fail miserably, achieve greatly
Congrats, no one gives a fuck
I think you overpaid there...
Your script is broken
Ok and? Why are you telling us this? Do you think we give a shit?
you're mom gives me head lol
Just spent 15$ and a packet of cigarettes on your mom
lel
thats nothing
????
How
>brakes
$40 for the front at most
$40 for the rear at most
>tires
$150 a tire at most
>total
$700 is the highest i could even manage to imagine.
Shit is so much cheaper usually, just paid for rear tires at $65 for each $120 cash deal
Put new brakes on both my cars one was $15 for a set of pads and the other was $25
>$40 for the front at most
>$40 for the rear at most
pad slapping is ultimate poorfag shit, at least get the $30 rotors off Rockauto or something. Brings it to a whopping $100 an axle getting good pads and decent rotors.
Unless the rotors are warped, worn down thin, cracked, or scored theres no reason to replace them.
Pad slaps are the number one cause of comebacks at my shop. I always warn the service desk retards not to sell that shit because the customer inevitably comes back wanting free shit because their new brakes are noisy, even if the rotors don't look terrible. You get worse pad life, more squeaks, and worse braking performance if the braking surface isn't either new or resurfaced. Unless you're an ultimate poorfag or don't give a shit about brake noise and reduced pad life, it's not a good idea.
I dont give a shit. Im the mechanic its my car the pads are $20 the rotors are rare items gfys
Then suffer with your shittier brakes, poorfag
>Can't buy blanks and drill them
>Verification not required.
Cant find new rotors period
What obscure shitbox do you have that brake rotors are impossible to find?
Datsun 510

Do the 280zx front brake upgrade then. Bolt on a 280zx strut+hub+rotor+caliper and you'll have plenty of parts availability at your disposal. Classics, especially of the Japanese sort, require some creativity to keep on the road, you can only pad slap those rotors so long before they literally wear away to dust.
Ive done this retro fir on other 510. Its more involved than that and i dont want to fuck with it. Sorry "slapping pads" on my old ass car isnt up to your standards
can you get the rotors turned? There's only one shop around here that still does it, but it's like 50 bucks and should give you a flat surface for at least a little while.
Orielys used to do that
There's one family owned shop that still has a brake lathe that I know of....i guess it's not worth bothering for 99% of cars.
probably went to les schwab or some shit
It's even worse on my car, an '18 chevy camaro. I was pricing it out since I'm going to need tires and front rotors soon.
>tires
$1450 for the set, $150 for install
>brakes
OE front rotors: $860
alternatively, non-OE replacement front rotor rings: $800
OE rear rotors: $225
OE pads for all 4 corners: $400
Over 3k for everything. Pay to play!
>OE rotors
Is there any actual point to changing them?
yes, GM is notorious for making jello rotors that get eaten up compared to literally anything else. your only real option is to buy expensive third party alternatives. if youre a retarded pleb you buy OEM ones like that camaro turd and youre stuck in GMs israelite cycle
source: have a corvette
Sweet jesus. And thats just for parts?
Find me a decent 275/65r18 that won't be a hockey puck in 10*f weather for under $200 a tire
Please actually do this for me I don't wanna spend $1000 for tires
depends on what pads OP got. if they're some fancier pad for street + track use then they're gonna cost a pretty penny. i bought some nip dixcel pads because nobody else seems to have performance pads for my car. cost about 500 usd with shipping. Can say that they do hold up to some pretty hard driving but will make your wheels black in no time. small price to pay for great brakes however.
i also went all out and had the rotors cryo treated so they'd last much longer.
its called owning a real sports car and not some shit bag miata made from scraps
Ive had porsche 944, 280z, 928. None of them even reached those prices. New shit is gay and expensive
>just spent $1500 on new tires and rims
Totally worth it. Previous rims were so out of round that they'd never hold balance. Lost 18 lbs on all four corners. The most noticeable thing is that the car takes twice as long to coast to a stop. I think this is going to send me on a lightness obsession whenever I get around to getting another car.
The next lightweight mod is for me to lose weight.
how many curbs were harmed?
Actually I don't hit curbs. Most of the damage is from sending the car airborne and driving it crashing over potholes and washboards at full send. Those rims were absolutely toast. I'm surprised they didn't crack. Suspension also had to be replaced alongside the rims and tires, the shocks did not like the accelerated wear and tear. Sounded like machinegun fire when they blew.
It's amazing what an extra 3/4" of sidewall will do with downsized rims and upsized tires. Car is quiet, comfy, and I can run over things with impunity. I'll probably blow the struts again in 4 years, I'll either scrap the car or add in a higher performance set of springs and remote shocks.
I should probably get something that's meant to handle that a bit better, but I can wait a bit for prices to drop.
only cost me 1400
I spent 1600 on tires. Dick Cepek Extreme Country. 33x12.5”
>285/30/22 tires cost $2900 USD
>Brakes another $1000
Feels bad man, you gotta pay to play hombres IFKTYK
>So, here were my options. I could either:
>A) hold the throttle to keep the car stable, then quickly catch the slide to maintain control and gently bleed off speed, or
>B) stab the brakes in panic to unsettle the car, then overcorrect and fishtail into the divider and bend the control arm.
>Hrm, should've gone with A.
