He was a short small framed man who thought he was a gangster. I like sinatra, and the ones you list in comparison make him totally not cringe. But when you compare his behavior to dean martin frank could be cringe sometimes.
>how did he try to be a gangster, by being Italian and wearing a hat?
zoomer... the ignorance is astounding. just astounding. if you had paid attention while watching sopranos like your incel ass probably has >tommy dorsey stuck his gun in sinatra's mouth and forced him to sign a contract >sinatra was then in bed with the mob (who had a good amount of control over radio back then) >mob forced stations to play sinatra 24/7 >forever associated with gangsters for that reason
know you kids woke up yesterday but you're allowed to read a book or use the google machine
what put him on the map in the '40s was mainly the fact that he didn't sound like Bing Crosby. back at the time literally every white guy pop singer and a good number of blacks just imitated the latter. so Sinatra gained notoriety simply by being a male singer who was not a Crosby impersonator.
he fucking rocked it. I listen to this last night and was pretty blown by how hard it goes. Granted Count Basie and his band has something to do with it but when it goes full tilt its quite based...give it a listen it builds
>A song or two is good. But I can't imagine listening to an entire album.
he didn't release albums in the way you think of them today, the concept of an album being a cohesive piece of art started in the mid 60s. You weren't really expected to sit and appreciate an entire album of Sinatra. Albums in the 50s, and up until the early 60s, were just thought of as collections of songs/singles. That's also why his album In the Wee Small Hours gets praise as being one of the first concept albums.
i recently went camping in a fucking munted as spot with my mates and we sung sinatra while bladdered on rum it was kino
we also ate the bluest steaks known to man and i felt primal as FUCK WOOOOOOOOOO
I like his daughter.
Bennett superior
Incredibly based. One of the best singers ever and incredibly cool despite being a manlet. Good on him.
Extremely cringe.
What makes him cringe? Cringe is Machine Gun Kelly or Chris Martin. Not a dude like Sinatra.

How? he just sang jazz standards and pop songs. how did he try to be a gangster, by being Italian and wearing a hat?

To be fair most actual gangsta's these days are manlets. You have to put a lot of effort in to be desirable and going that route is one of them
>What makes him cringe?
Everything.

Sinatra is based, and you are cringe. Happy to clear things up here.
he's based sometimes, not nearly as often as people claim
Essential '50s-core.
Timeless and embodies the spirit of a time and place like not many do.

quite based.

RUN FOR COVER!
He's based, his fans are all cringe
>admits to being cringe
Based beyond words.
that's a wreckage of a P-38 Lightning 😉
Frankie saved my life once. I was being severely beaten by a couple of goons in an alley. Then he came along and said "alright boys, he's had enough."
Based if you like his style; cringe if you don't.
A song or two is good. But I can't imagine listening to an entire album.

Didn't he fuck marilyn monroe? If so that's evidence enough to consider him the greatest music artist of all time
>that's evidence enough to consider him the greatest music artist of all time

Him and literally every other famous man at the time
Yeah its one of Helmet's best songs man
