Is this even realistic? 10k for a 8 year old car with an engine over 150k? I thought CL was supposed to be better than sealerships

Yeah that's just the market these days. My 2007 Corolla with 150,000 miles is still worth at least $8k apparently
I have 0 car and feel like if I had ANY car I'd be better off because even old cars are worth a lot like
how do I get in the game?
I bought it 7 years ago for 13k . Living with parents at the time and having a job helped.
you overpaid imo but glad it retained value.
Probably. I remember it being really difficult at the time to find one that had working AC and didn't look like dogshit
My 05 Tacoma with over 230k is still apparently worth 10k somehow
>150k
Damn, they didn't even break it in for you.

Can confirm.
250Kmiles is about when you start seeing maintenance 'issues' like, the PCV valve may need to be cleaned, or one of the lug nuts is getting a bit manky from all those tire rotations.
*First world problems*
>250k
That's the first oil change.
If you swap it with synthetic, it'll be good until your first million miles.

Prettymuch
At 170,000 miles, car's needed a water pump, 1 wheel bearing, and engine mounts. And of the lug nuts - too many digga-diggas with the impact at tire shops.
Offer them $7k cash. Most of these are sitting on the market for months with listings like these.

No. Not one bit.

Different markets

The point still stands though. Paying 10k for a high mileage Toyota is still a ripoff.
Buy an old Diesel Mercedes instead
>Buying a Mercedes
What's the selling point, other than 'style'?
Durability that makes Toyota look like a cheap flea market trinket. Do you see these seats? They're leather and 34 years old. Never replaced never reskinned, from 1990. Now show me the burlap upholstery from a 1990 Toyota seat.
superturbo diesel
Toyotas will last longer, less maintenance, less cost, more power.
The worst thing about diesel sychopants is that they rarely understand that it's the broadness of the torque curve that they like.
>What is a torque converter
Here you go. Bodywork is rough, but the OM606 engine and tranny will easily outlast the Camry's

I love the smell of diesel leaks, especially on hot days.
That's normal for a Toyota
This. Seen 2005 Corollas never get below 5k for a good running unit.
I think it's immigrants who love these small cars, perhaps reminds them of home.
I like the Camry or larger
>just Toyota things
>here have a free toyota
>just Toyota things pt 2
Damn that 4runner is just BEGGING to be LV3 swapped
Is that the motor they put in Astrovans?
The newer version, yes. Rock solid reliability, lightweight, powerful. It's probably the one single thing that gm has gotten right in the last ten years. Also takes boost surprisingly well, pic related build put up over 500 hp on the dyno iirc
Is my man installing the can shaft with the pushrods and presumably the lifters still in place? Same energy as pic related
That image gets me every time holy shit.
checked
there's plenty more where that came from
Facebook marketplace is where everyone sells cars now.
1. Craigslist is obsolete, use Facebook marketplace
2. $10k in Biden's economy is like $5k in real dollars. You're forgetting that we had 200% inflation in the last couple of years.
