but its also worth noting that prayers, especially in the modern era, do not do anything, or at least nothing major, from what i've asked of a christian friend its just a sign that you're talking to god and he likes it, but take my words with a grain of salt, im still learning about christianity as someone whose not christian, at least not fully.
when my father was potentially dying in hospital i prayed alot but not for him to get better like a wish, more for strength to deal with the situation for him and also me to be able to be there for my mother and sisters. It helped. He did get better also, but it was moreso the fact of if he did die in that scenario I would have been already at peace with my circumstances.
