I've started meditating/mindfulness training and this makes it pretty difficult
I’m always singing snippets of songs in my head or hearing snippets of things I’ve been listening to. I have a constant soundtrack in my head.
>player character wants to become NPC
Nah When you have music playing that you can't stop it just becomes white noise. If anything my experience with this makes it hard for me to concentrate on anything or to really be in the moment. Hell I can hardly make my own music because there's some other tune taking up space
I always wake up with a new song in my head and it's completely random whether I've heard the song recently or haven't heard it in decades
Today's song is "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid
Yeah, I usually have some song in my head, at least like a little bit of a riff or bassline will get stuck
people use mantras so idk why having a song stuck in your head should be an issue. I think feeling calm and relaxed is more important than meditationmaxxing and having literally fucking zero thoughts
don't know if it's normal but i have the same thing, always a background soundtrack going. zoomers on tiktok have convinced themselves it's a diagnostic of adhd but i don't think so
I play full ass songs in my head exactly like the recording, like someone ripped the files into my brain. been that way as long as I can remember
what is the experience of having a song stuck in one’s head like for the average person?
Mindfulness just means that you’ve become aware of the fact that there is music playing in your head. You needn’t do anything further than simply sit and observe to be mindful. If you want to enter the silence, I’d suggest using a mantra for your meditation practice. Do this no less than 20 minutes at a time, at least twice a day. I’ve taken courses in Transcendental Meditation and studied the writings of Maharishi, the founder of the TM movement. Consider also just how much and what verity of music you listen to in a day. Meditation, and all contemplative inner practices for that matter, are rooted in stillness. I doubt many traditional advanced practitioners listened to much noisy modern western music.
how do i stop breathing consciously when focusing on the breath wtf
hold your breath
idk if it's normal but the only time there isn't music playing is when i'm talking to myself
it is if you have adhd
You can counter this by having a mantra you like looping in your mind or by being extra mindful of the sounds around you.
Gently put a stop to the music without getting annoyed by it. When the music comes back, instead of getting annoyed by it, stop it again. Do this as many times as you need to just don't make an enemy of the music.
I hope so because that's me
Surprised to see so many people who practice meditation on LULZ. Wonder what that's about
Yeah, it's fine. Meditating is more about controlling than erasing, or erasure through control. When I'm not thinking of anything in particular, music kicks in. Sometimes I willingly play songs since it's nice to mentally figure out the intervals and maybe some chords.
haha i have this same struggle with meditation. you shouldnt fight it, just roll with the tune. its lol when its some cringe pop katy perri song
Only if it's Bach
When you hear the music you are wading into bliss
yes. if you stop listening to music or listen to avant stuff it stops i think
