And when’s the last time you’ve seen this in Europe? I know it’s European clothing, but nowadays you just see Japs wearing it.

Trove and Seminead are your best friends for mens stuff. Unfortunately I think the latter is dead, but both are still easy to come by on second hand marketplaces.

European/western fashion is wearing a bra as a top and workout leggings

Western women’s clothing is men’s clothing in women’s cuts.

This is men’s mori kei fashion.. it’s just not as good, man.

Men’s clothing is always 100% more limited than women’s simply because there are more types of garments women can wear; women can wear every piece of clothing men can, but men cannot wear every piece of clothing a woman can. It’s extremely painful sifting through thousands of CDG listings and seeing the amazing ladies items available – often for relatively very cheap – but not being able to wear any of them. I think women’s bodies are just overall better for fashion in terms of proportion.

Ultimately I think Mori boils down to lots of different colours and patterns among a natural or earth/forest palette, **TEXTURES** and layers

tbh we could probably have more types of men’s clothing if they were tailored with a man’s physique in mind, just look at kilts for example instead of women’s skirts, and Indians have Kurtas (the dress-like garments, very rectangular form)

Yes and no. with Mori Kei there’s a deliberate effort to look like an illustration in a book of fairytales, that element of ethereal whimsy is lacking from ordinary fall fashions.

Doesn’t work so well in men’s fashion, though, I mean it’s not TERRIBLE like some moroncore bullshit we see on this board, but it definitely isn’t amazing for men.

I used to wear it, and it’s really comfortable, but it really only works if you are slender up top and ideally all the way down.
If you have anything over a C it looks like a fancy potato sack real quick, so I can see why it’s not too popular even with trad looking women.

Kind of the point of mori kei is it’s supposed to layer out, so cinching breaks that form. If you want a similar look with belts, then there is just normal cozy knitted fall fashion.

Fair, still, could get away with a relatively loose sash hidden between the layers, I’m not sure, might be worth a shot. But we’ll agree that wool needs to be more popular, right?

            >But we’ll agree that wool needs to be more popular, right?
Yeah, I definitely understand why it’s an unpopular textile and why a lot of people might not want to put time into coordinating and layering, but it’s comfortable, so I think more people should go for that in the cold months. Way better than just throwing on some flannel.

Even worse in here where people put on puffer coats or thinner plastic coats when it’s not THAT cold, I really, REALLY hate polyester jackets.
IMHO use wool, if that’s not enough, use leather, if THAT isn’t enough, fur.
            Simple as.

Unfortunately, even in Japan its pretty niche and a bit old hat.

they actually have threads about it once in a while

Kinda where I discovered the name of this style in the first place, not much else of interest on that board, though.

    >I wish more women wore it
it’s a dead and buried fashion, even in japan. I liked the simple outfits but hated the overly layered ones, thought it looked goofy. Haven’t you seen zoomers going muurr cottagecore-goblincore-my cuntcore? It’s almost the same

This only works on flat chicks, same problem as with 1920s flapper dresses. There is not a single thing a hourglass can do to make those fits look good instead of like a obese potato sack. Basically only for prepub teens or anorectics.
