it’s well written but is made by & for communists; basically all of the writing & worldbuilding comes from a communist lense, specifically that of communists from ex-soviet countries. it also has a heavily communist/socialist dominated fanbase. while the actual game itself critiques various political beliefs, including communism and other subsets of leftists, it’s clear that the game has far less contempt for socialists than it does for fascists, centrists, or liberals. the politics arent all the game has going on but the commentary on class, politics, and the fact that the setting in-game is an ex-communist and now capitalist nation is important to the themes, and it gets brought up frequently.

the gameplay itself is sort of an RPG/adventure game and the interactions with other characters are mostly text-based (with voice acting.) i wouldn’t call it a full on visual novel in the traditional sense but it’s more similar to one or maybe a tabletop RPG than it is to, like, skyrim. if you’re someone who gets bored easily by reading and exploring you will not like it.

anyways, all of that will bother some people and appeal to others. i would say if it’s a genre you like and you either agree with or can tolerate the politics, you will probably love it, if not you will probably hate it.

I don’t mind reading, but I don’t usually like voiceacting in vidya.
Regarding the politics, I have some sympathies towards fascists and communists, in the sense they are both against capitalism and liberalism, although I dislike both of those ideologies. I have to ask are the authors actual commies or the typical socdem progressives libs that’s so much more common? You know the ones that act like they are all revolutionaries but are there just to facilitate the status quo, like Vaush.

          • Anonymous says:

i would say the authors are actual commies, yes, & the game heavily critiques people like vaush lol. they have actually read theory and arent just socialist twitter reply guys.

also, if you dislike voice acting i would say this might be an exception as the voice acting is very very good for basically every character (including the voices in your head,) but that’s just my opinion

          • Anonymous says:

I will give it a try then, I’m not the kind who dislikes hearing differing political views when they are well informed. And I like story driven games.

actually here’s a vid of the game so u can see what i mean about the voice acting. definitely better than most games, but still playable if u have it muted

Quite a long game if you wanna explore everything it got to offer, got some rpg elements to it, is political to a point but can be ignored.

      • Anonymous says:

possibly the best game i’ve ever played with basically no negatives except that i want more of it
also it’s true that it was made by communists and it does have an explicit communist leaning but even if you aren’t one, like i am, you’ll still love it

        the voice acting is amazing

It’s probably one of the most well-written games of the past two decades but autistic, left-leaning people attach to it while not understanding they’re also being criticized.

        It’s a good write-up.

This. A good way to spot if someone is gonna inevitably troon out is if he likes disco elysium, watches anime and prefer to play as female characters in videos games.

Not that poster, but I have a thinner frame and have and in terms of my facial features I got pretty much all of my mom’s features but just as a guy version. I feel inadequate as a guy that I don’t believe I could ever live up to male beauty standards but yet if I was trans I think I would’ve been gifted a lot of features that would benefit me. I’m just a deeply confused individual at this point that doesn’t really care for being anything at all, except to look good and be desirable, at least by my own standards.

Lol same I get told I look like my mom a lot. Maybe i’ll just be a femboy/prettyboy lots of girls like that nowadays. 0 desire to be a woman or be gay though, which is a win

heck that’s one of my mates to a T. I don’t see him doing it though. I got his take on trannies pretty good when we discovered a mutual friend of ours probably trooned out (this guy gave us all the cold shoulder to basically live on Vrchat as a girl)

Why do dumb LULZners want to be girls all the time, like it’s gonna solve all their problems, you just know if there was some magical become a girl button they’d press it and continue to exhibit the same loser miserable thoughts and do the same exact male nerd things they did as a guy only with the added expense of having to rebuy their wardrobe and worry about tampons and no longer getting taken seriously in men’s spaces because they now come off as an attention seeking brat only pretending to like male stuff for attention.

    >Maybe i’ll just be a femboy/prettyboy lots of girls like that nowadays.
Relatable. I could see myself doing a goth version of this.
    >Why not? Slim feminine guys are in right now dude
I don’t mind it but I don’t feel tall enough. I’m 5 10 but grew up short, especially in a part of the US where people are quite tall. I got mogged pretty much all my life and I think while I’m decently attractive as is I’ll never be some sort of chad. It’s only upon discovery of this place and all the hons and reppers who are too chad to pull off the fem look that I’m realizing this could be a blessing in disguise.
    >That’s not good. Are you religious? I’ve moved towards Christ and it’s helped me a LOT, the future is promising on that end.
Good advice. I’m Christian though my faith has been very shaky these days. Years of loneliness and feeling of worthlessness has sort of broken me down a bit. I’m moving states in the next week so I’m gonna look to find a church which other people my age and hopefully that will help.
    >What do you want out of a career?
I’m a University student studying math, and would like to do something in finance or tech. Maybe fall back on teaching if I don’t end up liking those.
    >Do you want a family?
Yes but I’m blackpilled on ciswomen. I feel that they view men as disposable to objects to be used for money and lifestyle than actual human beings equally worthy of love and loyalty.
    >Any hobbies?
Martial arts. Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA. Might get some guns and take some marksmanship classes at this huge outdoor range near my Uni. Like I said, I’m extremely malebrained lol
    >What’s ur sexuality?
I’m straight I think, though I suspect in perfect conditions I could probably be converted if I met a perfect guy.
    >Post face maybe?
Maybe one day. I’m not going anywhere. You know how LULZ goes. Were here forever. I’ll post with a name and maybe you’ll remember me if I do

