I like Revenge, but I think they’ve gone too far by their nonstop plastering of dead artist’s faces on their clothing, when purportedly at least one artist had issues with the brand before their death. What are some clothing brands that take inspiration from hardcore, from punk thru 2000’s skater-punk, hip-hop, is there a word for this "core"?

I was going to make my own thread to post my thoughts about this, but I’ll just post here instead.

Having just returned from a month and a half in Japan there is one very major thing I noticed; everyone that pays attention to their appearance there focuses on their own body rather than their clothes. Everyone looks amazing even if they dress in basic outfits or fully thrifted outfits because they pay attention to how they look without or without clothes. Pic related summarises it, as much as I hate to post a Wojak adjacent image.

In the west, we have people like who base their entire appearance and personality around looking as ridiculous as possible or

in which the people look unremarkable but are obviously ‘trying’ with their clothes. Then we have the ‘looksmaxxers’ who are, in a way, correct; focus on the appearance of yourself first, then clothing comes after. It’s funny how Rick Owens essentially said the same thing in 2009
      >Working out is modern couture. No outfit is going to make you look or feel as good as having a fit body. Buy less clothing and go to the gym instead.
Rick and some of the zoomers are both saying the same thing using different words. My experience there has illustrated this to me and I’ll now follow.

yes fr, i think the style of these baggy clothes is actually pretty cool but all the print stuff just makes it silly

Spamming oversized clothes with no regards to proportion or silhouette other than DUDE EVERYTHING IS BIG LMAO XD is a giant red flag to anyone who isn’t interested in fashion because it’s current a trend to be.

Zoomercore is insecure stupid core. No other generation’s fashion reeks of insecurity more than zoomer fashion. They have nothing of their own either. They just repurpose fashion from older generations and pretend to be meta stupids to hide their unoriginality.

I don’t know about all of that, but I will say it’s perhaps the most unoriginal generation of fashion. It’s an amalgamation of regurgitating the prior.

Yes, I do know past gens of fashion would often mimic a past trend, but it was partial, not entire.

if you paid an inch of attention you would see the differences.
the old ‘y2k’ stuff is all made from cheap thin plastic fabrics, the new stuff is all top of the line cotton and other luxurious materials. it highlights the leaps fabric technology has gone trough in the past 20 years.

it feels weird as an older zoomer/"zillennial" to see this kind of thing come back ironically when i can still remember a time when it was in magazines unironically
is the loop getting faster? i thought this was supposed to happen between generations not within them
