Meta-Nihilism. There's no point in being a nihilist, so you may as well just not be a homosexual and enjoy stuff

Engage in some productive hobbies like working Out, hiking, fishing, arts or whatever. Meditate and just spent time outside in general. Then you can enjoy some recreative media from time to time without feeling completly worhtless end even enjoy it properly.

Last sunday I just finished god of war. Was playing it on and off on sundays for couple of hours at max. Feels much more rewarding. Now i am going to do the same with Planescape torment.

Tldr dont be a homosexual you wastes His whole time on escapism

Sounds pretty boring and gay. I'll pass. Meditation is also for gigafags. I do like hiking though. I don't see why everyone feels the need to remove entertainment from their lives. It's odd. The real problem is that there is no longer any non-kiked entertainment being made, therefore I have nothing to play or watch or read.

Because "entertainment" is literal poison for your mind. Why should we tolerate any amount of poison, let alone indulge in it?

So you're productive 100% of the day? lol Okay, buddy. What a retarded take. There is worthwhile things to be gleaned from good stories in whatever medium.

No, the mind needs time to relax. Meditation is far superior to "entertainment", and I never said I was perfect just that we should seek to eliminate "entertainment".

When I say entertainment, I don't just mean something you consume and forget about immediately, though I think popcorn flicks and things like that have a place too. I'm saying I've learned things about myself and about the world through good books, good stories in games, good movies. Everything is kiked now, and really always has been for the most part, but it's in superdrive now, so I hardly indulge in any media except in a passing way. I think humans have always told stories and have always needed time to relax and be entertained. I don't think it's a poison. I think the content of most entertainment is the poison. And meditation is for fags, I'm sorry. Unless you just mean taking time to be quiet and reflect. But new age meditation is gay and satanic.

Stories with morals or teachings are not entertainment though, they are practical. That would be like saying mathematics is entertainment if one enjoyed the study of it. Video games are not that though they are 100% just a distraction and have no value, as a video game is always the worst way to tell a story in every case.

Plenty of great fiction is both entertaining as well as enlightening. There are older RPG games with very good stories. I'll grant that it isn't the most direct means of storytelling, but it isn't all distraction. It just strikes me as bizarre that you and many others nowadays have this mindset that any art that takes you away from being completely ant-like productive is somehow evil. The real evil, again, is that there is no good art being made that isn't drummed up from the mind of some God hating kike.

Games have the highest potential for storytelling because interactivity > passive consumption, but it's the hardest format to execute.

Reading is not "passive" consumption in any sense of the word. It is quite active and involves use of your imagination. Watching something on a screen is always passive, even if you are controlling it, because it shows you all there is to know there is no room left for the imagination. This is why I have come to dislike "entertainment", it breeds ignorance because it weakens the mind's eye. You can learn from anything, but the intention of "entertainment" is not to teach but to distract in the first place which makes it a poor substitute.

So your argument against my assertion is that games can be good for showcasing a story if they act as books instead of games? How is that a convincing argument for the sake of video games?

The interactivity I'm taking about is in the story itself. Games allow the course and outcome of a story to change based on your choices. A book does not (except choose your own adventure, which *is* a game).

Games with multiple endings have historically used stills and narration for the most part. Maybe a new cinematic, but in the case of modern games like Mass Effect 3 there are no differences in a games conclusion except minor variations because a game developments studio cannot afford to make 16 different games in order to have unique endings. Games are heavily limited by technology and budget, and therefore they almost always have to compromise their artistic integrity in order to be able to be finished in the first place. Only indie games have the flexibility to make diverging outcomes but they are limited by technology to the degree that just reading the story would be better in many cases.

If you really believe that, work on your reading comprehension.

                >This mixed-methods study investigates the hypothesis that playing Defcon, a nuclear warfare simulation game, can affect attitudes toward nuclear weapons and stimulate critical reflection on this issue. Participants were 141 college students who were randomly assigned to game playing(experimental) and article reading (control) conditions. A multivariate repeated measures factorial analysis revealed statistically significant differences between groups for three pairs of pre-/post-test items. In addition, total pre- and post-test scores showed a significant interaction with group assignment, reported frequency of game play and gender, with women and less frequent gamers exhibiting greater attitude changes. In the second, qualitative phase of the study, 20 additional participants were interviewed to better understand how playing Defcon may stimulate critical reflection about nuclear weapons.

So you have shifted the goalposts from video games to software simulations. So am I to assume that you play these simulations as your game of choice then? Or are you being disingenuous and claiming that even a super minority of all produced games are simulations?

Please, tell me how DEFCON is not a game based on how it's described by its own developers and by others. Again, your ignorance is showing. Who here is shifting goalposts and being disingenuous?

no, everything in life is a cope. Either distractions to distract your mind from the thoughts or distractions so the passage to your end would not be as apparent to you. Theres also speed runner copers who will do everything once just to obtain the achievement of experience before they perish. Just pick your flavor of cope and cope.

count it (consider it) all JOY christ-anons whenever you face trails and tribulations (that's painful instances without immediate material relief) of all sorts, because it is the testing of your faith that produces endurance (patience, perseverance, steadfastness) that when endurance matures, then you lack nothing.

The way I did it was I picked all of the characters I resonated with and became more like them:
I wasn't strong like them, so I learned about nutrition and exercise until I found what worked for me and got fit.
I couldn't cast spells, so I learned (pick your favorite science or tech).
I couldn't fight like them, so I learned how.
I couldn't shoot like them, so I learned how.
I couldn't sneak like them, so I learned how.
I wasn't as persuasive, so I learned sales and marketing.
    Etc.
There are so many free resources now via Google search, YouTube, and BitTorrent.
You just have to choose to start leveling up in reality. It's harder but more rewarding.
