He wanted to genocide whole nations and got His Hebrews to do that on many occasions! He was too busy to be kind! He also gave the "Promised Land" to ~~*Them*~~ when it was already occupied by another nation! Therefore more genocide was needed! NB4 "Well, they were so impure that God had to get His acolytes to murder them all!"

The inhabitants of the Levant owed everything they had to God's providence, but failed recognize him. It was God's right to reclaim their land and slaughter them.

9Take wheat and barley, beans and lentils,
millet and spelt; put them in a storage jar and use
them to make bread for yourself. You are to eat it
during the 390 days you lie on your side. 10Weigh
out twenty shekels of food to eat each day and
eat it at set times. 11Also measure out a sixth of a
hin of water and drink it at set times. 12Eat the
food as you would a loaf of barley bread; bake it
in the sight of the people, using human excrement
for fuel. 13The LORD said, In this way the people
of Israel will eat defiled food among the nations
      where I will drive them.
14Then I said, Not so, Sovereign LORD! I have
never defiled myself. From my youth until now I
have never eaten anything found dead or torn by
wild animals. No impure meat has ever entered
      my mouth.
15Very well, he said, I will let you bake
your bread over cow dung instead of human excrement".

And omniscient and omnipotent God would not be able to feel a majority of human emotions because those emotions come directly from the limitations of reality.

what do you think a god is?
definitionally he doesnt care weather you think hes a nice guy.
you guys think god is some kind of joke. a friend. someone to follow.

What do you think a God is?!
We're discussing the creator of heaven and earth, time and space. Who created all atHis will with speech.
He is not lacking in any form if you do not worship Him.
It is incumbent on you, as His creation, to worship Him.

Sounds like your intepretation of what a God should be

        Anonymous

This interpretation does not contradict "bad things" God does/lets happen.

          Anonymous

That's not my problem with it, its just not worth reverence. I don't think it can ever be genuine or built on honesty if a deity needs to threaten or abuse you into compliance. Though it does explain why fear is so important in many of these religions.

            Anonymous

Based on my "Interpretation," which it seems you agree with, there are two outcomes.
            1) It doesn't matter if it's built on honestly or whatever, there is inherent "fear" when dealing with the creator of all.
            2) The threat or abuse - punishment, is conceded/admitted/ welcomed.
That is, the human intelligence dictates that it is incumbent upon one to worship his Creator.
Therefore, if one does not, it is as if he is asking for the punishment.

Yeah, the god that near-death experiencers (NDErs) talk about

    https://www.amazon.com/Why-Afterlife-Obviously-Exists-Realer-Than-Real/dp/1785359851/

People who have near-death experiences are representative of the population as a whole, and all are convinced of the afterlife, so 100% of the population agrees that the afterlife is real once they have an NDE themselves.

And they say about that god that he is unconditionally forgiving of abso-fricking-lutely EVERYTHING! Unconditional love is unconditional forgiveness, and unconditional forgiveness causes you to smile forever.

So God doesn't send people to hell for shit that they couldn't change? He's actually nice and forgives your wrongdoings in the end? He actually loves humans and doesn't condemn them to eternal suffering?

        Anonymous

Indeed! As one NDEr said, "I could blow up the whole galaxy, and god would still love me the same." Just like a very loving parent wouldn't care how much their child misbehaved in a video game, so too does god not give a dusty frick about what we do here. Hitler and Stephen Paddock went both straight to paradise when they died, and have literally been dancing on rainbows ever since. It's not that doing X or Y are right or wrong, good or bad, but that heaven is full of infinite unconditional love, and they dont judge our actions.

This is the probably the funniest hopium I've ever seen

I grant you the funny part, but it's neither cope nor hope. Seriously though, the book that was linked in the post you replied to -

        - makes a huge deal about the fact that NDErs are representative of the population as a whole, and that when people go deep into the NDE, they all become convinced. As this article points out:

        https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/mysteries-consciousness/202204/does-afterlife-obviously-exist

        >"Statistics collected ... show that the “deeper” the NDE ... the greater the percentage of those who come away certain of the existence of the afterlife. Among those with the deepest experiences ... 100 percent came away agreeing with the statement, “An afterlife definitely exists”

Since NDErs are representative of the population as a whole, and they are all convinced, then 100% of the population become convinced that there is an afterlife when they have a sufficiently deep NDE themselves. And so would you, me, or anyone, because it is VASTLY more self-evidently real than this puny little experience of life on Earth we have now. When you dream and wake up, you immediately realize that life is more real than your dream. When you have an NDE, the same thing is happening, but on a higher level, as you immediately realize that life is the deep, deep dream and the NDE world is the real world.
