I find it endearing. I'm not american, though, so maybe the world doesn't bother me because I didn't grow up with it being a heavy slur and only something trannies online call each other.

i think i would just find it a little cringy if you called me your cute troony. i might roll my eyes but i dont think offended is the right word

OP here. I'm esl and I just think the term is kinda cute so I'm not sure if people get offended by it. I use it all the time but never in an offensive manner, I just don't like the term trans.

it entirely depends on the situation, but I'd be fine with my boyfriend calling me that...sometimes.

    depends
if my guyfrens called me a troony or a homosexual they're getting clipped over the head
if we were dating for a while and you said it really sweetly i'd melt
    >that one anon worrying about his traumatized tranner gf called her smth like "twink bastard homosexual sperg" and giwtwm

it sounds like SHIT said aloud. it's cute and endearing as text, i don't mind it used on NSFFW.
in person it's an incredibly ugly word. if you aren't trans don't say it, if you are trans don't say it often.

i say it a lot without realizing it, afraid i might offend other trans girls i talk to. words are words so in the end its fine. but yeah typically mean people use it, and of course in the end transgirls just want to be "woman" not anything else like "tranner".

some of my trans friends use it, and don't care if i do. grew up around gay people, troony was never a slur to them unless you were a butthole.

otherwise, i'm referring to car parts in any other context

idgaf about people saying it on the internet
irl though, I'd be annoyed but probably would just give you a dirty look cause I'm pretty non-confrontational

when i first heard the word troony used it wasn't used in an explicitly offensive way so i thought it was a combination of the words trans and something cutesy like sweetie. that being said, i was really confused of the reaction when i first used the word randomly on the internet. troony is used all the time here so it's basically a casual word thrown around that i don't mind it at all but i wouldn't use it around strangers at all and would 100% ask any trans person outside of NSFFW their thoughts on the word before using it in casual discussion (or lurk to see if other people are using it in said community before doing so myself.)
tldr/simple version: unless you hear the trans person/people use the word themselves it's safe to assume they won't like the word or find it demeaning in some way.