Goth is too much for me lol
      >I’m 5 10 but grew up short, especially in a part of the US where people are quite tall
I’m about the same height, I don’t mind being mediocre height. If you were any taller you wouldn’t be able to pull off a feminine look 🙂
      >It’s only upon discovery of this place and all the hons and reppers who are too chad to pull off the fem look that I’m realizing this could be a blessing in disguise.
I just think of chad meaning someone who’s really attractive, not necessarily masculine lol
      >I’m Christian though my faith has been very shaky these days. Years of loneliness and feeling of worthlessness has sort of broken me down a bit
Why are you lonely? You need to make some virtuous good friends more than anything I think
      >I’m a University student studying math, and would like to do something in finance or tech
      Hey I’m a math major too :D, I like it a lot
      >Yes but I’m blackpilled on ciswomen. I feel that they view men as disposable to objects to be used for money and lifestyle than actual human beings equally worthy of love and loyalty
Aww why do you feel like that? Remember women are just people too, they’re not that different from yourself. Did you watch too many redpill videos? Those places aren’t good for your psyche.
      >I’m straight I think, though I suspect in perfect conditions I could probably be converted if I met a perfect guy
That’s probably true for a lot of people, but Jesus did say that marriage is between a man and a woman, remember.

Not really goth, so much as just all black really. I’m a little loose with labels which has gotten me in trouble with people here on /fashion/ before lol
        >If you were any taller you wouldn’t be able to pull off a feminine look 🙂
Pretty much lol It’s the cut off really. Ideal in some ways. Tall enough to be a man, short enough to be a woman. We have options I suppose
        >I just think of chad meaning someone who’s really attractive, not necessarily masculine lol
Maybe but I’m talking the Henry Cavill/Brad Pitt types who could get unlimited options on a shallow app like Tinder. I wouldn’t put myself in their league except maybe in Asia lolol
        >Why are you lonely?
I have close friends who I consider virtuous and I’m close with my family as well. It’s always been a sort of romantic longing I suppose. I can get hook ups if I pursue them (I don’t anymore. I had a couple back in the day and realized quickly I don’t like it). I just want someone I can cuddle on a couch with and watch a movie together. Just really enjoy each other’s company.
        >Hey I’m a math major too :D, I like it a lot
Awesome! I’m gonna be starting my first year in the fall so don’t quiz me on anything lol I don’t know what you know yet
        >Aww why do you feel like that?
Perhaps a lack of positive experiences. I spent too much time on the internet trying to understand things because I’ve never really known how to put myself out there in the post covid/post lockdown world. I’m from the PNW which was super lockdown heavy and already had a very anti social culture even before that. Now it’s basically impossible to meet anyone or talk to strangers unless they know you through someone or from somewhere. Basically if you’re not willing to risk asking out someone you work with then you will basically never get to shoot your shot. Now I’ve just been in my head for years I suspect.

I feel the same way. Not that I don’t want sex but I want it as an outgrowth of romantic closeness, and when I’m married. Not sure how much I should share this but I fantasize about a girl dressing me up feminine and then just being one together if that makes sense, I hope I get married when I’m young enough for that to work :/
          >Awesome! I’m gonna be starting my first year in the fall so don’t quiz me on anything lol I don’t know what you know yet

NOO people on the internet are so warped, even the worst girls I know IRL are just kind of annoying and promiscuous but still fairly good hearted.

It really is. Math can be applied to anything, it’s so universal. You seem really cool. I don’t know if you have a discord but feel free to add me. Bansky6030

I’m glad I never got into hookups but you’ll be okay
            >That didn’t happen lol I’m 26 year old skinny white guy, but when I shave people think I’m much younger. I’ve been working in and out of various restaurant jobs the past few years and 18 year olds I work with think I’m there age lol
What did you do to look young? Skincare? Lifestyle?

