% of discrete gpus in personal computers. it's quite nitpicky to add all those extra specifiers. >nvidia has 0.0001% market share because some aliens on faraway planets have computers but they don't have nvidia!!!!!!!!!!

but you are the one adding extra qualifiers for no reason
>nvidia has 100% market share if you only look at discrete gpus of desktop pcs owned by nvidia fanboys
Who cares if someone runs a discrete gpu or not here? How is that relevant to anything in this thread?

If someone tells you they have "a GPU", would you immediately think "oh yeah he just means his integrated graphics" or would you assume he means dedicated GPU?
Fucking autistic homosexual. >nvidia has 90% of gpu market share
this obviously means >nvidia has 90% of DEDICATED GPU market share in PERSONAL COMPUTERS

I assume a general GPU, which includes mobile, integrated, discrete, etc..
Why would I assume he means a dedicated graphics card?
Not to mention the whole discussion started with someone bitching about OPTIMUS - a mobile GPU technology!
You are the only one here obsessed with discrete GPUs, retard.

oh ok you're just autistic and retarded. carry on.
The test is garbage because it tests against a GNOME/KDE implementation of a X11 compositor.
It's clear GNOME/KDE don't like X11 so they don't spend any resources on their X11 compositors.
You can't blame X11 for shortcomings of GNOME/KDE.

OH GOD ITS BURNING DOWN THE HOUSE
And why are you running Gnome/KDE if you're worried about resource usage? Why not use a lightweight WM...oh wait you don't have those anymore.

Then don't use Gnome, dumb-dumb.
Sway dubs on any Xorg WM
Shitty i3 clone. And I don't even care for the original i3.
Stop using KDE
Even GNOME works better on X.

not my problem
nvidia's fault as usual, they don't support modifiers
>not my problem
it very clearly is your problem
it's not because I can just use X11, which is perfectly smooth and performant
wayland fags will be MAKING it my problem if they succeed at removing X11 support from major DEs

cool, please go back
it's good when the homosexuals who just want Linux to be their secret treehouse go mask off

retarded sheep don't matter
feel free to leave this website if you don't like it
Freetards huffing copium.
>real data is copium
Stream your suicide proprietranny
>Nvidia has 90% of the GPU market share.
You are thinking of intel. Intel has 71% global GPU marketshare.
>Nvidia has 90% of the GPU market share.
lol nvidia has only 10% of the mobile GPU market, which is what most people on the world actually use
discrete GPUs are just for mining crypto and AI nowadays
>Nvidia has 90% of the GPU market share on desktop PCs with discrete graphics cards (less than 5% of the market, lol get fucked virgins)
ftfy
they have 90% of the gpu market share in datacenters and AI processing shit as well
seethe more AYYMDEAD shill

works on my machine
cool, but it's not ready until it works on everyone's machine
it's features, I want normies out
>wayland just werks
>wayland is janky on purpose to keep normies out
pick one, you can't have both
It's okay if it's janky because it has so many great features that X lacks, like uhh and errr
like not burning my battery and CPU
> uncomposited X11 not tested
useless benchmark.

touch grass

I never said it just works, it works, but you have to workaround few things, like everything in Linux, which for people of IQ 100+ is not a problem
I'm waiting for the Y window system... since 2004.
