      Absolutely no.
It isn’t even that good of the jacket to begin with.

If you want something you can larp off. you have a better chance with military jacket (Travis Bickle of Taxi Driver)

What kind of jacket is it? And do they make versions without the scorpion? Aside from that bit I think it looks cool.

I didn’t have a good way to source it, so I made it myself. Without an embroidery machine the scorpion is pretty annoying to get right, so I left that out

I didn’t know shit about patterns or sewing back then, it was my first larger project after t-shirts. The best thing to work with is a shirt pattern (e.g. go a size or two larger than your usual shirt and try that on muslin first), or a Harrington or bomber jacket pattern.
I can measure mine for the details, for now I’ll give estimates.
            Materials:
            >outside:
            >cream satin
            >poplin (lightweight) or voile, quilt satin to poplin
            >inside: brown satin or other shiny lining material
            >furthermore: brown ribbed fabric for the cuffs and the sleeve attachment

          • Anonymous says:

I’m sure I could find a harrington pattern to use. I don’t know how to do the quilt pattern but I’m sure it’s not hard to do
I do not have an embroidery machine but I don’t want any

          • Anonymous says:

the quilting is a bit tedious, but it’s easy: the poplin will not be visible, so I drew the sewing lines on it. Then I blasted the outer layer onto that, close to the lines, but far enough so that you don’t accidentally stitch the basting thread. I did this before cutting the fabric.

I have basically been dressing like Driver since I first saw the movie several years ago. Everything but the scorpion jacket
I wear dark jeans, light blue/white henleys or tees, a denim jacket and boots. I even own the exact belt he wears. I’ve been wearing a variation of that fit for years
At one point I even drove a Mustang but sold it as it was constantly in the shop. Fun car to drive but not reliable and constantly needing work

      • Anonymous says:

        This one?
I always laugh when i read it because it’s so similar to me. I just dress like him and had a Mustang for a while but otherwise I’m different

Kek pretty funny if true. But I really use to wear what

said but never seen driver. Is this post why it’s memed here so much?

Driveposting used to be a thing on /tv/ back in the day. "Times you acted like the driver" threads were great
            The memes and also

be 6+ foot tall, conventionally attractive and in shape.

Yes, that one. Best drivepost if you ask me.
Memes aside, if you’re white, somewhat atheltic/fit and moderately attractive, dressing like Ryan Gossling in Drive is a safe bet (trucker jacket, henley, slim dark blue jeans, boots). I dressed like that once for shits and giggles and got a surprising number of compliments.

Well, the driver knows how to fix cars, so maybe you just needed to start working on that.

Kek pretty funny if true. But I really use to wear what […] said but never seen driver. Is this post why it’s memed here so much?

You should watch it, it’s a genuinely good movie. I feel bad it’s turnt into a meme, because people only focus on the autists going "woah he is literally me".
I wouod say it’s popular because it’s a bit of an alternative take on masculinity and how a man should act without falling into the progressive feminist trap. Soft and introspective without coming across as emasculated.
I watched it with my father back when it came out, I was a young teenager and I feel it left a genuinelly positive impression on me in regards to how a man should act. It’s a bit like Gladiator in that regard, it provides a masculine role model.

Used to dress a bit like this, people thought I dressed really cool but one guy did pick up on it

didn’t go full scorpion jacket, used a souvenir jacket instead and just replicated the rest

if you want a classic, timeless jacket that kinda vaguely looks like it without all the larp just get a eddie bauer skyliner

Where’s the copypasta of the guy who LARPs as Baby Driver but now can’t stop because he’s gotten a steady gf with his act? That could be OP if he commits.

Someone post some inspo of jackets similar to the scorpion jacket but without the scorpion and a different color?
Most souvenir jackets are basically satin bombers with embroidery but the one in Drive is a little different with the gusseted shoulders and collar. I like that style more than the bomber jacket style

If you don’t have that kind of face, my dear spergs, don’t even try it. Haven’t 101 /fashion/ meetup pics taught you enough? Watching ugly spergs try to pull off elite-tier fashion really tugs at my heartstrings.

        • Anonymous says:

It’s like a fedora. A fedora is also elite-tier fashion. If you have a model face, you can make a fedora work. Otherwise, avoid.

            >fedora
Do you mean the hat that literally every man wore up until the 60’s?

Actually, its a trillby NOT a fedora.

two people making the same point (

you have to have elite genes to make that work

It’s not just looks. Ryan Gosling can act, and is charming. He can make you feel whatbhebwants you to feel with his facial expressions.
Most of the guys who LARP as Driver just do a generic tough guy or Terminator impression. This is wrong. Gosling’s strength is in his softness and vulnerability.

I see normie teenagers wearing this kind of flashy rapper shit all the time, unironically if you have a babyface like it circles back around from being autistic to being normcore. People will just assume the scorpion is some twitch streamer/influencer/rapper merchandise shit.

  8. Anonymous says:

You have to invent your own version. Basically you could have been dressing like the Drive guy for years before the movie came out but you didn’t because you’re gay and lame. Hurry up and before Ryan Gosling steals your next favorite look.

Does anyone know of any brands that do a similar jacket but in a different color, no scorpion, etc?
I actually really love the look of the jacket