Honestly it’s a combination of genetics and living in the northwest I don’t get a lot of sun exposure which I think contributes. I’m moving to Arizona soon so while I’m down I’m definitely looking to pick up a skin care routine. I lived in Florida for a year once without ever burning or tanning lol I just don’t get out much except work and the gym. I prefer to run at night because that’s when the world is more peaceful to me

I feel like watching porn turned me completely off from any sexuality that isn’t really romantic, maybe not the worst thing. I just wanna be in a really romantic fem x fem straight relationship tbh. I feel like there’s nothing sinful or bad about that?
But like idk, I feel like you can only do that until like 30 as a man before it gets weird. So I hope I get married before then.
            >You seem really cool. I don’t know if you have a discord but feel free to add me.

I agree. I developed a porn addiction over covid which I have no doubt contributes greatly to these feelings, but there’s also a level of disgust for what I see. The romance needs to be there, there needs to be beauty in it or we are simply animals.

            Agreed

True, though I’m 26 right now but I look 18 when I shave so who really knows how long I could pull it off. When I start visibly aging the gig is up and I’m just have to embrace what I am which is a guy
            >Uhh I’ll think about it maybe add you on a throwaway, I’ll keep talking on here if you want?
No pressure. Apologies for the late response but I had to go the store and meet a friend for a bit. I’m back now if you end up checking back in this thread. Can always go back and forth as long as this thread stays up

Completely agree, I just want to be a beautiful creature in every aspect of my life tbh.
Also I feel like my sexuality isn’t very conforming to a normal straight man even though I am a straight man. I’m more romantic, have higher standards, care a lot about looking pretty myself, and I’m also more submissive I guess even though I’m kinda neutral on that. Do you relate? A lot of guys seem to look at sex in a very objectifying way that’s gross to me
            >Agreed
Idk how hard that is to find but it’s what I want so I’m gonna go for it, I think if there’s anything I want that’s not a sin I should just go for it. You think that’s a good life plan?

Good to hear I can keep it up until my late 20s at least, I think 10 femme years and then 10-15 more pretty man years would be a decent run.

I agree with all that, though tbh if you want someone who would take the lead in the relationship you won’t really find that with women. Women pretty much all want you as the man to be the man so to speak
            >Good to hear I can keep it up until my late 20s at least, I think 10 femme years and then 10-15 more pretty man years would be a decent run.

            >That’d be the dream huh
Yeah hope I can pull it off I should be able to. What have you looked like over the past what 6 years? Have you tried to look more femme or just been average guy looking or what? I feel like I’m learning I need to think less and act more, just think if something would be a sin for lack of a better term and if not do it.

That’s what I thought too but as you get older you realize it’s one or the other, but really only one
            >What have you looked like over the past what 6 years?
I haven’t really tried to hard in this yet, so I’ve pretty much looked the same for 6 years. I’ve only had the thoughts the past few months but I’m moving out completely on my own soon, so that will open things up to trying things out.

This is just a stupid question thats made to be unanswerable. Its so politicized and the thing is it means different things in different time periods and different societies. Same with words like Male/Female. But nobody sees that because they are too busy seething about trannies all day. If you asked a scientist in the 1950s or a medieval peasant in the 1200s they would have very different answers actually. We can tell this by their treatment of hermaphrodites. In a lot of medieval societies hermaphrodites were actually allowed to choose whether to be considered male or female at adulthood. Its only in this era of science fetishism and rampant apollonian autism vibes that the idea that hermaphrodites were born one sex or the other has proliferated. They have the ability to produce one set of gametes, sure, BUT is that what we talk about when we use the word Woman or Female outside of the context of reproduction? Not saying trannies are women per se, at least not in all contexts, but even biolofically they are female-approximating hermaphrodites.

          • Anonymous says:

Most intersex people actually are clearly one sex or the other, I don’t want to argue history because it’ll just become an argument of scrounging for sources
            >BUT is that what we talk about when we use the word Woman or Female outside of the context of reproduction?
Nothing, it does refer to reproduction actually.

          • Anonymous says:

I’m saying that what people argue they think sex or gender are is not the same as the ways they use sex and gender terms in conversation or media. People will say “I believe women and females are all afab xx natal pubertal females!” And then talk about how “women are expected to do X” or “females are at an increased risk of Y” when these are actually talking about specific aspects of sex and gender that are not exclusive to the aforementioned definition. If woman is a purely reproductive label, we ought to only use it in a reproductive context. Until thats the case it doesnt seem like a fair argument.

          • Anonymous says:

            >If woman is a purely reproductive label, we ought to only use it in a reproductive context
Well this is tough. At its core and for purposes of marriage and legality I do think sex/gender should refer to purely reproductive matters. However, this isn’t really practical with how society is structured, say gendered bathrooms for example. This is I guess really why I oppose transgenderism, because I think those reproductive aspects of sex are holy in a way. Family is the bedrock of society and I don’t think we can disturb that

          • Anonymous says:

What do YOU think a woman is? If it is the case that only afab xx chromosome natal females who went through female puberty are women, we really ought to drop the term all together. When we say something like “women have an increased risk for breast cancer” thats not talking about THAT definition of women, but instead anyone whos undergone female pubertal development. Or “women are expected to do X” its not talking about THAT definition of women, but anyone who functions socially “as a woman”, whatever that may entail in their specific circumstance. When someone says “women are taught by the media to believe Y” its not THAT definition of women but anyone who views themself as a woman and internalizes what they see from that perspective, and so on. It’s actually a kind of meaningless word because people use it so flippantly. But tbh thats just how people will tend to talk about sex and gender because theyre bimodal and not binary. There will always be exceptions, its just about the choice a given society will allow them. Repressed latent transsexualism leads to depravity and violence. This is why its important to get latent transsexuals to avoid natal puberty and assimilate into normal society.

