No, because as it turns out, our consciousness might not actually be entirely within our brains, but emergent from our entire nervuous system. People who have even gotten organ transplants note changes in their personality and sometime these actually reflect their donors, such as food preferences for example. I don't think a brain in a jar would actually feel consciousness, because consciousness is an emergent phenomenon created by our brain constantly having to process billions of inputs a second from every nerve and sensory organ in our body. Without a body, what is there for a brain to even do? One could argue that its possible to fake these inputs, but I theorize that a brain also cannot just be given nothing but numb, pleasurable thoughts either.

The reason food preferences change isn't because the last owner of your lung liked steak, it's because the lung is less efficient than it's supposed to be and thus requires more iron, the lung in turn sends signals to the brain that more iron is needed for the organ to function properly, hence you crave iron rich foods.

In a scenario where you're a brain in a jar you would presumably be fed adequate nutrients through the water so you wouldn't have need or desire for different nutrients.

The entire point of the brain in a jar is that it gets inputs from the computer that it's hooked up to. If such a thing is even possible, the brain could receive inputs simulating the life of a paleolithic hunter-gatherer, get eaten by a cave bear and move on to smuggling spice from Arrakis.
Humanity will transform itself into a posthuman digital species. This will happen through gradual replacement of natural brain cells with nanomachines, this process will be based on Neurogenesis and Neuroregeneration. After achieving such full cybernetic state, the brain will be linked to a computer to be able to grow virtual neurons until the analog part of one's brain is redundant to maintain the mind and thus digital existence is achieved.
