only caveat is the windscreen wipers look out of place
it looks even better than the original protoype

lol yeah it's the windscreen wipers that look off
it look smaller
cybertruggs are cool
The windshield wiper was an afterthought to the design because lasers.
Seriously.
Musk originally said there would be a laser system to remove rain from the windshield.
i 'member
He also said that the windows could take a steel ball.
Why not just Rain-X the windshield monthly?
I thought the interior looked dramatically worse.
The older prototypes looked way better imo.
Inside and out, this is one hell of a brutalist looking shitbox.
Fuck this thing and it's LOD looking ass
I think it looks really cool with the doors out like this.
It’s like a metal fish with gills.
It looks good as in it is an interesting art-piece like that, I agree. Still wouldn't say it looks good as a car, not to mention that I can't name a single reason you would ever have all four doors open at once for more than maybe 5 seconds at a time.
Imagine going to a soul crushing office job in an even more soul crushing oppressive vehicle
it's brutalism. the soviets made ugly architecture on purpose to demoralize people.
I don't think that's why they did it but it's certainly a perk.
then youre an idiot
It was mostly about function and erecting as many buildings as possible after every country in Europe was flattened retard.
Looks a bit small, the people standing near it seem to tower over it. I thought this was supposed to be some F150 beater.
A lot of new cars don't look much more modern than 80's stuff such as jeeps. Still feels like we have basically mid 90's style.
Looking at the bottom it is basically a Model S platform with a ute body slapped on.
to me this is the most absurd part of this whole thing
all they had to do was rebody a model x with this dumbass steel truck body and sell it for +10% margin compared to the lightning and rivian
they could have had first mover advantage, expanded into a different market segment, and further cemented the superiority of their charging networks
the overall stagnation of the quirky startup commanded by an eccentric billionaire just shows that they've run out of 'disruption'
each month this thing doesn't get delivered is a massive advantage to the relativly slow moving legacy carmakers
gm, vw, toyota all know how to make a fucking car and they may be slow/cautious to adopt new/risky technology but when tesla ceeds their advantages to these behemoths they become worthless
It all comes down to costs. This truck will have longer range and will be cheaper than anything else on the market.
Tesla is a luxury brand, they CAN'T sell it cheaper, it would damage the brand image.
There's a reason that Mercedes made Smart, BMW has Mini, GM has both Cadillac and Chevrolet, Ford has Lincoln, Dodge has Chrysler.
Branding is the largest part of selling fucking anything, is Tesla wants to move downmarket they'll have to make a sub brand (Edison maybe, but I assume GE has that trademark) or they'll drag the ENTIRE BRAND down
Tesla is not a luxury brand.
They started out as an technology-themed exotic maker, but then moved to mass market cars.
A model 3 is cheaper to lease than a Civic but Insurance companies will still classify it as a “luxury” car to demand more sheckles.
Only people who want to distort what Tesla is will call it a “luxury” brand.
For example there’s Tesla fanboys who will say it beat bmw or whatever in luxury car sales but then include the model 3 in that count.
They are of course wrong and retarded to do this.
Model 3 is on the same level as a 3 series anyway
Dude Elon has interviews talking about how electric vehicles are still the domain of the wealthy. Tesla only in the last investor day mentioned a mass market car/pod
Its a total scam.
The tires are recaps.
The wheels are fucking retarded and will either blow a tire when it hits a pothole or pop-off if it's a hubcap.
I'm still amazed at that press briefing when he smashed the window.
Did they seriously not test that beforehand?
Did they test it and the window was damaged/fatigued from the initial strike and they thought it could take another hit?
I don't care about the meme "bulletproof" glass. Its mainly the fact that this car has almost no innovation going on above and beyond their other cars and yet it has been delayed so long. By the time this thing hits the road it will have a competitor from all 3 American makes plus Rivian. The fact that all these electric "trucks" besides the F-150 are unibodys with 4 wheel independent suspension is kind of a joke as well. Would be cool to see a manufacturer take it seriously and build a full-frame truck with good ground clearance and an electric beam axle.