A woman is a biological female, XX chromosome.
Stop the hecking paragraphs just because of a 0.001% minority with genetic defects that are an exception to the rule and a bunch of socially confused, mentally ill trannies online.

what are you talking about, the answer is clear, a woman is a human female, as a man is a human male. intersex is a myth, all intersex are still clearly male or female on a biological level

No I don’t think you need to go through female puberty. I’d say xx natal females or the extremely rare people with total androgen insensitivity or the like. That’s my definition
            >"women have an increased risk for breast cancer” thats not talking about THAT definition of women, but instead anyone whos undergone female pubertal development
Okay? And? The correlation between someone who’s gone through "female" puberty and females is almost perfect, so it doesn’t matter.
            >Or “women are expected to do X” its not talking about THAT definition of women, but anyone who functions socially “as a woman”, whatever that may entail in their specific circumstance
That’s fair, but I still think at its core it has to refer to sex. Someone may say I’m "not a man" because I like looking more feminine, but we both agree in the other sense of the world that I am a man.
            >Repressed latent transsexualism leads to depravity and violence. This is why its important to get latent transsexuals to avoid natal puberty and assimilate into normal society.
I think not interfering with your true sex is too important, basically truth takes precedence over utility

          • Anonymous says:

I think the notion of “true sex” is a fiction. I think experience takes precedence over such things. You should read the diary of Herculine Barbin if you want to understand the hermaphroditic or intersex/trans experience. Its funny you care so much about your idea of “truth” while also saying the fact that a statement is untrue is irrelevant because the people it doesnt map onto well are so small.. when in fact.. the people whos “true sex” is “obscured” is the same small amount of people. My “true sex” is that I went through male and female puberty and thus have a male and female body and male and female social experience. My gametes have no effect on my life because I am infertile.

            >If woman is a purely reproductive label, we ought to only use it in a reproductive context

I fundamentally disagree with you because I think laws and society ought to serve people and not ideals. Transgenderism is the best way to deal with the problem of latent transsexuals, who often resort to depravity later in life. There is some biological aspect of gender (as in sense of self) that we do not fully understand yet. I believe transitioning people as early as possible to assimilate them into society is the only real solution. Also IVG.

You need to open your heart to nuance and subjectivity. And mystery. I understand what you believe to be true may be true to you, but you have seriously no understanding of the experiences of the people you are talking about which makes it hard to have a real conversation.

I think we’re coming to some core philosophical differences that we have.
            >I think the notion of “true sex” is a fiction
So you don’t really believe that you’re meaningfully male or female?
            >Its funny you care so much about your idea of “truth” while also saying the fact that a statement is untrue is irrelevant because the people it doesnt map onto well are so small
Language can never be that precise, categories will always be vague because of edge cases. Take it to another thing about gender and related to the thread, what is a femboy? A young male who’s feminine right? But how feminine? Am I a femboy or am I just a prettyboy? Does that mean that in its core there is no such thing as a femboy?

            >My “true sex” is that I went through male and female puberty and thus have a male and female body and male and female social experience.
The biggest issue I have with transgenderism is that I feel like it’s playing god in a way we fundamentally should never do. This is basically religious. If I want to look more feminine what can I do? Grow my hair out, get lean, work out certain muscles and don’t others, skincare, diet, makeup maybe? I do that but I don’t think anyone should ever go beyond changes like that. I don’t really like my nose but I shouldn’t get a rhinoplasty.
That’s all fine, but at a certain level I don’t think it’s good to modify ourselves, you can say it’s a slippery slope but where does it end?
            >I think laws and society ought to serve people and not ideals
If we think it’s serving people we have to measure its effectiveness by some benchmark, which are ideals. I think that’s a false choice
            >you have seriously no understanding of the experiences of the people you are talking about which makes it hard to have a real conversation.
I’m sorry and I’ll try to be nice, but I’ll never be able to truly empathize in that way, I know what it’s like to be a man who wants to be masculine, I’ve been there, or to be feminine, I’m there now, but that’s all of my experience. So in my experience aesthetic preferences are fickle and can change quickly, I’ll be more masculine when I’m older. Does that mean my gender is different? Sorry, I’ll try to be respectful.
