Think about it as you would art. If I were to make a print of an artist’s work it would not be nearly as cool to me personally when compared to how great it would be to have an original, even if guests weren’t able to tell the difference. It looks exactly the same in every way, but at the end of the day you know you’re a fraud and it’s therefore less fulfilling.

I guess it is sadder to buy a fake shitty plastic ‘luxury’ item marketed to the lower class than to buy a shitty plastic ‘real’ ‘luxury’ item marketed to the lower class. Or I guess don’t wear plastic garbage.

Yeah I’m generally of the mindset that you should buy things that will last, not strictly based on their actual physical lifespan but something that will fall apart before you stylistically outgrow it. I see nothing wrong with buying dunks, especially in the case that you actually have a reason to buy them like if they would go with your fits well rather than buying them with a hypebeast mindset.

          >$100 plastic made in china shoes vs $30 plastic made in china shoes
Oh wow good for you! Now you just need a purse with MK or COACH or dumb lower middle class stupid printed all over it on patent ‘leather’.

do you appreciate the look of old but well maintained and broken in sneakers? then yes there is something wrong with wearing fakes because they will probably fall apart long before you get to that point

Authentic sneakers can be absolute shit. The best rep batches are sometimes better than the average authentic pair. With replicas there’s an incentive for making the best shoe with the best quality control, since anyone can make reps and rep buyers and dealers want the absolute best product they can have. Nike couldn’t care less your stupid ass thinks the quality control is low, because where else are you gonna get an authentic pair. You’re more worried about availability than you are quality when you buy an limited authentic pair of sneakers. The incentives are all mixed and that’s a shame.

This. Rep rolexes being identical to the real deal is impressive
Rep nikes being identical is because nikes are crap. They cant even use stitching or the material under the sole because it varies between legit models. They cant use errors because the legit ones have errors too. Terrible qc

Don’t most Rolex replicas, and watch replicas in general, use cheaper movements? I know nothing about rep watches.

          • Anonymous says:

Used to be true until a few years ago
            Modern rolex reps are insane

It’s shit like “open the watch and look at the cogs under a microscope”. And they got even better since this video came out

To me it’s a pride thing

If anyone asked me about the shoe I couldnt lie and say they are real or have the confidence to admit they are fake

    >dude nobody cares
I got complimented on hecking dunks by sneakerheads, if I got a reverse swoosh yeezybooster cactus jack jesus shoe everyone would ask me about it

    >dude normalfags dont care
Normalfags wont even see anything past the color

The only thing I could see getting reps for are some versace/balenciaga meme shoes that cost 1000 dollars, since you will be wearing them ironically anyway

    • Anonymous says:

Then don’t go for the damn cactus jack?

I personally prefer fakes cause i do prefer my money going towards factories rather than nike in a way, and i just don’t want to pay 300 for some basic colourways like kentuckys or shadows

Balenciaga used to be made in Italy and when they saw that china was making the exact same shoes they were paying more to have made in Italy, they just cut a deal with those factories which now make the genuine ones.

Depends on the model, fake dunks are usually better quality than real dunks for example, while dake 350s are more often than not complete garbage.

If you go for it you’ll have to find a correct atelier making them, and you probably should focus on nike sneakers since nike has the worst quality of any mainstream sneaker brand (except shit like sketchers), dunks are better fake, tn are arguably better fake, af1 depend on the model, jordan 1 are often better flke too especially lows.

One of my most funny finds were pandas made of real leather, and with a bkt sturdier stitching (vompared to my real unc at least)

As long as they look of the same quality or better quality there really isn’t an issue with it. This goes for all fake replica clothing.

    >always rep
Generic designs by any desinger under Kering ie brown monograms.
    FOTM nikes adidas

    >maybe rep
    archive
    watches

    >never rep
    domestic made
    outdoor jacket

Outside of actual quality issues, no. All the major companies are pushing lower quality products for premium prices. It’s your civic duty as a consumer to counteract this by finding alternatives avenues that allow you to pay exactly what the shoe is worth instead of the cost of the brand.

    >see item
    >it looks good
    >"real" version extremely expensive
    >"fraud" version cheap but 99.9% accurate
Choosing real is inherently decadent and impractical if what you care about is looking nice. If you care more about that decadence / posterity, or if the fakes are shit, by all means help Tommy buy another yacht.

if your fraud version does not have the branding then i will pretend along with you.

if your fraud does have the branding and you insist that it should – you might be fooling yourself but you are not fooling me.

not unless you get really shitty replicas

I’m going to keep buying reps because bots and hype beast ruined buying shoes and i can get shoes i normally couldn’t get in my size

i have 5 pairs of fake ultraboosts and nikes i got 5 years ago. they are still doing okay.

the nikes i got were these ones, tom sachs mars yard, because i wanted shoes in san francisco 49ers colors. they are currently at over $5,000 a pair on stockx. i paid $20 for them and the chinese buyer i used advised against it because ‘they do not look great". look just fine to me. one time an asian-american hypebeast guy saw me on the train and said HOLY heck DUDE ARE THOSE THE MARS YARDS and i told him they were fakes he said who cares man they look nice

I think it’s fine as long as it’s the design of the garment that you care about and not the brand.

e.g I just bought a pair of fake sk8 hi vans with a brown sole cuz I thought they looked better than the real ones since the real ones had a more orange bright color to them, I think it’s doable in this case, also doable for money related purposes like when you want a specific item but it happens to be sold by a company that expects you to pay 2.5k for a hoodie in which case it’s also fine to buy fakes

I have no problems paying American retail for sneakers but i am not paying nearly a grand for a nikes
I will not be analy fisted by resellers or settle for some dog shit colour way from footlocker

you can wear pricey shit but if it’s just sneakers and youre outfit is mallcore or i know your lifestyle i automatically think theyre reps

like lmao zoomers wearing union af1s in high school or college

if you want proper running sneakers that will actually keep you injury free and won’t fall a part, then don’t buy fakes.

  17. Anonymous says:

No. I bought $150 Reebok’s and the faux leather is peeling not half a year in. I don’t give a shit anymore, I’m not buying crap that’s not gonna hold up at x5 the price.

No, no one who isn’t a shoe flipper gives a shit what shoes you are wearing, so wear whatever you want. No one cares.