The IRS on the F150 looks like chintzy weak shit
they're hubcaps, with a bespoke sidewall design that's gonna make those covers either look like absolute shit or not fit at all when it needs new tires and you either can't get the original meme tires or want something different (like an off road tire instead of highway tread)
The tire isn't really aligned with the wheel there so maybe you can rotate the hubcap to line up. That wheel itself looks way better than the stupid caps though, actually a nice design wasted by being hidden. Tesla did the same shit with the Model 3 too.
That's actually supposed to improve aero for about 0.2 Cd
It's really funny because the billionaire took a set of bald street tires off the demo truck he drives around L.A. and had them recapped with off-road tread for that photo op pic here
I still think the entire thing is a scam just so Musk can drive the only functioning prototype on the street legally with manufacturer's plates- so he can flex without the fear of having it impounded and crushed. (California has crushed multi-million dollar exotics with no fucks given).
>I still think the entire thing is a scam just so Musk can drive the only functioning prototype on the street legally with manufacturer's plates
>These are the retards you share oxygen with
You know that he's been driving it around L.A. for years, right?
Here it is with his manufacturer plate.
>You know that he's been driving it around L.A. for years, right?
There is no source for that. Even if it was a few times; is a nonsensical thing to mention. There are ramifications to directly stating it WILL be produced this year. Mass production at scale will happen 2024. The biggest injection metal molds in the world have been shipped to Giga Texas to make it.
He literally takes it to the clubs.
There's even videos of him running red lights to get away from paparazzi.
based elon
like the red hair one death staring the photographer
And this isn't a one time event.
It's weekly.
California is a socialist hell hole so it makes sense they love taking peoples property away
supposedly the glass cracked because they had been pounding on the door with the sledgehammer before hand. Supposedly the design issue that caused it is fixed.
it's a comfy landbarge disguised as a truck for legal purposes, like many trucks are
I thought the rivan looked bad enough with its mickey mouse headlights, but this is a whole new level of retard design
>designer with cupcake video game mind
>"I KNOW WHAT TO DO"
The Rivian actually looked nice, some don't like the headlights big whoop. The cyber truck is full on bad design and I've yet to meet anyone that wasn't a tesla fanboy that could justify its horrendous looks.
Rivian is silly. I live in a limousine liberal capital and have seen multiple on the road. Conversely I get lots of mean stares in my widebody Hellcat
The Rivian look like a gay sex toy. Probably a huge hit with the prius crowd though
Interior on the new truck by comparison.
They deleted the middle seat which is my biggest issue.
Replaced it with a goofy looking center console plateau.
Also the egg wheel looks stupid.
Either go full yoke or full wheel, none of this wonk middle ground shit.
yokes are always fucking stupid, just use a wheel
that looks like an empty school cupboard
how depressing
Better res picture.
Still hideous.
Try to make a minimalist dash. Still end up with a busy waste of space. Why?
I don't think front bench seats pass safety standards anymore.
What a shame.
You can still get a bench seat on all the big 3's 1500s
You can at least get one on a Ford HD as well.
To be fair they aren't true bench seats it's more like 3 bucket seats really close together sometimes they can move back and forward independently so they aren't very comfy to lay on or sit inbetween two seats
Yeah and (at least on the Ford SDs) you lose half the cab features when you switch to bench seat.
Still neat.
Oh yeah you aren't going to be able to ramp something up and then lift it into half lock with the thing still half way on the gate. It seems like you either ramp something short up and then close the gate completely or you put it in the normal open position and use it like you would any other bed.
it looks like dogshit made for the california hellscape
Why do they put the screen where nobody can see it comfortably?
This built-in computer shit is so retarded - why don't they just put in a fold out desk with a charger so I can use my laptop comfortably?
And remove the center console since there's no transmission tunnel?
I think eventually when they come up with self driving (two more weeks lol), but if they do, the car cabin will logically transmogrify into a complete computer desktop.
Because with your hands free while driving you’ll want to be clacking away on a keyboard or something of that nature.
And they don’t need to fit everything into a laptop form factor because they have the whole car’s space to make use of.
So by the end of this process it will literally be a desktop on wheels.
But for now you still need to keep your hands on the steering wheel.
