Is manually scrobbling my vinyl record listening cringe
It's a little dorky but having a good 5x5 is incredibly based.
yes, but you could be a gay furry footfag so it's not that bad when you look at it that way
thanks for reminding me last.fm exists
does it still have any relevancy?
last.fm is ass now, they changed it and made literally every aspect of the site worse and paywalled some shit. it's really only useful for tapmusic at this point
that's crazy. thank you for the tips of perspective. What's tapmusic? What do you appreciate about it?
tapmusic is the site people use to make 3x3 4x4s 5x5s etc
to be honest I don't use it much anymore but collage threads have always been an enjoyable part of LULZ. it's a good way to look at a representation of what you've been listening to as well
there used to be some other thing that would generate a collage of band logos that you could put on your last.fm page like in a sidebar
oh, sweet.. no, yeah, those are great. collages are pretty and its a nice way to visualize your listening and not only does it have an aesthetic it does look fun to engage in musical communities online with it for sure. I like em. thank you, non.
also that sidebar sounds neato
why don't you just rip your vinyl collection to the digital of your choice and listen to that?
cringe and pointless yes but just have a streaming app play the album silently on your phone/computer while the record is spinning
Is this not effectively the same? By "manual" I mean looking up the record on openscrobbler and hitting add.
Once I dod what you're describing through spotify to get lyrics displaying in time with the music
What is the actual point of scrobbling? What are scrobblers like irl?
every leftist girl with pronouns in her bio would have a last.fm account 10 years ago. i actually went on a date with a girl i met on last-fm just because i commented on her profile and had the same taste as her. different times
omega autists, who else would care that much about showing off their "ebic" music taste
i guess it's the extremely online equivalent to hanging vinyl records on your wall when you have no irl friends or visitors
>showing off their "ebic" music taste
Let me guess, you think listening to audiobooks is the same as reading? Plebs like you are the cancer of this earth.
imagine coming on LULZ and not engaging with the board culture because it's 'uncool' or some shit
wonder why this board is dead and sucks
keep anonymously showing us that you're too cool for it, though
I tried it. I failed to get into it. That's why I asked these questions. I am learning the guitar if that makes you feel better.
I know well-adjusted people with careers and social lives who have last.fm and post their 5x5s on twitter or wherever every friday. It's fun. You notice trends in your listening habits
me too
i think it's cool to keep a track of what you listen, that's it
I used to do that, but my collection got so big I stopped using last fm. Ihad an attempt to use it again for the digital music I have, but I gave up after two days.
I loved having statistics related to the music I used to listen to. It was like a journal, very useful for finding new new music since it encouraged me to always search for something different. I didn't care about the social aspects, but I had quite a lot of friends. Shitposting on the Opeth page was also fun.
its pretty autistic but its only cringe if you make it cringe
scrobble? it's when you track the music you listened to. in PC you download some program and let it run so last.fm knows how many times you listened to a band.
why would anyone want that
so you have a cool profile showing off your music taste, and you see what other users are into. I discovered a shit ton of bands because of last.fm, it was great.
they want to show off to their gay ass friends how much music they listen to for some reason
it was a way to connect with people with the same taste as you, someone you knew listening to animal collective or radiohead was a big deal back then, i met tons of people that way and even went to concerts with them because of last.fm
>letting an algo decide who you meet and interact with is real cool
good lord.
back in the day before algorithms were controlling every aspect of our lives it was pretty cool
what do you mean? there was an algorithm in the 'neighbours' tab, but I'm talking about going to the page of your favorite artist or song and seeing an individual comment by a profile, in which you could visit, check their musical taste, and then comment on the user, or send a message. it was cool
go outside and walk down the street
a million different variables just influenced who you walk past
autistic people get hyperfixated on a topic, in this case music. its why they use last.fm to keep track of what they listen to
>vinyl
yes
I only have around 600 Beatles listens, but if i scrobbled my vinyl listens, that number would be past 10,000, easily
if you scrobble, you might as well hook it up. only reason I could imagine deterring you would be self-consciousness of not seeming too try-hard or nerdy or petty... if you enjoy it, do it. maybe last.fm will be revolutionized into a better music-hub one day. I mean, how long would it really take to hook it up, an hour? idk. I would consider it, personally.
