I don’t know, I feel like socks can really tie an outfit together. Less so the long white socks, but neutral colored shoes and shorts with some colored socks and a similar colored shirt can work really well imo

It’s dependent on what you’re wearing. Beyond that, this is the type of shit only autistic gays on the internet like us notice. Normies don’t pay attention to this stuff you guys.

it’s not necessarily bad, but i’d say unless you’re a skater or from the west coast don’t do it cause everyone will think you’re a skater

    – don’t wear socks with a nike-logo, not only looks that cheap but you will actually get a lower sock quality for the same price you could have get somewhere else.
    – don’t wear vans, not that the sneaker itself had a bad design, but it is a rip-off, you pay many times the real value of this type of sneaker just because of the brand name, buy a similar sneaker somewhere else instead.

Vans are like $50 they’re one of the cheapest shoes money can buy. Yeah, they’re made like shit but you certainly aren’t paying for branding.

Here they are 90€, but honestly I would pay more for a better quality canvas sneaker, modern Converse All-star are really cheap and overpriced too, but Converse One-Star is okay quality for the price.

    no-show socks are so cringe
I keep seeing people advocating for no-show socks and it blows my mind how people can be so wrong

literally doesn’t matter, shorts are super casual so there really aren’t any rules. pic related looks fine

no-show is a shitty r/mfa trend that everyone’s going to cringe at in 5 years, like skinny jeans and peacoats

People seem to criticize it a lot but I don’t think it looks bad. Admittedly, the white socks with the black shoes don’t look the best though.

looks fine to me. its hot in the summer . I dont’ always have ankle socks . usually I have shorter socks , but sometimes laundry needs to be done.

        im 34. idgaf

Black shoes, black low cut socks. Simple, practical.
When I wear shorts the weather is allready over 30C so I wear as less as can.

this is such an insightful video i think i’ll disregard it completely and do it anyway because who hecking cares

    It’s a really young look.
If you’re a 13-18 year old who skates/plays sports it will look fine.
If you’re a 35 year old man you’ll look hecking stupid.

It messes up your proportions. the male body is nicely divided between the neck and shoulders, at the pelvis, and halfway down the legs (around the knees). When your outfit creates a striking contrast at some other horizontal line, it can give the optical illusion of having weird body proportions. This is also at play with the way your jeans break on your legs.

High socks can look good on women, because it creates an extra horizontal divide thus giving them the illusion of being shorter, and there are some societal and/or biological reasons why this is appealing on women and not on men. It also looks childish and therefore disarming, which is an impression I think women want to give off more often than men do.

It’s an athletic look from our school days. I still rock it from time to time in my 20s but probably won’t after 30.

        • Anonymous says:

so you’re not going to wear shorts at 30? or long socks + shorts?

I don’t understand once you turn 30 it isn’t suddenly a time to switch your WHOLE wardrobe. no one really cares about you. you can wear whatever you want. no one gives a shit.

30 is not some hard cutoff but at 26 I already find myself wearing shorts less often than I did at 22 (which was way less often than I did at 16). Just natural I reckon. Hell I went to my first ever club/bar at 18 wearing shorts, I wouldn’t do that today.

I guess I could imagine that. you’d have to wear shorts all year.

            >hot weather
            >shorts
            >colder weather
            >pants

I don’t think you need to over think this tho. turning 30 isn’t this magic number where now you have to cut out certain things. sure graphic t shirts maybe. but no one cares.
