a lot of people live in mexico without visas. many own property. fact is the government there just doens't really care about that sort of thing but the rules exist and nobody officially is going to tell you *wink wink* don't worry about it.

colombia is good, argentina is better, brazil is best. better learn portuguese though, english in brazil is dodgy.

I avoid SEA and Asia in general.

this. I used to do work in Africa and most of the expats I met over there just use a tourist visa and overstay it. The government doesn't care.

that's the real reason. south america is obviously largely a shithole, but its nicer parts are nicer than anywhere in SEA. that and its not in a different time zone, and the women are so much vastly hotter its not even funny.

If you've ever seen the movie Scarface with Al Pacino. The guy was the perfect representation of a Scorchad. He was a top dog in Miami and had everything he could ever want after hustling up the ranks of the coke game. This is how the Scorchad operates in the crypto market except instead of selling cocaine we are gonna crush it in Defi with these big balls moves. And that's how Scorch Coin is gonna make us all filthy rich.

Count the months you likely have left to live and multiply by €800.
        If you're 25 that's about 50 years or 600 months.
        600 * 800 = 480K.
        Give or take.

Thailand is raising the price of their elite visa by 5x on September 15th. I'm on it, it's pretty comfy. If you buy the 5 year visa for 600k baht now, you still have the option to extend to 20 years at the current rate (400k baht). The new pricing structure is a joke and will price out a lot of foreigners.

just looking at the new prices and it seems the 5 year is now 900k. I'm seriously considering applying before the Sept 15 deadline. thing is I'm a bit equivocal about it as I only stayed rather recently for 2 weeks but absolutely loved it. i want to escape the ausfag rat race and have enough capital to survive. should I pull the trigger?

The new prices are pretty ridiculous for what you get. Especially the new 20 year visa. Malaysia is probably the new move with their second home visa.

Ridiculous. Is Thailand's economy even doing that good anymore? Welp, there goes my dream I guess. I was planning on pulling the trigger on one of their current Elite Visa programs and a condo within the next year or two but fuck it, I give up. I like Thailand a lot, but it is not worth this amount of money.

            Anonymous

Nah their economy is pretty shit. It's almost better to come in on a business visa at this point. But then again, Malaysia has a much better and cheaper visa that gives you a proper work permit. Check them out anon.

I hear the Malaysia home visa has also increased in price and obstacles by a mile over the course of the pandemic. I remember it being pretty shit compared to the older version of the visa, unless they switched back to it. Also, Malaysia is a lot more boring compared to Thailand.

Philippines, 36 months tourist visa, no questions asked. but you pay I'd say at least 30% more for a western standard condo than what you would pay in thailand and you are forced into expat containment zones (Manila - BGC, Cebu - IT Park) because everything else is a shithole. it's comfy tho, would recommend. also the women have no problem with sperglords, you will get laid here.

        Second this.

On a brighter note, Vietnam has increased their tourist visas up to 90 days now, used to be max 30 days then you had to leave.

          Anonymous

That's great news! Vietnam is a super hot tourist destination for young people so its likely those tourists will have a lot of spending money. This could result in a huge boost to the Scorch economy once it becomes widely available. Imagine how much tourism and trade will increase once Scorch is the official reserve currency of Vietnam
