I’ve always held great respect for anyone with the strength to see it through. Thinking about it scares me too much.

i think it has more to do with your emotional/spiritual state upon death than the method honestly. the catharists had the idea of the endura, buddhists have the idea of the sokushinbutsu. if you're doing it just for the sake of escaping your current situation, or just because you feel bad, then it probably has some kind of negative consequence. if you're doing it for another reason like some act of sacrifice, martyrdom, spiritual ascendance or what have you, then that's probably different.

I personally don't think it's bad, and you won't be cursed forever, nothing is forever. I think everyone has the right to end their life if that is their wish. However, I feel sorry for you that you're in this position, you must be in a very bad situation. I hope things will get better for you and that you won't have to kill yourself.
Also, I have heard that if you kill yourself, you will reincarnate into a life with similar circumstances so that you can learn the lesson you're supposed to learn. But I don't know if that's necessarily true.

I tried it once, failed, realized I shouldn't cause my family such grief just because life isn't a movie. Now I'm just okay with being alive. Suicide is only a good option if your expectations are grandiose. You don't have to be Spiderman, you don't even have to be yourself. You can simply be.

I don't know, and I don't really care. We are all one consciousness, so any curse you might be afflicted with is done by and to you, and also it is undone by and to you. Why not just exist in the present moment? It's far better than looking to a non-existent past or future.