So you’re only going to get babymode touchpads for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
First, I don't necessarily want to wait for the full self driving breakthrough. I also don't want more non-car shit built into my car. They came out with the games console thing in Teslas which is like a $8k upgrade, literally only 16x more expensive than a PS5 but functionally identical.
There is a general trend of 'thing' costing X, but 'thing but in car' costing 10X while being shittier and not upgradable.
I know what I want. Give me a desk, and a power outlet inside my car so I can drive to some remote spot in the middle of nowhere and work from there. EVs have 2 big advantages over regular cars in this area- you have almost unlimited power as in you can run a household for days off an EV battery and the ability to run the AC without running a gas engine. It could be a tiny vacation home on wheels.
You do have a point actually.
I guess they just want to push Tesla OS and keep other operating systems out of their cars.
Also just a reminder you’d need satellite internet to do any remote work.
>Also just a reminder you’d need satellite internet to do any remote work.
Say hello to Starlink and both are owned by Elon Musk, so wouldn't be surprised with a Starlink antenna addon in the future to give you unlimited internet access worldide.
WHERE IS MY MARBLE COUNTERTOP?
Fixed it
Tesla is the master at making interiors that look unfinished.
Well, that image is in fact, unfinished.
>Vaporware
Wake me up if and when it's shipping.
I would rather sit my bare naked ass on doug demuros head than sit in anything made by tesla
>That little tiny camera
brutalism looks cool. the sóymobile tesla isn't brutalist nor cool, it's just ugly. the only thing it has going for it is that it looks different.
Tfw my library
toronto (and canada, really) was based when i visited
>
Absolutely absurd air suspension.
The size of those cans are ridiculous.
This truck weighs a fuckload, so the suspension makes sense.
That suspension arm and ball joint looks awfully flimsy for an "off-road vehicle". Would be cool if they made some electric solid axle setup for the truck.
>Truck with no bench seat
They don't even have an excuse with the transmission tunnel or shifter
>Plastic cosmetic ground clearance
Lmao
It's okay I guess. At least it's something different and not a crossover
The cybertruck may be the epitomy of what people dislike about EVs, but at least they went all the way. It's not just some blobby eDrive Hybrid Planet Saver Lightning Zap 3000 Tree Edition, it's a dedicated electric vehicle with a design intended to maximize battery space
the future is here
Has Brubaker contacted Musk about copyright infringement?
You can't copyright a shape
Wow, what a ugly fucking truck. Jesus H Christ.
I think they may have deleted the ramp as well.
The new truck has a greatly shortened tailgate height.
Which may make the ramp unviable.
Disappointing because the ramp was one of the actual trugg-related features they showed off.
[pic related, top is old, bottom is new]
>Disappointing because the ramp was one of the actual trugg-related features they showed off.
Only on the surface, though. In reality it was stupid because it's a short bed truck and being able to use the tailgate to extend the bed is critical, and the ramp made that impractical.
Couldn't you just lock it in a half way position?
For plywood or whatever, sure, but it seems like it'd be a challenge if you're using the ramp to get an over-long thing like a dirtbike or ATV in there, trying to lift the gate with weight on it would probably be a problem.
Looks like some of the changes were regulatory compliance items.
Damn gubmint.
>no emergency handle inside trunk that's mandated
>no rear door handle to get out in case of crash.
Tesla has gotten away with "fuck you" multiple times and nothing was done about it.
They are following the laws, anon. Full stop.
Idk why, but every time I see a thumbnail of this thing I always see a computer mouse for a split second.
Mouse truck?
Mouse Truck.
looks like a child made that
>
That looks like a Hyundai elantra on the bottom
Reminder that Tesla runs GNU/Linux, they opened their patents, and are in the process to make their charging system a standard.
They are a GNU/Car.
tesla uses linux fag.
Kek at the mud tires, those will cut the shit range down by half. Zero chance they sell it with knobbies, it's going to have some minivan tires for sure.
>When the graphics don't pop-in
Shit looks like Lara crofts tits on ps1
Mouse Truck.
pictures make it look like a midget car.
cybertruck would be cool if you voodoo swapped it
cybertruck looks good but it's an electric car, which is incredibly homosexual
>perfect for low poly farmers
>guys, meet our new lead designer
I wanna see a crate hemi swap
