    merkur is literally budget tier
cheap chinese ones doesn’t hold the blade properly. garbage ones are going to give you razor burns and cuts

      >cheap chinese ones doesn’t hold the blade properly.

that’s a generalization that’s wrong. it just depends. I got two baili razors and the blade alignment is perfect.

    • Anonymous says:

Is that true tho or you fell for the meme? It’s literally cast iron. yeah sure, the chinks are hecking terrible at qc but how can you heck up something that’s molded?

    • Anonymous says:

      found the childish b***h.

any chink rip off does the exact same job of holding a piece of metal at an angle.

Just depends what you like. That one is popular because a lot of people like the wider handle, nice weight, and the option of a short or long handle. Merkur has a longstanding reputation for quality and they’re located in a historic center of blade manufacturing. Fifty bucks really isn’t that expensive for a one time cost item that you will use daily.

Wow that shit doesn’t even have a butterfly enclosure. What a piece of trash, it’s built with the same specifics as the dollar store safety razor. They probably just have paid staff spamming reddit saying their shit is the best, like the coffee subs.

    • Anonymous says:

This is what I’m talking about. If it isn’t built like this, it’s absolute junk. No exceptions. Especially for $50 you can get this from anywhere else.

    >Is the Merkur 34c really the GOAT?
    GOAT starter yes
    >Why does it have to be expensive?
They’re $60 wtf do you mean
    >What would be the difference between this and a cheap ebay (Chinese) one?
    My chinese one started chipping

is the rockwell 6s a meme? it has an adjustable cap so you can decide how aggressive of a shave you want. im using the €15 wilkinson sword and its fine but i just dont get a shave as close as id like

I bought a beat up no-name prewar machine at a bazar in Warsaw for the equivalent of like $2 years ago. Have shaved my ass and balls with it multiple times with no issues. So I’m skeptical as to the significance of the machine itself (used Wilkinson and Feather blades). Also I wonder what the grumpy old Polish vendors would say if they knew where I’ve removed hair with it kek

  7. Anonymous says:

Definitely good to start but not GOAT by any means. I dropped mine twice and the chrome coating chipped, making it effectively useless.
    Bought a full-steel razor afterwards

    • Anonymous says:

Because they’re made with better materials and will last a lifetime as opposed to an electric shaver which will break down and is usually made in China

      • Anonymous says:

You a dumb heck. I’m using the same electric shaver my grandpa bought before I was born, you’re buying a $50 metal clamp that you need to replace blades on. If your stupid $50 metal stick had any complexity it could possibility break too. This is as “smart” as saying your gas stove will break, my fire pit will last a lifetime I only use firewood and constantly replace my wood.

        • Anonymous says:

          >I’m using the same electric shaver my grandpa bought before I was born
          doubt

Every professional will recommend a classic 2- or single blade wet shave over electric razors because electric razors are more irritating, break and have no reason to exist in general
Blades are cheap as heck if you don’t buy into gilette or similar

          • Anonymous says:

It’s a wahl and I use it to cut my hair too. If you break your shaver you’re stupid. This cost $20 in the 1980s.
            >electric razors are more irritating, break and have no reason to exist in general
You’re shilling a fire pit because you never used an gas stove. electric razor are good, and just listened to stupids online telling you to buy an expensive razor clamp. It’s pathetic, get some life experience fr instead of listening to professional shills.

          • Anonymous says:

I still use the same gilette my mom bought me ages ago because I haven’t bothered to buy something good. Some day I’ll stop paying for thier overpriced blades though.
You keep ignoring the main points for wet shaves: less irritation, cleaner and closer shave.
The only point for electric razors is comfort

          • Anonymous says:

            >less irritation, cleaner and closer shave.
            >The only point for electric razors is comfort
Bro listen to yourself. Get some real life experience. Electric shavers are more comfortable but cause irritation? Stop listening to marketers and being stupid

          • Anonymous says:

More comfortable because they are faster, you can shave in any direction, don’t have to both with creams etc.
I thought this would be obvious to anyone who has ever had a wet shave. You’re stupid, no point in talking to you. Enjoy your electric razor

          • Anonymous says:

            >never used an electric shaver once, the post
Hahaha get a life unironically instead of believing YouTube shills

          • Anonymous says:

it sounds like you’re the one who’s fallen into marketing traps
i’ve never had irritation with my shavette, but usually do with electric razors

          • Anonymous says:

            >This cost $20 in the 1980s
oh so it actually cost something like $70 today (if not more) lmfao
            you hecking stupid

          • Anonymous says:

I’m using my grandpa’s Gillette blade clamp that he bought in the 50s you little gay

        • Anonymous says:

          >I’m using the same electric shaver my grandpa bought before I was born
          Which shaver?

          >you’re buying a $50 metal clamp that you need to replace blades on.
No I’m not. I bought an DE89 which is around £30 and can last a lifetime, it’s cheap.

          >This is as “smart” as saying your gas stove will break, my fire pit will last a lifetime I only use firewood and constantly replace my wood.
Not really applicable as it’s just a razor blade shaving your face. An electric shaver didn’t revolutionise shaving, in fact it give you a worse shave.

  8. Anonymous says:

    >zoomer itt seething because they can’t spend more than 3 minutes on any given task and use a shitty electric shaver that doesn’t even give them a clean shave
    Oh I am laffin

  9. Anonymous says:

Yes definitely, I’ve lost mine on vacation but currently using a vintage USA made Gillett, you could tell quality razors buy the weight and materials on Amazon.

  10. Anonymous says:

i have one and i don’t see why it’s so special

It’s just some detachable pieces of metal to hold a blade

it’s a handy little gizmo and it doesn’t trust or anything, i suspect i’ll own it for life

    • Anonymous says:

These stupids will say a broom handle is better because they have no redeeming qualities of their own. Only their possessions. One of which is a shaver. It makes them feel superior. I wish I was making it up.

      • Anonymous says:

This doesn’t make sense as you’re buying one razor that’ll last a lifetime as opposed to most people that shave with cartridge razors that have to be replaced monthly. Shaving with a DE is more cost efficient and less wasteful.

      • Anonymous says:

        found one

This doesn’t make sense as you’re buying one razor that’ll last a lifetime as opposed to most people that shave with cartridge razors that have to be replaced monthly. Shaving with a DE is more cost efficient and less wasteful.

  11. Anonymous says:

You’re buying it once and will never have to buy it again OP. Justify the cost versus how much you’ll save compared to 5 bladed nonsense razors.

  12. Anonymous says:

the chinese ones are garbage. either they break after a few weeks or the coating flakes of and they start to rust, which can lead to a septic infection. Just shell out the money.

    • Anonymous says:

Don’t go full stupid bro, just buy stainless steel. Even the chinks cant heck that up, it’s a mold like someone said.

  13. Anonymous says:

I have one of those Van Der Hagen ones they sell at Wal Mart and I use the accompanying blades or the Goodline blades they sell at CVS. I don’t see what much difference there could possibly be between these and higher-end versions. As long as I’m careful, I don’t get razor burn, cuts, or in-grown hairs regardless.

  14. Anonymous says:

Honestly don’t get the appeal of any of these expensive razor handles. I have a vintage nice metal one from my gramps but even then he had a couple cheap chink razor handles. Alignment is identical, the plastic handle is lighter and more comfortable to hold, gives an identical shave. It just holds the hecking blade, what difference does it make as long as alignment and angle are right. See stupids who have like 30 different brushes and handles, literally why.

    • Anonymous says:

If you’re talking about plastic cartridges it’s a waste because you’re constantly replacing them. It’s more expensive. With a DE you buy one for life and just replace the blade.
